    And the acetone bath you’re supposed to hang the tires from the lid, don’t let them touch the liquid, close lid. The fumes will remove the glue without losing it to evaporation

    Mark, you gotta seal that acetone container. 😁 It is not all in the foams it is all on the air because it evaporates very quickly. Also you are right, if you cut the tires off at the bead then it will work faster. Another trick is to weight them down to keep the top and bottom below the acetone. Great video sir!!!

    Hi, a acetone trick, put acetone in a small container inside a bucket, put your tires around the small container and seal the bucket with a lid. Leave for 3 or 4 days. It's the fumes that melt the super glue. Dont have to soak tires, less acetone used.

      Grab a metal paint can from the paint store. Seals really well. I made a chicken wire platform inside the can and only fill the bottom with acetone.

    • @baggszilla
      @baggszilla 2 роки тому +3

      So it's just the acetone fumes that breaks down the glue. Thanks!

      That’s pretty good! It does make more sense. Some metals react poorly to chemicals though so be sure the can or container you use is safe.

    You might want to seal the lid on the acetone bucket for the strongest use.

    You can also use an ammonia based glass cleaner for applying decals. Glass cleaner is designed to dry clear and streak free i.e. leaves no residue after it dries. Soap can leave a residue. Try using a scent-free, moisturizer-free, additive-free, detergent or surfactant. Pure dishwashing soap can also be used.

    Heat the decals 5-10 secs with a hair dryer - softens the decal and reactivates the glue. Then, just apply a little pressure to get it to stick. When it cools it will be perfect.

    I use easy off (foaming) oven cleaner for the pipes, heavy duty acetone and an old coffee can for the rims but i cut the tires off down to the bead and cover the container, takes about 2 hours with fresh acetone. Great vid.

  • @MattTrump075

    Yes cut foam out first. As I've seen in a lot of the comments already, it is the fumes that get the glue the fastest, but for simple lazy and as little acetone fume exposure put the acetone in a container with a gasket and seal it. Nice thing is the acetone won't evaporate and you can just leave the acetone in the container and reuse for the next time.

  • @agropiastrella
    @agropiastrella 2 роки тому +8

    There's no need to soak the entire tyre in acetone. The best way to not waste time and acetone is to cut away the old tyre, remove the foam and leave as little of rubber possible on the rim. Then you took a flat container (like the white ikea ones) , the rim in supported by a bottle cap and pour a little acetone in it. Then you seal the lid and let it set overnight. The acetone fumes will melt the glue in a couple of hours and you can save a lot of acetone than just soaking the entire wheel in it.

    Somebody has probably already said this.....but for the acetone.....ya don't soak the tires. Get a container that seals and is big enough for the tires to fit without touching each other. Pour the acetone in a cup and let it sit in the sealed bucket. Its the vapors that break the glue down. No need to soak.

    For cleanin the pipes or even aluminum wheels for the rcs, try coca cola. We used it in the injector pump on an old tractor n soaked the pieces we pulled out of the pump. Cleaned all the buildup off n it worked perfect wen we put it all back together

    Just a suggestion. Burn the foams in a controlled situation so they don't catch fire under unfortunate circumstances since they are soaked in an accelerant. Don't hold them in your hand and light them, pour a trail to them and light the trail keeping yourself and everything else away from the source.
