I love Shina Peters from my youthful days. His prowess and wizardry on the guitar is out of this world. I had prophesied in 1977 to my friends that Shina would come to rule the music world someday. So I was overwhelmed with joy when ACE and others rule the airwaves. It’s unfortunate that reign is shorlived.
The reason is most of the musicians, like Shina, had limited education. But they learned along the way and they applied wisdom which Shina lacked.
You need wisdom to manage a brand. Talent alone is not enough. Shina is evidently arrogant, proud with childish behavior at unexpected moments. I don’t think he has a mentor who always correct or call him to order. And all these attributes are still evident in him till date. If entire band could leave enmass, then a lot is fundamentally wrong with such leader. He is not even exciting to watch on stage these days. I believe he can still rise to stardom but he needs to know that, yes Sir Shina Peter is a brand, he is only leading that group and that SSP is not all about him alone.

Being brought up in poverty has a way of moulding peoples’ behaviour, and this is especially the case with SSP. He never imagined himself this successful, hence, his unruly and incorrigible behaviours. Omo oju orola ri toso ra e lolaniyonu. All his band boys can’t be lying against him. No wonder he is not as successful as KSA and Chief commander Ebenezer Obey.

It is obvious that Mr. Dele Adeyanju met what he did not bargain for in this interview. His solid love for Sir Shina Peters indeed revealed in his conduct when he couldn't allow the interview to continue having observed that the guest was loaded with avalanche of stories to narrate to the world on some aspects of questionable characters of Sir Shina Peters that are unknown to the world.
Well, many thanks to Mr. Dele who later used his endowed wisdom to discontinue the interview for saving Sir Shina Peters in the hands of social bloggers .
I believe the interviewer didn’t end the interview because of his personal feelings. At the beginning of the interview, the interviewee said he only had about one hour for the interview. If not for that, I believe the interview would’ve be lengthier

@agbaletu…in the interview you did for Shina, he acknowledged his past mistakes and apologized to all the people he offended intentionally or not. It’s OK for this man to vent, but no human is perfect. In the race for survival, we all make mistakes. I think SSP is a better man today than he was 20 or 30 years ago.

You are right, o kin paro . I remembered the house Shina Adewale used to live at Ebute meta as I used to work near the house. As young guys then, we used to go and stay in front of the house so that we could have a glance of Shina Adewale.

This is a great interview. A master expose on Shina and his gra-gra way of live. We'd love to hear more of a "Tell it all" from Ogbeni Adewale Ajayi and other band members around of time.
Our society is very quick to judge and quick to anger. Every human has flaws. Shina Peters failing as a band leader didn't mean he failed entirely as a musician. I'll put it down to lack of wisdom cos rising tide lift all boats. I'm still surprised how he was able to put out great music with this bad energy.

He went for an interview and the lady who interviewed him was not satisfied and his visa was denied.
His visa refusal was attributed to his Yoruba family name, hence a voice spoke to him to change his name to Jewish name.

I didn't want you to limit the interview to Mr. Adewole Ajayi alone, finds some of the other band members to corroborate what Adewole said and get back with SSP himself to know his thoughts about these magnitudes of accusations.
I know most of the band members when they left SSP in Maryland, USA, in the year 1996.
It's a shame that those who started poor, were the first to forget about the grace of God in their lives so quickly. Be careful of how you treats people wherever God put you in a possible position of authority or if things are going good for you.
Tomorrow may be a different ballgame.
If it's true that SSP treated his former members like dogs 🐕 he should ask for forgiveness and tender an apology to them.

Wow! SSP has done so badly. I wondered why he's now nobody. I saw him on UA-cam, where he was playing at one restaurant and bar. He was horrible. I was almost saying he's not shina. He can barely hold his mic. I don't think he can sing for birds to dance. He has finished to be sincere.

He would instigate other band boys against band leaders, carry the whole money away, slept with mother and daughter in the US and was banished to Nigeria. This not first time o, Ali drummer was the first to mention that he slapped him, Agbaletu even mentioned it in the interview with Ssp to Ssp himself but he was like it's to ginger him to improve, and he apologized.

I will advise here that few people who worked with Bashir Ajani and Ayanlowo should be interviewed too to crosscheck their claims.
I have learnt Bashir is a very violenct man and that he was even banished from the US for rape... That he uses to hijack the whole money made in a party and block band leaders from band members. Cross checking should be done too not to just take it as a go that band boys are infallible on their own
