Hi from Australia I have just been re measured and moved from my Ping Raptures to the Ping I20. Tried the g25 and loved the feel however I naturally draw the ball and found my draw being slightly accentuated with the G25 where the I20 tended to straighten my draw a little. That was my experience and and love your reviews very insightful and easy to digest. Darren
I just purchased the G25 this week - a significant upgrade from my Ping Eye2 irons my old man handed down. NIGHT AND DAY comparison!! I think the other part that helps with PING is their color code system. I was black, upped it to green, plus the forgiveness of the G25, and wow! LOVE these clubs!
Hey I bought me a set of g25 today and they work out pretty find for me ... 7 iron goes pretty straight and about 150m when i hit it right in the center ... very good instructional videos ... it really helped thinking about to fire hips first, then shoulders and then to bring the hands at last around to that plane ...
Great video as always. I currently use the i20's and I love them. But I am going to give the G25 a try when they come out. I went from the G20 to the i20 and my handicap went from a 23 to a 17. That could be from playing and practicing more, but I do love the flight of the i20 much better than the G20. My problem is the driver(like everyone else lol). I hit my irons well. You the man Mark!
Hit both of these over the weekend. I hit both well but felt I was more consistent with the G25. Also really like the G25 dark finish. Got fitted and purchased the G25's. Can't wait for them to come in. Live in Florida so the weather doesn't really stop me from playing in winter months.
Nice video! I finally got a feel and hit the G25 irons yesterday and they felt very solid. I definitely must have them on my team this spring season. I'm in Cincinnati, Ohio loving the winter right now, but getting my mental ready to shoot off when the weather breaks.
Hi mark great videos. I've watched most of them now :-) after watching your videos last year I fell in love With the i20 irons from your feedback so I went to Gainsborough and got custom fit as you advised in a few of your vids. Well I picked them up in November and WOW I will never look back now I love the clubs. Great and a lot easier to use than my old clubs. They have taken around 8 to 10 shots off my scoring so I'm beaming from ear to ear now. From mid 90s straight down to mid 80s :-)
Got some i20's over xmas , love them. They feel very nice, like they require less effort to get the ball in the air. In fact when you hit it flush you feel virtually nothing.
4 months ago I took up golf. I'm 6'7" - Decided on ping as they accommodate my height. Went in for a fitting expecting to walk out with K's or G's but ended up with the i20's. They feel amazing when you centre them and let you know when you don't. I didn't get that feeling with the others and thought it might slow down the speed of my learning. My experience only.....
Love the videos. Have you ever thought about doing a comparison video of name brand vs clone? I ask because I play a non name brand and in the 3 years I've been playing I don't know whether its worth the money for big brand.
Mark, love the videos, you've been a huge help to my game and everyone else's! I wanted ask you about set up... When stood in address, I've been told to make a big exhale which will relax my muscles but this leads to me needing to breathe in during the backswing and then holding the breath through the downswing and becoming too tense. How do you keep relaxed or use your breathing during your shots so that you can swing freely? Thanks, and keep up the good work. And also please do a review on ol
I also tried the nike vrs covert 5 fairway wood ... first i struggled a lot and then i thought to corret the angle of my hands so that the face is really closed in the backward swing and not open ... and wow it really worked ... feeled really akward in the downswing first ... cos the plane was also steeper ... but bang ... straight down 220 meters ... great ... keep on the good work ... i keep looking ... best regards bernd cologne germany
I have ordered the G25’s (after a fitting). I hit both the i20 and G25 extensively (7 irons). I have to say that I agree that they are very similar in feel with the looks being the biggest difference. I am playing G10’s now (10 handicap) and never saw a clear reason to move to another G series Ping (too similar). For me it was the sole width… I really thought the wide soles helped me (I am a clear “digger” not a “picker”) but Ping let them get too wide in the later models (in my opinion).
I hit both these at a custom fit recently, although the g25 flight looked pretty in flight, the i20 had a better trajectory with lower spin numbers, leading to an extra 10 yards in distance. Both felt equally nice off the face and you can't argue with either looks wise, but the numbers tell the story so i20 it was for me. Not regretted the choice one bit!
Mark Im 16 and I just got the i20s and love them as far as workability and feel I'm just not getting any distance out of them.....could you do a video on how to squeeze maybe 10 yards more out of the irons
Great review. Mark looking at a combo set of i25 and g25. What are your thoughts and if you were going to do this where would the correct break be done? Thanks for your work
play the g25 the g700 and g425 getting similar results it's almost like my brain body mindset tries to make the ball go to the pin. somedays I wonder who's running the show. heart beats like my golf swing.
Mark, if you have access to Callaway clubs I'd love to see what you think of the X Hot Pro irons. I hit them the other day and they had a really nice soft feel to them. Thanks!
I too have played i3s for a decade now and am considering a change. Knowing that the i3 is very limited in the game improvement area I am curious about what to expect. Distance is not something I am really pursuing in an iron but I am never too proud to accept some help. I play to about a 13 index. I would like to hear any additional thoughts on making the change.
The G25's are about a degree stronger than the I20's so perhaps they'd go slightly farther. I went from the old O-Size Ping Eye 3's to I 20's and there was only one degree difference - so ball carry distance was not hugely different. What is different is how solid the i 20's are - best irons I've ever hit and I really feel like they will just about swing themselves.
mark, just wondering, you were using the 6 iron on the i20 and the 7 iron with the g25s, is this because the shaft and the loft is the same on each club? are ping doing a taylormade?

i own the ping i20's, just a great iron set and i will use them for many years to come.

Mark am a Ping fan, have aquired the following irons over a period of time: Karsten 1, Ping eye, G5, K15 and i20.
I just bought a used set of i20's on ebay. I hope I like them.
Winter sucks! Stuck watching all Marks vids, really looking forward to the season start!
Keep up the good work! :)

Love the review. I'm considering switching to G25's from my Mizuno MP52's.
Been waiting for this comparison. Thanks.

If it is not to hard could you please do g25 vs ap1 's performance review
Thanks and good video
i hit the i20 and g25 when i got fit. i choose the g25 mainly for the look. the two irons where so similar feel wise
Great reviews very fun and informing. Also could you please review the amp cell irons
Great review. Mark looking at a combo set of i25 and g25. What are your thoughts and if you were going to do this where would the correct break be done? Thanks for your work
Waiting for my G25s to come. Killing me!

I like where the g25 has gone with the hybrid line. They were just losing too many people with looks of the g series hybrids before.
mark, just wondering, you were using the 6 iron on the i20 and the 7 iron with the g25s, is this because the shaft and the loft is the same on each club? are ping doing a taylormade?
G25's look incredible.
We are now on iron reviews... Does that mean that you will not review the Callaway Razr Fit Xtreme Driver?
Good comparison!
Can you do a review on the r7 irons. I am looking for a reasonable priced game improvement set of irons. Thank you.
i'd realy like to see a comparison of ping g25 and g20. Because i can't make a choise between those two.
If money doesn't matter take the G25's! G20's are extremely chunky and have way more offset than G25. Doesn't look very nice at address… ;)
Thank you! But I took neither of them.. now I have the i25 and i'm very lucky with them :-)
currently using i15...and wondering if an upgrade is in order. probably not. what is the purpose of the feral (sp?) on the club?
great video. if i have the g20's what the advantage/upgrade to going to g25's?
can you do a video about the ping answer irons please mark?
Lee Westwood works in the mine?
I HIT THEM TODAY THE G25 WAS A LOT EASYIER TO HIT HANDS DOWN
THE I20 ARE FOR A GOOD GOLFER THAT MAKES NO MIS HITS
you should move to Australia where it is golf all season round
Of course where do you think he got his short game from?!?
djp3525 I lift weights at least an hour 5 days a week
he already did
Had the chance to hit G25 and i25... There really isn't that much difference. The biggest difference is the colour and the headsize.
whats in the bag
pick out a club with a lower number!
You should lift weights. I'm serious too. At 16, I doubt you have ever picked up a barbell and put in serious work.
If you shovel coal or gravel for a living ,,,,,, PING are the brand for you!!!!!!!
Ping irons are so ugly. Mizuno irons are the best!!
