Cal Smith Family Bible Lyrics
There's a family Bible on the table
Its pages worn and hard to read
But the family Bible on the table
Will ever be my key to memory
At the end of the day when work was over
And when the evening meal was done
Dad would read to us from the family Bible
And we’d count our many blessings one by one
I can see us sittin' round the table
As from the family Bible Dad would read
I can hear my mother softly singing Rock of Ages
Rock of ages
Cleft for me
This old world of ours is full of troubles
This old world would also better be
If we have more Bibles on the tables
And mothers singing rock of ages
Cleft for me
I can see us sittin' round the table... - Розваги
What a band. Leon Rhodes on lead guitar, Buddy Charlton on steel, not to mention two future stars in their own right, Cal Smith and Jack Green.
Real country country bumpkin
He's got his self a cowboy hat now don't he
And a neckerchief!
Hahahah. Great voice over shadowed by the hat lol
Willie Nelson wrote that. Awesome song!
Cal Smith came to the attention as Ernest Tubb's guitarist,
Good ol Willie tune! Yeah the hats were fu**ed!
Excelente!!!! Saludos desde Argentina
Great song but whoever designed those cowboy hats needed to be looking for a new job back then.
The hat may not be up to standards. But his voice proceeded other standards indeed.
Good song but that hat doesn't fit.
But he ain't tryin to look slick.
This was recorded in 2015.
