I think Dexstarr is the only comic book character I like, this is the first time I've seen an animation of him and I'm so glad it exists

Dex-starr actually has a pretty tragic origin. He was originally an abused kitten named Dexter who was adopted by a kind woman and was actually happy and was loved by the woman (btw they never said what her original name was in the comics) and in turn he loved her back, making her feel less alone. One night a home intruder entered her room and killed herr while Dexter attempted to stop it, but failed. After that when Dexter attempted to go back home the police investigating the scene thought he was common street cat and kicked him on to the streets. Later two guys saw Dexter and decided to put him a bag and threw him off the bridge for fun and to see if he drowns. At that moment, when he was falling, Dexter was so fuelled with anger, vengeance and rage, that a Red Lantern power ring of rage close to Earth sensed his anger and made him into a Red Lantern where he took vengeance on the guys who threw him off the bridge and was left in an alley crying over the death of his owner and telling himself in his head that he will find the one who killed his owner and kill him, and told himself that he was still "a good kitty" like his owner thought he was. Now he's taken the title of Dex-starr and is an official member of Atrocitus's Red Lantern Corps.

Dex-Starr quickly became my favorite DC character, if not favorite comic book character, and this did him justice!

Oh no lol comics are easy to find as long as you have an ad blocker. Just Google like "read comics online" and you'll find it. Dexstarr's origin story is actually only like a 5 page short from about a decade back and it's extremely easy to find. And very VERY good

He was abandoned kitten along side with his sibling until the black woman come by and adopt him while day pass and he grown older, the black woman got murder off in her hotel and he been abandoned out of street, the two guys (one of them is actually the one who murder his owner) pick him up and throw him off the bridge but lucky the anger of ring (i don’t know what the name of the red ring) come for him and he become evil and kill the two guys, the last scene where he was crying and say himself at a “good kitty” and also his original name was dexter

Oh now THATS a funny thing. It's kind of a fan character? Like a decade ago some folks were hanging out on 4chan and decided to pull a prank by creating a fake dc character and then making a bunch of fanart and fake comic pages to post around the internet to prank people into thinking it's a real character. They ended up deciding on making an anti-dexstarr character, a blue lantern corgi lol. He doesn't have a name they just call him hope corgi. He's become kind of a beloved meme amongst the DC fandom because it's kind of a wholesome prank

Dex-Starr is one of my favorite DC characters

His story beaks my heart so much. As a kitten he is left along with his siblings. But is adopted by a sweet woman only for her life to be stolen away, leaving him a stay once again. Then some jerks find him and throw him off a bridge. He has every right to be mad
I love the simplicity of it. It's horrible and sad but it's also nothing TOO special- things like this happen all the time, people are cruel to strays and animals lose their owners. But this cat in particular, for some reason, had more rage in him than anyone else, this cat just happened to be near the lantern ring when it passed.

I thought dex got his powers from( atrocitus) his peoples death, or am i thinking of the injustice line
They both get their powers from rage- atrocitus had his planet blown up and that's why he is so angry and he controls the red lanterns. Depending on writer and or continuity, he personally chooses ring bearers as red lanterns or the ring chooses the next person in the galaxy with the most rage inside of them. In the moment when Dexter got thrown off the bridge after his owner was killed he was so consumed by rage that a passing red lantern ring chose him. That's his comic backstory anyway! He has a different backstory in DC superhero girls I know so he may not have the same one in injustice. I've not played it so I don't know if they actually say!
