    That development is not correct.
    Note that (e^x)^y = e^(xy) is NOT a valid identity in general with complex x and y. In your case, the wrong step is going from (e^(i2k\pi))^x=3 to e^(i2k\pi x)=3, because (e^(i2k\pi))^x is not equal to e^(i2k\pi x).
    The correct identity is (e^x)^y = e^(y\log(e^x)), remembering that log is multivalued.
