I love hearing these little stories of the glory days of Silverstone. A place of such magic long before I was born (I’m an 04 baby!) My dad used to take me just for the Saturday qualifying day when I was younger so that might be a good (+ cheaper!) option for you and your son. You get a taste of everything, practice, Quali, fanzone, music, stage appearances from drivers and some races from the juniors too (which I always find more entertaining!) Hope you get the chance to experience the British Grand Prix again. Thanks for the amazing videos!! 😄😄
@@AimLiz Thanks you! Yes, the cars looked so nice back then, in their simplicity. The late eighties and early nineties. The red and white McLarens. It was great seeing Hamilton drive Senna’s 1990 McLaren in Brazil. He was of course my sworn enemy back then, as he was Mansell’s foe. Our Nige. The smell of the exotic fuel they used back then was intoxicating. And the sound was amazing. I have to say though that I couldn’t miss the race if and when I go back to Silverstone. It would be like experiencing Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, but missing Christmas Day!
@@rawadslash8251 Thanks.. and thanks for the suggestion. I can record that one soon. I currently have the 2021 season about to be released. In two parts, because there’s a lot to talk about!
Hope you can attend to next years Brittish Grand Prix! It would be cool to see how the new tickets are (also great new memories!). I'm glad I found your channel, it looks very interesting for me as a relatively new f1 fan. I have been following it since 2018 a part from the obvious 2004-5 televised glory of Alonso (I'm Spanish). It's interesting to see your point of view and experiences related to the sport!
@@hugoaransan8251 Thank you! And thanks for sharing your nationality. Always interesting to hear. I went to the Spanish GP in 2005. I probably picked the wrong year as it was way more expensive and crowded than would have been the case in previous years, but the Alonso atmosphere was great to experience. All the Asturias flags, that exactly matched the colour of his Renault. Although that race was won by Raikkonen of course. I also went to Valencia for the European GP in 2009. I have those tickets too. And hopefully I’ll get to next year’s race at Silverstone.
@@bean_____Boi Thanks again. The only accident that I remember happening right in front of me was at Silverstone again, in 1989. Riccardo Patrese’s Williams went off and into the catch fencing, just metres from me. Not as bad as Schumacher’s crash. Patrese just got out and waved to the crowd. To me personally, I like to think!

I can only imagine how freighting Schumachers accident would have been. Thanks for sharing your experience. Great stuff as per usual!
