    Thanks. I have seen other videos about Oramask but never with the use of a clear coat down first and then after the cut. That is one cool trick that I will definitely try.

    Look at the lens of the camera instead of the display screen. That way you're looking directly at your audience.

      Mark Lindsay CNC honestly that is too many steps. I haven’t tried any finish except for the water-based. But I do two coats of finish, engrave, then paint with some water down paint. Wipe with a rag and done. No need for mask. I have successfully done this with red Oak as well.

    Great video and info. The oramask worked perfect. What product do you use to clean off the sticky stuff left over after peeling the oramask off?

    Thanks for the video! Is it two coats of clear before oramask and another two coats after carving the job before paint or is it just one coat of clear before putting on the oramask and then the two coats before paint?

    I've seen people use blue painters tape. Wouldn't that be cheaper than Oramask?

      It can work, however I prefer oramask. It sticks a bit better and in the long run, is likely about the same price as oramask

    Have you ever tried this with sanding sealer?

    • @TheWhimsicalWoodworker
      @TheWhimsicalWoodworker  3 роки тому

      I have not! Great idea. I’ll have to pick some up to try. The main reason I started using oramask was to fill the grain lines on the face. Even with sealing, I was still getting those grain lines filled with paint. Little amounts but paint nonetheless. Hope you enjoyed the video!

    Bro your "finished product" wasn't even the same product you were working on the entire rest of the video...

      Jeremy McClure you are right! Sometimes in the life of a full time job, parent, and hobby woodworker, creating content for others takes longer than expected!

      But if you have all that going on in "life" how about waiting until you can do your "videos" properly? Just a thought
