    Thanks for the video, very informative. I am wondering is it necessary to cut or thin down the finishes that you are using? Thanks!

    Thank you for your videos! New sub. I bought the same Helmsman spare gloss. It looks great. Is that the same type you would use outside with the sun and glare? Can you use that on the sign then tone it down with another semigloss? Or has this been what most of your customers prefer? Thanks again for all your details to help everyone.

    No Offense, really. I mean it. But rambles too much. Just some constructive criticism. Focus on your points before shooting, Hit them suckers and put the info out. All these Back Stories For. Every. Single. Thing??? No...I can't stay for all that. Hate me if you want, I've said what most of you were thinking. The story for everything is just a killer.

    First of all. I am not doing this for money. My house is right behind the wall it is on and I like things to be nice.
    Doing wood large signs would you please recommend a metallic gold paint for outdoor?
    The sign I have repainted is a residential appx 96" long x 22-1/2" wide and what kind of sealer would you recommend?

    • @woodworkingbylpi
      @woodworkingbylpi  2 роки тому

      Thank you for watching! A latex paint of your color choice is generally the best paint for wood to use for outdoor use on your wood sign. The biggest concern with outdoor paint on wood signs is peeling and fading. For the sealer a polyurethane is a good solution or an epoxy resin is even better. However, please note due to the elements all sealers will eventually need to be touched up over time to keep the original look of your outdoor sign. Hope this helps!

    How do u clean the pipe if u use different stain or from oil base to water base

    • @woodworkingbylpi
      @woodworkingbylpi  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you for visiting the channel! The Critter is a great tool! To clean the pipe remove the tip from the top of the tube, to get access to the tube. Then you will want to clear the tube by using an air compressor, if possible, compressed air can or by blowing it clear as much as possible. Then use warm water and soap (dish soap or shampoo work well) with a small metal rod brush, or a hard bristled pipe cleaner and clean out the pipe for the next use. Also, ensure you clean the bottom of the tip on the top as well. You can do this using the same soap with a cloth and a small metal rod in circles till you see the inside of the tip is clear. Hope this helps!

    In the south my air compressor builds up a lot of condensation, how does that affect spraying wood signs?

    I just bought one of these based on this video. I plan on spraying Helmsman spar urethane with it. I can't remember if you mentioned it in the video, but do you dilute spar urethane when you shoot it with this tool? If so, what ratio and with what? Thanks for the vid. Great job.

      Thank you for watching! This sprayer is great and works very well with the Helmsman Spar. I don't dilute the Spar I use it straight from the can.

      @@woodworkingbylpi Hey I have one last question. What PSI do you have the regulator set to when spraying the spar?

    • @woodworkingbylpi
      @woodworkingbylpi  3 роки тому +2

      @@01f4irider I believe the manufacture recommends 3 cfm 90 psi - I use it at 110.
