- Doing a quick review of a Wagner number eight chicken fryer. Vintage cast-iron I can see why people love vintage cast-iron since it is very smooth and lightweight compared to the modern stuff.
Looks tasty. Nicely done. I just bought, stripped, seasoned, and cooked in my first cast iron pan tonight! It's a little #3 Griswold. Cleaned up beautifully and cooks like an actual dream! I made a grilled cheese, a mini omelet, and then fried potatoes in it and it slid like glass throughout. I'm such a fan of cast iron after today. I ordered a Wagner #8 chicken fryer a couple of days ago. Can't wait to try your loaded nacho fries recipe for my family! So glad folks like you are teaching newbies the ways of cast iron and talking about your experiences with it. Thank you! Best to you & yours.
These are great. It really is hard to beat the vintage cast iron pieces. I like how lighter they are compared to Lodge.
Thanks for saying that you fry between medium & med-high - people don’t often tell - I don’t have a lot of frying experience so I needed to hear that info
Thanks for the input, see i appreciate comments like this. I feel there are topics I need to talk about as well. I’ve had a learning curve with cast iron. I will post a video about use, care, and cleaning.
Wow!!!! That looks so good I'm gonna have to do fries soon!!!!!!!
Looks good. Keep the videos coming good job.
Thank you guys for watching, got more videos coming.
I seen one of those while working
Does your fryer sit flat on your stove? Every fryer I come across is a spinner. I have a stove like yours and just wondering of one that spins would still work well on a glass top range.
Nope it wobbles but not too much so it still works great on my glass top
Do you have the lid skillet?!
Sadly I don’t
OMG you used it to fry fries instead of chicken!!! I swear you non southerners love messing things up!!!
Yeah…. Didn’t really think it through
