With 5000 RMB as the average monthly wage, some of the things are still expensive; when you are on a Chinese wage, street food is far better than Western food, and there is far more to choose... they do like their packaging on these take drinks, in Luckie coffee they takes ages to make your order thou ....great little video...Peace

In China, we pay attention to the food we eat. For instance, we don't eat cold food (ice cream) right before or after tea or spicy food. Spicing up a cold drink sends you directly to the toilet immediately. :D

Hi Lizzy, foods are actually getting expensive in China now. When I first arrived in Shenzhen, a first tier city in 2008, a braised duck drumstick rice is only about RMB10, the regular is as low as RMB6. All Chinese fast food, a dish over the rice is from RMB6 to RMB10. Soup noodle like the the one you are showing is about RMB8 for a small size and about RMB12 for a large.

Why don't you say that the average salary now is much higher than that of 2008? Especially after the COVID-19, the price of commodities in other countries have raised dramatically, but in China, many commodities price didn't rise too much or even hardly rise.

中国城市里的公园，都免费的，你想买票进公园。。也不是不可以，你需要一台时光机，穿越回30年前。至于吃的。10美元可以吃到很不错的东西了，一个人的话，足够一天三顿饭的钱。两三个人的话。也够去街边的饭馆吃一顿了。即便是物价贵的新疆，10美元也足够吃的很不错的一餐了。
晚上还跑去吃烧烤，就知道拉肚子是假的，只是为了广告，哈哈哈哈哈
不一定，或許是咀饞。我姐皮膚因體濕而發癢，看中醫服藥中，居然想喝楊枝甘露。我説這樣醫生白看藥白吃了。有些人沒這方面常識，更多是咀饞。

Wow…$10 for a day eating out, very affordable in a medium city like Kunming, bigger cities like Shanghai,Beijing are more expensive, if you cook at home…you may spend only $5 ??

if cook by myself, it usually just cost $3-5 per meal for single person, breakfast is generally casual that just cost no more than $3, i live in shenzhen.

That is something I do not understand, with all the delicious foods in China why would anyone want to eat Western fast foods.
因为没吃过，尝试一下，中国人可能一个月或者几个月也吃不了一次，只是换个口味，人口多所以让人误以为很多人吃

Geneally Western fast foods are more referred to KFC and McDonald in China, and they're running many branches, but we don't usually eat it cause our parents told us that these are junk food and unhealthy, so we eat it occasionally.

Or do you know the term "specially supplied"? This is very Chinese "characteristic"。如果可以，你可以尝试一“煤制油”，你会觉得中国内地的食品安全除了那些“特供”，其他的很难找到能够放心食用，或者说你是否知道“特供”这一说。这很具备中国“特色”。
这个确实没得说，食品安全每个国家都有，这个地人口和占地太大，再怎么管还是会有这种情况，所以大部分情况只能睁一只眼闭一只眼
