Agbaletu, please organise another interview with Sir Shina Peters as soon as possible, and please make sure you touch every area which all concerned members of his (Sir Shina Peters) band has truthfully and boldly vomitted out their pains and grievance. I am highly disappointed in him, black man mentality!
Olagago was a contemporary of Wale Glorious in the 60s. He waxed a record which is now the signature tune for Akoko request programme at the Ondo State Radio Broadcasting Service which used to be aired on Thursday evenings. Your chronicling of evolution of musical entertainment in Yorubaland will be incomplete without Olagago at Ikare and OCB Ade at Owo. Late Chachacha Akinwumi, who later played with OCB Ade before he died were among those who brought juju music to Ondo North.
This man is saying nothing but the "truth" . I thank God for giving him breakthrough. I'm a musician and I have learnt a lot from this man's interview.
Pls when can u bring my wonderful Ẹ̀gbọ́n, Akinlabi Ọsan ki wọn wa gbenu si mic 🎤 😂😂. He is a wonderful and caring brother, supported me professionally and physically when I bought POA music studio at fatimo odoona.
Truely, Tope is very proud, but the bottom of his pride is that he knows his Onions and this saves him from slavery. Kudos to you an achiever of note. For Dele Adeyanju, i dove my hat
"See, they wanna buy my pride; but that just ain't up for sale" - Kanye West (in Four Five Seconds by Paul McCartney ft Rihanna & Ye). This isn't about being proud, and like the line I quoted from Kanye West's verse of that song, Mr. Tope understands self-respect, dignity, a sense of self-worth, and integrity. These are values that should never be bought or compromised.
There are lots of lesson in this interview... I really learn and enjoy it.. But every band boys of Star..(Shinap Peter) complain about his Boss attitude which is very bad. Shina Peter still have chance to change his bad attitude. Yoruba proverb says....(Ireje lo nfo egbe.)
Now, people will now understand Mr. Sikiru Adepoju, when he said, working in the Ebenezer obey organization and hoping to succeed in the future it just wasting of value time.
Yes, this guy is right! His father was a cripple juju musician in ikare akoko in those days. Even the likes of sunny ade were afraid of him because he was very good in the trade in the whole akoko and old ondo state then.
I really enjoy this program especially alejo wa Temitope, emi ni mo mu Akeem Ayanwale lati odo Dayo kujoore pelu kamoru wasi odo Dele Taiwo, kunle ayanlowo by my name 💯👍👍👍 afi kolorun gbawa lowo awon ika eda tiwon npe araawon ni oga yi ni, won dele aye tan won gbagbe orun, history will tell by God grace, gbogbo wa lao ditan, awon were to nko oro aye jo,awon afee kaje mafe kayo🙏🙏🙏
Tolu Obey, with his grey afro hair that makes him look even older than his father has zero to little musical ability or talent. His imitation of his father's works is awful but as the saying goes, "man must whack"; especially while people are still willing to invite him to play for them. I won't pay him N1 to play at my event. I'd rather invite Labi Obey, YK Ajao, Abiodun Foli Peperempe and the likes who at least have some musical talent to offer. As I have said in other places before, it is a very sad legacy that commander Obey, for all of his brilliance mentored NONE of his former band members to succeed him. Rather, he promoted his son who has almost zero musical talent instead. A terrible African problem. Commander only supported artistes with instruments on a commercial, money-making arrangements. Very unfortunate.
They also said that he molested some of his bands women, authorized his body guards to beat them and stripped them naked. He should be punished for that if in a sane country ….
Too much complain about shina Peter, shina Peter should check himself, wat is really doing ds pples is greediness if u see anybody dats is too greedy for money they can never change . Bad attitude.
But Eja gbigbe soro kaa! Won o ki hun ka Eja gbigbe! Especially now that so called transient "stardom" has gotten into his fat head and so deep in his DNA.
Pun intended, it looks like if Shina Peters isn't stingy and brutal, his glory won't shine anymore. :) The lack of empathy is just too much. But it's partly due to his background in poverty and lack of basic education. Money doesn't sweep away such background easily. Once a person who never had enough sees money, he will amass it to himself/herself, for fear of losing it all again. It's Psychological. Young folks, do not fully depend on music. It's a double-edged sword kind of career path. I always say to my mentees that I hope they work with the Godly/KIND bandleader/pastor, for those who play in the church. Some pastors can be very evil too. We do case studies on them.
Yes but easier said than done. You forgot the fact that most of these guys were either very young, in positions of weakness, in awe of the environment they found themselves in, were illiterates or semi-illiterates back then. They wouldn't even have known rights from wrongs were written legal agreements had been presented to them then to sign. They would have signed anything because their ambitions took precedent over everything else and the paternalist culture meant the so called band leaders had all the ace cards on their sides. Social media of course either didn't exist then or was not as it is today.
Proverbs 4:23 TPT So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life. Conscience is the gateway unto a genuine conviction. When your conscience is dead, you become bold to live in sin. Abstain from every form of SIN [withdraw and keep away from it]. JESUS CHRIST IS COMING BACK SOON, EVERYBODY BE READY.
Nothing to do with being Yoruba but about the NGRN music industry. Unfortunately, the so called band leaders learned the tricks from the likes of late Abioro, Marijos, Jimmy West etc
I love what I heard about Daystar. May God bless Pastor Sam Adeyemi.
This man spoke very well. I am highly impressed
I think his exposure really help him you know the way he relate differs from local unexposed drummers

This is a nice and matured interview straight to the point without attacking any personality. Kudos Tope.

Truely, Tope is very proud, but the bottom of his pride is that he knows his Onions and this saves him from slavery. Kudos to you an achiever of note. For Dele Adeyanju, i dove my hat
Proud? I don't agree with you unless you know him one on one then I can concur
Let's not mix things up. You knowing your worth and what you deserve is different from pride or being arrogant.

I so much love this man walahi, he is known for his braveness and i love someone like that.
Agbaletu thank you so much for doing what you know how to do best, God Almighty will continue to uphold you now and forever more 🙏

They also said he molested two women that was working for him. I can’t comprehend
Sir you have not interviewed Admiral Dele Abiodun. Or am I making mistake?
Another masterpiece. God bless you!
He is right about tolu obey not meeting up. There are so many other artists that sing obey style than tolu
He has no musical talent or initiative as I've already documented above.
Welldone Agbaletu
I do enjoy each episode baba
More blessings
Now, people will now understand Mr. Sikiru Adepoju, when he said, working in the Ebenezer obey organization and hoping to succeed in the future it just wasting of value time.
Well said. Very true. That's despite the fact that Commander Obey's band was the then gold standard.
The more stars the band leaders has the more greedy they are
Keep the 🔥 burning Agbaletu

Please interview 'Femi Opalemo'
Tolu Obey only sing his father's old songs.

Shina peter don suffer this year kilode. He is the musician with most complaints from band boys and he is my role model o😢😢😢😢
😂😂😂
I love SSP too, but if all these complaints are coming from former band boys then he's a bad band leader
They also said that he molested some of his bands women, authorized his body guards to beat them and stripped them naked. He should be punished for that if in a sane country ….
😂you re on point
Yes, because he is a terrible person with deplorable, selfish and condemnable conducts.

Always sign contract base on percentage of total money made and Royalty shall be your retirement.
