I always pack mine so when I get to camp I set my tent up and make my bed FIRST. And pack the pack accordingly. I have became violently sick for some reason when I reached my site. That way I can easily get in and rest. Doesn't matter whether I car camp or backpack my rule #1 is get your bed made. When I did the AT in 06' a comfy place at the end of each day was something I always looked forward to. Rule #1 is what I live by. Last thing I want to have to do is "dump" my pack to make my bed....

Totally agree. First things first man. Same whether car or backpacking, always the same priorities: On the move drinks/snacks/layers, digs gear, camp drink and food. Anything else comes last.

I've always heard that the heavy stuff should be packed as near at the spin and as HIGH inside the backpack, whereas you say it's to be low. What ist right?

      Yep, high up.
In the middle will mean gravity is always pulling the pack down and away from the person. When its high up, the weight becomes supported by shoulders and spine.

I lost it at 0:55 when suggesting to add the heaviest items in the centre of pack. Its well know to try locating the heaviest items towards the top of the pack. This is to aid the pack staying close to you since you naturally bend forward slightly with load and bearing the weight better.
Putting it lower will mean gravity is always working against you and pulling you back. And considering the backpack show has middle and top access, there is no reason to do otherwise. So, the video is not for me.

Putting heavy items on top of the bag will make your lose your balance due to the bag weight trying to topple you especially on uneven terrains like big rocks. Keeping heavy items closer to your body is the best way.
