Imma try to see if I can get this game running on my rig. I just need a disc for the core data. It might take a crapton of troubleshooting but it will be worth it in the end
@@TheFoodieCutie the game is pretty good I’d say.played the game for at least 100+ hours and it’s kinda similar to MWO,apart from the fact that you no longer have the freedom of putting whatever you want in a hard point. DLCs make the game much better and you get new mechs.Sadly since your on PlayStation I can’t really help you out and get you all the nice mechs with time as I’m on a Xbox. but anyway, I’d say get the game but it’s your choice.
I remember that the game didn't run and all I could do was to see the menu. I used to imagine the game. My God it was beautiful in my head. I love this song and the mech on flames. Thank you again !
2002, Staples. A generic joystick, a discount mech game from the bin, and dream. My dad cared and got me into Battletech and mech and PCMR by accident and I'll always remember that trip to the store and this game. (BTW the Mercenaries Expansion for MW4 is great).
This game is roughly 20 years old... I remember having a demo disc for PC that had one for this game with a skirmish match in a tundra using an Uziel, Awesome, Catapult & Raven. The Catapult was always my favourite of the four. Uziel second, then Raven and the Awesome came last cos it just seemed like a boring box dude, rather than a wide boy with what looked like a large snub gatling atop its head, a chicken with big square missile pods or a little chicken with a futuristic space fighter cockpit for a head. I want proper model kits of these mechs. Tabletop miniatures don't count.
For all those wondering. Use VLC video player to utilize this as a background. Download this video through some website online for your said background
WOW, been 20 years since I played that game.. I miss the online dial-up play and would play for as long as the line would let me! Clan Shadow Cat , always used Daishi , Madcats and MkII's
Part of the problem is the engine. CryEngine isn't the sort to allow the fell of heavy metal, even with its more recent alliterations. Hell, most engines tend to fail this as well. Another thing you have to notice is that some of these mechs are going crazy fast. To give you an idea, each hex in the classic battletech game is about 10.6km/h in terms of speed (they're roughly 30m in size) so a 5/8 (cruise/run) would be 53km/h / 84.8km/h. Note, this is something of an AVERAGE of most vehicles. With all sorts of fun components, modifiers, and pilot abilities, you can get a 'mech zipping around at some 304km/h... although the 'mech in question is going to have to have a damn fine pilot or it'll be slipping and sliding all over the place.
@UnkownSoldier117 Yeah, they wield superior weaponry and are more advanced than Inner Sphere ones. I always used clan mechs with no exceptions, I especially loved the Daishi for heavy fiirepower.
What never crossed my mind before because I already saw the mechwarrior 4 games as master pieces but . . . Why not remaster them? So many in the community jump hurdles to get these games working on modern hardware and the community is die hard honestly. So we would buy it . . . Just a thought though.
This really takes me back. I listened to it at the same time as D.C. Bruins' version and it became a full-on orchestra. Here's a link to that cover if anyone else wants to treat themselves: ua-cam.com/video/VsueCHdZjSo/v-deo.html&ab_channel=D.C.Bruins
The single biggest sin of Mechwarrior 5 is it not having a live action intro of any sort. I want to see Michael Ironside pilot a mech before he's too old.
i would like to point out that there were THREE Nova Cat Primes mixed in with that uziel, and i remember CERPPCs doing 15 points of damage over the 10 points that the PPC does. Point is that the intro movie is horrendously inaccurate.
It wasn't your father in the intro-that was the palace guard Sigma Lance Leader. Ian's father was in the palace and was presumably executed after filming his farewell video to his son.
Ok this takes me back 10 years. Wow. I felt that game had more control/customization and action than all these fps one shot games out there.
Right it`s already been 16 years... time flies.

@@whatdadogdoin8703 they have MW5 which came out a year ago on PS5, it’s no good? I want to play it but we all know how tough it is to get a console…

Ahhh, the soundtrack to my childhood. Good stuff.

i remeber justr loading up the game just to hear this music and i wouldnt start playing till i heard atleast once
Wanna thank you for uploading this, this game is obscure enough that we need to cherish the content published
I love this song. I wish they could add his to Mechwarrior online. It's so awesome.
if you are still interested, search mechwarrior online timothy seals sound mod, one of the changes replaces the MWO menu music with MW4 menu music
I want this music play at my funeral
1:20 that build up gives me goosebumps.
Finally! found this track after 2 decades!
Gratz, love it too. So menacing

My memories of this game is when me and my dad beat the campaign and I poked his eye out in celebration.
this was the first video game i ever played, i was 4. id say that was a good way to start my life

So eerie!
About a year ago I had that melody in my brain again but couldn't identify it, one moment ago i was hit by a PPC, MW4 main menu!

a good name for this song is the Black knight march.
due to it uses in the black knight Expansion as well.

0:00 Mechwarrior 4 Black Weight
Awesome Game Of My Child Hood !!
love the song, sad its not on spotify or anything to easily get at soundtracks like this
Download it using a UA-cam to MP3 converter.
Ah, so this is the piece Kanajashi is using for the "Should You Buy" series. Very ominous.
So much better than Mechwarrior online
So many mech build outs... the new games never seem to capture the heavy movement as well as this one did.
That sound on Begin,Is Awesome,Xd is like the huge Mech pitbull walking
Mechwarrior 3 did it better in that aspect... kind of buggy hitboxes tho (Ramming into certain buildings and trees would result in death"
Yeah, those things actually felt like mechs not a walking special effects generators

I think I disagree. But that's my interpretation.

@ThePanzerVI Exactly.
Use Clan version gun, earn extra tonnage/extra damage.
Sounds like Dune 2000
WOW ! THANK YOU !
Sounds just like FreeSpace soundtrack, same composer?
Duane Decker composed this, while Dan Wentz composed FreeSpace. They are both equally awesome though :)

I always did like the Awesome though! Put on ER PPCs (clan tech) and a crapload of heatsinks!
I don't care what anyone says about mechwarrior 4 . It had the best fucken music of the series
mw5 will never have such beautiful music

Anyone know the full name to this soundtrack? And where to possibly find the original file?
Well made and solid story line but unfortunately it didn't continue.
@Locusthorde300 How Do You know that it is an Uziel?

So who here has registered for Mechwarrior Online?
Me :p
