      Anne Boleyn came first and her execution made it "acceptable" for Henry to execute Katherine Howard later on. Also, Boleyn was the reason the Church of England became a thing in the first place and the fact that he had her killed after starting a whole new religion to marry her was ridiculous. She gave birth to one of England's greatest monarchs and all she gets in return is her head chopped off. So yeah her execution has more significance but Katherine Howard is definitely my favorite of his wives cause of everything she dealt with personally even before Henry and because of her youth.

      Kathrine Howard’s story is much more tragic than her beheaded cousin Anne Boleyn. She was treated more like “slut” when she was child, her first time having sex was at the age of 13 with Henry Mannox who was 23. For awhile she thinks all men have something in mind “Have sex and dumped you when they are bored of you”

      +agharp20 Do you really expect a fair trial from the French Revolutionaries. It was at best kangaroo courts, and at worst mob rule. There was no justice, or defense of individual rights.

    • @marigeobrien
      @marigeobrien 7 років тому +37

      Being from Austria had no bearing on her guilt or innocence. While Marie Antoinette was a sort of victim of the system, I suppose, the fact is, she was a stupid girl who saw no reason to use her position to help others but, instead, took advantage of it at the expense of the masses. In fact, both she and Louis were guilty of horrifically poor leadership.

    • @jos_meid
      @jos_meid 7 років тому +30

      Marige OBrien Even if the french system were bad, she had literally no power to change things. Were people suffering, like everywhere? Yes. Was that the exclusive fault of the french royalty/aristocracy? I would argue strongly no. Did that suffering stop after the revolution? Again, I would argue very strongly no. But the point is, even if it were exclusive fault of the french royalty/aristocracy, and even if it stopped after the revolution, she was convicted of an ex post facto crime, was given only the illusion of due process, and had no ability to prevent the alleged wrongdoing from happening in the first place. I stand by my earlier statement of it being a kangaroo court at best. I would also like to call into question your supposed 'fact' that "she was a stupid girl who saw no reason to use her position to help others but, instead, took advantage of it at the expense of the masses." In what way do you think was she a stupid girl? For being married to the king of a country that would later break out in revolution? In what way could she have used her position to help others? She was the wife of the king, but had otherwise no political power. In what way did she take advantage of it at the expense of the masses? By not changing a system that was literally centuries old, and one which she did not have the power to change anyway? I will agree with your final statement that "she and Louis were guilty of horrifically poor leadership." but I would say that being married to someone who is bad at their job is simply no reason to be put to death, or punished in any way for that matter.

      And even after that, she never wanted to believe Nicholas and her grandchildren were gone, but it wasn't any use, and after the Russian Revolution ended, she returned to Denmark to live with her nephew, King Christian X, and she then remained in Denmark until she died in 1928, having outlived four of her six children, the other two people to outlive Nicholas were his sisters Xenia and Olga, who both lived to 1960.

Whether or not he was the son of God, that's a whole-nother argument that I cant be bothered to getting into but for sure, his death was the most influential moment in history. In the last 2000 years, all the wars, all the dead women and children, countless lives lost can all be somewhat boiled down to the death of Jesus

    I'm not ashamed to admit that the execution of Ann Boleyn in the series "The Tudors" brought tears to my eyes. That was a beautifully made scene .... and a very sad one. On top of that, Natalie Dorner is one of my favorite actresses, and from what I know about the historical figure of Ann Boleyn... I like her. I like the English Reformation and her contributions to it. That trifecta was too much for my masculinity to bare.

It is unclear who gave the final order, as the committee that , theoretically, organized and represented the various partisan formations always denied giving it. The two most agreed upon theories, to my knowledge, are that either the order was given by a high-ranking communist liasion with the partisans or possibly by the formation's commander himself, who apparently had behaved in a similar way a few times in the past. Besides, there really wasn't a proper government in Italy after the armistice, the country being divded in two and the king having been stripped of his powers by the allies.

It took SEVERAL chops of the ax to kill her, and even more shocking, as the executioner grabbed the top of the severed head to raise it the public and said "God Save the Queen", the head fell down to the floor, and the shocked executioner was left holding a big bunch of hair!! Yes, Mary was wearing a wig. Her cousin, jailer, and longtime rival Elizabeth I was NOT pleased with how things went- despite everything, Mary WAS a queen.
