    yeah, i did my upgrades for my RTR in the order:
    -most importantly the charger and battery, ofc
    1. driveshafts (steel ones, ofc)
    2.metal gearbox gears
    3. better servo
    4. oil shocks
    5. better electronics
    6. better tires
    that is the order i did it in.

    Whoa!!!!!
    Getting a new body isn't really like getting a new vehicle. No.
    BUT if ya get a hard body, not a Lexan shell type, you can spend LOTS and LOTS on cool mods, lights, super detailing with paint, weathering, and use up all your receiver chanels
    Add a winch!! A remote controlled unit. Put your lights on 2 circuits, normal and off-road. Or......
    Go out on a limb. Get a sound system. They make a few good ones.
    If you do go with a body shell only, try to get one that you can install an interior. Nothing cooler than a super detailed and painted interior!!! Ya know, add dash lights, a dim some light to show off your handiwork. Add some seat belts or harness. . If ya have a SUV like a Cherrokee or Bronco, the back seat and storage area is made for cool stuff.
    Don't omit the roof rack!!! Stick some more off road lights up there too. And fuel cans, tools, tarps( spray painted paper towels), High Lift Jack, spare tire? meh? Mine would be too big. Hey, not racing DAKAR, or BAJA. Put a cooler and grill up there.
    I have Cherokee 1/10 I think? Or 1/12 by Pro Line with a full interior. It looks like they are going n a 3 month camping trip. Even have Coleman Lanterns( Lego's,) LOL fishing poles, skate board, and more. All snuggled down under a cargo net with Bungee cords.
    Sorry. Didn't mean to rant. Or rave. Whatever. I just want em to look as scale and realistic as possible.
    Don't get me started on MOAs. Motor On Axle. How crappy is that.? Even a servo. No. Just no.

    I just wanted to do it this way this time, that 1800 milliamp lipo battery at the beginning of the video will that fit in a Tamiya? Have you ever wondered why a ready-to-run (RTR) comes with a manual and a exploded view? When I came back I charged battery up and was ready to start it up. I turned on ESC/motor and the transmitter. But now when I drive the turning knobs on the transmitter make it throttle forward and backward and the throttle on transmitter makes it turn and go forward or reverse. I ordered a high quality futaba to replace the receiver and transmitter, but I was wondering if anyone else ever had this experience and if these are the correct parts to replace

    Proline power strokes might be good for racing but for bashing Traxxas GTR XX shocks are the best. Designed for revo used on lots of popular rcs spares and tuning parts are endless. The Erevo shows they can jump over houses no problem. Be tuned for 100mph +. Proline powerstrokes in the PROLINE PRO MT threads on forums sufferd badly from popped shocks. Ive had two sets of original powerstrokes and always shocked how puny they look. Put the money to Slash GTR shocks. Or buy cheap X01 / Erevo watever shocks plus XX rear shock bodies and XX shock shafts. Convert them. Remove any limiters add extra long rear shock parts.

    • @markoftheus
      @markoftheus 2 роки тому +1

      The idea is that the WD-40 makes the plastic more flexible and resistant to snapping. From my experience, it doesn't really work well to make any significant difference. If you want suspension parts with better flexibility, you're better off buying RPM parts. The company RPM makes upgrade suspension parts for a variety of vehicles that use a more flexible and durable formulation of plastic compared to most stock parts.

      @@day146 i would buy a set of bearings for your model should be the same very first thing. ARRMA be as rings are kinds crappy in my opinion so either change them out as you go on routine maintenancea few at a time or replace the entire set at once. Keep a set of bearings for your rc on hand, so if you do upgrade your whole cars bearings at once buy a second set to have on hand. This way when something breaks...when its apart you can swap new bearings in that corner you have apart. Just get a set that is inexpensive(fast eddies or Boca bearings are some suggestions) because some of the bearings will wear out kinda fast and this kills your fun, speed, and battery. Also have a set of spare front a arms maybe the hubs that hold the bearings for the axles.
      Have plenty of battery packs to keep the fun going. Keep an eye on temperature of motor and speed controller during your run. Maybe buy different size pinions to make it faster or slower depending on temps. A cheap harbor freight or some other cheap lazer tepm gun is a good investment for your electronics.
      Heat is your enemy in this game.

    hello Rcdriver,
    I have a Absima atc 2.4 with a brushed motor, but I want to get new motor. My question is can my rc car run a brushless motor?

    • @rcdriver
      @rcdriver  5 років тому

      We don't have that car here in the US. But by the looks of it, with the aluminum center shaft and steel dogbones, the signs indicate a mild brushless system should be fine.

    Ready for a sad example? My 1st RC was a Arrma Typhon 3S. Now 3 years later nothing on RC is original, and so far have over $2800 in this $349 RC. So that being said, whatever RC you get, think 2x that money in Moderate upgrades, and 4x the money if taking it above and beyond. On a high note, im certain I have the best Typhon at the tracks thou. Just keep in mind RC gets EXPENSIVEA and fast.

    OMG Better Endpoints? The TX either has Endpoint adjustment or not, there is no such thing as better adjustment. Better shock oil? It has different weights ok, but better??? Aluminium suspension arms are a bad idea 90% of the time. Caster blocks, gear/diff housing ok, but the arms? Crashing your RC with aluminium arms, destroys either your diff housing or breaks you chassi, thats expensive and takes a lot longer to repair than simply replacing an arm.

  • @DR-ip1rh

    I disagree. If you are buying an RTR, be ready to live with most, if not all, of these issues. When you buy an RTR, the whole point is to save money. You're paying for the cheapest possible versions of all the various components; paying again to buy all these things again is a waste of money. Besides, the vehicle itself is the cheapest possible version it can be... If you throw in a better motor, esc, battery, servo, radio, shocks and faster gears, etc., the vehicle becomes the weak link... now you're blowing diffs, bending chassis plates, breaking plastic components and waring out drive line components, and you've bought everything you need to get a high end kit going. Certain items will ware out eventually anyway, so when that happens, by all means, buy better ones.... Like tires... DON'T buy the stock ones again, TRUST ME... but what does a decent set of shocks cost? At least $100... what does a good set wheels cost? Close to $100... what does a motor/esc combo cost? $150 to $250 or more... What does a decent transmitter cost? $200... what does a nice lipo battery cost? $75... What does a decent servo cost? $75... What does a decent charger cost? $100... You can't seriously tell people they should buy all this and more for their $200 or $300 RTR... that's silly... if you're considering buying all these upgrades, you should be looking at a higher end kit... for example, if your looking at a Traxxas Slash 4x4, and you are thinking about getting all these upgrades, forget it... get a Tekno 410b or Losi SCTE.

    This hobby can send you to the poor house. I want to buy a kit and build my own sct but cannot justify $400+ for a box full of injection molded plastic. Then you have to buy motor and esc...tires and wheels, body...i mean jesus christ....i just built a bad ass ar15 that costs about half of an rc build and the gun is mostly machined steel...its ridiculous.
