Bring back the V8 and the solid front axle. Tailor it to your real buyers who aren’t afraid to get it dirty, not the soccer moms.
They literally have a soccer mum in product management and presenting this walk around, tells you who their target market is.
Why would you need solid front axle? It ruins the on road handling. It's not like these soccer moms are going to rock climb.... Maybe some trail riding at max. Also, there are aftermarket Portal Axles for the G classes that a reverse OEM engineered from the 4x4^2 and a better upgrade than any solid axle you can put on it. G500 is still a v8...
@@seanl764 Being branded as an “Off-road Icon” on the MBUSA website, a solid front axle has way more articulation for off road uses compared to an IFS. For roughly the same amount of money, you can buy the AMG GLS 63 for better on-road characteristics. If MB continues this trend, the G class will end up as a monocoque chassis like those Defenders. Let’s hope that never happens.
Also, the G500 featured in this video is not a V8, it’s an inline 6.

It's a g-wagon thing, they kept the oldschool g wagon doors and locks whilst still being able to implement keyless entry

@@MercedesBenz Actually I have! The G 350d from 2021 and 2018. Luckily my family owns the 240GD Cabrio Oldtimer from 1982. Driving it felt really like travelling through time

The MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment system comprises two fully integrated 29.5-centimetre (11.6-inch) touch displays, which ensure rear passengers remain fully entertained during a journey. Thanks to the connection to the MBUX multimedia system they can watch films, surf the internet and access trip information, among other things. If required, users can move content interactively from the displays in the second seat row to the media display up front. They can also play their own media via various interfaces.

I was looking into ordering the new g500 i have 2 g550 v8s 2012/2017 but i guess ill just get a g500 2019 v8 always

An inline 6? Sounds very good. The G needs 6, 8 or 12 cylinders. Car looks good on the outside and the inside. Hopefully it will be as robust and sturdy as the current model. We have high expecations!
