SECTIONING THE BODY 4 INCHES: 1935 FORD HOTROD (you won't want to miss this one)

Вставка
  • Опубліковано 11 вер 2024
  • Today we're going to section the body of a 1935 Ford. Sectioning removes a horizontal section from the body of a car, lowering the top half onto the bottom half, and welding the result back together. This will make the body 4 inches shorter in height while also making it 2 inches shorter in length 🔥

Great work today and with Jim there to bounce ideas off of . Hey just a idea Jim said he didn't have a plasma cutter since Lincoln was nice enough to give you a new plasma cutter I think you should give Jim your old one. He'd be tickle pink. Sure would like to hear how he felt when he got the extra money for the truck. At least he will be able to feed the cats. Hope everyone has a great night and Take Care Jim needs the old welder to. Since you got new one.

Chad and Jolene, masterful work. Anyone who has ever done camera work knows you deserve an A+ Jolene. And of course the same with bodywork Chad. Jim is always a wonderful addition. Sage advice from him!

Great to see Jim there to help you with the heavy job of cut the body of the ausome 35 Ford hotrod project. Why don't you give Jim your older plasma cutter when you hook up the new one you can only use one at a time. Other then that the project seems to be coming along great plus Jolene is doing a great job filming the progress on the project. Thanks Mark Dutka

The way you were running that plasma cutter looked like you were an old timey hand striper! I did NOT say pin stripe, I said HAND STRIPE!! There is a difference and you my friend have it!!! You have my respect and with me, respect is hard won and easily lost! Thank you Chad!!

Next time, take that measurement from your dividers and transfer it to a bent piece of steel strap. Then cut a notch at your mark to hold the tip of your plasma cutter. Put the bent end of the strap on top and the cutter tip in the notch and slide across to make your cut. It will take some of the strain off holding the divider and cutter in one hand. Easier would be to well a tab on that strap at the mark to rest the head of the cutter. Either way, you have less stressful tool than the dividers.

Chop, chop, weld, weld, is Bad Chad's middle name, since that is what he loves to do to cars and makes his pieces of art. This is pretty cool watching him chop and section this '40 Ford. He is educating a lot of people out there on the art of fabrication of automobiles. Great video.

G'day from Oz. This race car build during the sanding portion of the COE build has been great. I love your approach to rodding. No time wasting just hard work & great results (usually within an hour). I've learned a heap of stuff from your no crap approach to fabrication. Thanks for filming the process every day. I look forward to the shows.
