Thanks for watching. I’m sure there are plenty of other ways to do it, but this is how I’ve always done it and it’s always worked out well for me.

Cool video - the first of yours I've seen (Karl@ 'Make it Kustom' sent me). I like your tip about fitting the important things first, and the rest goes where it goes. I wonder how many people don't think of that and then wonder why their project fights them...

Wow, I'm suprised at how solid that body is. 28-29 Rpu's always seem to look their best when channeled and this one is no exception! I'll be looking forward to more progress on it.

I legit spent several weeks debating on channeling it just because of how nice it is. I have to regrets about my decision haha

Every now and then UA-cam hits the mark and today your channel popped up for me.
I was thinking "this is nice a job", so I subscribed.
Then I read the comments and saw some of the folks I think do great work were saying the same thing.
If my health continues to improves a bit I have a T to finish and then a couple of A trucks to do (a roadster and a closed cab) each with AB8 flatties.
Now I have to go through your complete catalog of videos! :)

Americans and Canadians make me chuckle, when building 'trad rods'. They find good metal, then cut it all out and throw it away! I'd pay you good money for those subs you cut out. My very sketchy A pickup sub-frame cost me £150 sterling ($250 CAD!). I never throw good solid old Ford, or other brands, metal away. It's way better quality, than most contemporary parts and makes for a more authentic finished build! Just kidding. I know how it all goes. My roadster chassis was box-tube fabbed and looked the part and performed great. It looked similar to your stepped rails, but with a suicide front cross-member. I've not been checking in with your channel for a while, but you've got me hooked again, with channeling Ford As.
Couple of YT channels i dig watching are; Mart's Garage (Martin Holden - a pal of mine), over here in England. He's doing a flatty engine swap from his '31 roadster in to his completed '32 Sedan for beach racing at Pendine Sands in Wales (U.K.) this summer - it's all old metal malarkey from his backyard garage... along with Fitzee's Fabrication channel from New Foundland, who operates a car fabrication garage outta his backyard. He's very 'trad' in his fabrication techniques, using minimal hand tools and homemade pieces. I think you're likely to like both channels. Check 'em out. Enjoying your shows, Koops.

Haha well to be fair, I mostly just trimmed the subrails a bit at the front. I also noticed while trimming them, they were not originals, someone welded them in.
Thanks for the channel recommendations, I’ll check them out! Thanks for watching!

Thank you for this video, I have a 30 Model A Coupe, I used the stock frame, installed a Boling Brothers rear frame kick up along with there frame boxing plates, I will be channeling the body as you did...only thing I'm doing different is I built a 1"X2" subframe that uses the stock body mount locations...be safe!! God Bless!!

Well, technically the floor is still in the same spot, the body is just lowered around it.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, if you mive it forward you will clear the shifter and E-brake. You will have to trim the firewall a bit though.

Why would you not notch the square tubing where it meets the bodylines in the rear panel. There's no real strength lost or needed at that point, especially after it's welded to the panel. Liking this channel by the way.

    • @LGKustoms
      @LGKustoms  2 роки тому

      That would definitely work.

  • @garycamara9955

Just move the body backward, dont cut the firewall. Doesn't have to be more than a half inch.
