The only issue I find with an inflatable is when temperatures are well below zero. In cold weather I prefer a thicker foam matt.

I bought a insulated sleeping pad and took it on the first run up the mountain this past weekend. The extra weight is not worth it in my opinion. Inflatable all the way.
