Gertrude's daughter was found guilty of partaking in the abuse towards Sylvia, but later changed her name and worked with children - once it was found out who she really was, she was immediately dismissed from the job.
@@debbieschultz9768 There was another one, Paula Pace, who was formally Paula Baniszewski. The one daughter who broke her arm beating Sylvia and then used the cast to beat her again. Karla was a different story, not the same as Paula
Yes it was Gertrude's daughter. Paula befriended Sylvia in school. She then assisted her mother along with brothers and sisters. In Sylvia's torture and murder. I used to live in Indianapolis I was about 12 years old when this happened it was horrible what they did to her.

Wow thanks for the info on the drawing of the hands..... I have been affected by the case for years idk why but anyhoo this is the first time I have heard about that so thanks again..... I consider myself thick skinned about true crime but this case and the boy in the box case really got to me 😭 so thanks again for the info 😀
@AlexMR oh its even worse than you think it was the brother of her attorney so he knows ful wellwhat she was accused of and still married her and had 3 kids by her 🥹Mindblowing!
I had a sister like that she mentally and physically abused me. She’s was the golden child in our family but later when our mom moved to be closer to her the two of them ended up disliking each other. I made a point of living as far away as possible from both. Later on as adults I had planned a surprise for our dad who never had a chance to watch us grow up. We went out to go dancing with our nephew and she tried coming on to me. I just looked at her got away. After our dad passed away I refused to talk with her because she’s the kind of person you don’t want to turn your back on. Really creepy. I’ve since learned to protect and educate myself with toxic behaviors after experiencing the relationships of the narcissist. When I start detecting what I recognize as toxic I leave skid marks away from that person. There’s a lot of people out there who are not behind bars but should be .
Griselda Blanco has to be number 1 to be a boss in that game and grow up in a country with the highest murder rate at the time. She’s ordered and killed so many to get to the top and she enjoyed it
No Katherine Knight?!?! She should've at least got a mention, because she didn't just kill her boyfriend, she cooked him up and ate him. Also Katherine Knight was a deranged angry woman and very possessive of all the men she dated.
According to Deadly Women season 1 episode 1, Bathory has a living descendant who actually is a good person. He even went to Hungary and visit the villages Bathory terrorized and appologized to them for her actions. The villages accepted his apology.
Martha Beck who was 1/2 of the Lonely Hearts Killers (with Raymond Fernandez ) was suspected of 17 murders deserved a dishonourable mention. She was convicted of one murder and executed in 1951. It was the basis of the movie The Honeymoon Killers
I just had an argument about this case less than an hour ago. Karla was the one who acquired the medication used to k*ll Tammy (the anesthetic, halothane, that was stolen from the veterinary office where Karla worked at the time). It's pretty awful that she's free now. She's just as guilty as Paul is, if not more.
@@hollyhayes9640 And she helped with the abductions and confinements of the others - she openly admitted to those. As time moves forward there have been other victims that are being investigated, believed to be attributed to them also.
You are so right. She has often been a footnote in Karla's crimes. As horrific as all of the murders Homolka/Bernardo committed, Tammy's was the worst. I mean really, the evil bitch drugged her, raped her and murdered her and didn't shed a tear for her own innocent little sister. It doesn't get any more evil than that.
I remember being threatened with Minnie Dean as a kid growing up in New Zealand. She was known as the Southland Witch, and we kids were terrified of her. For some reason we thought she ate the babies, which she didn't.
I remembered that couple from Canada... the last victim..they dismembered her and put her body parts in wet cement... when authorities found her... it was different body parts in square shape like cement .. it wasn't even dry... blood and cement was dripping off to the pavements.. crazy SOB's and this B got married over again and have 3 kids... Lord have mercy
I had friends and family who had connections to the victims and perpetrators. One played soccer with Hamalka’s sister. Another worked side by side with Hamalka’s mom. Another was a teacher of Hamalka, and everyday drove by the lake where one of the victims was dumped. I worked with the aunt of Christine French the second victim. A bus driver friend swears that he saved a girl’s life who Bernardo was stalking late at night. The girl let him know she was very afraid and wanted off. He let her off the bus ahead of her stop, and then closed the doors before that scumbag could get out. He said Bernardo freaked out on him screaming and threatening him. My cousin was head of security in a mall in Scarborough, Ontario in 1989. At the time, the cops suspected Bernardo in many unsolved rape cases there. Bernard worked somewhere in that mall. My cousin was told to always have a guard watching him every second he was on mall property. This was several years before the murders. The police agencies in Toronto and Niagra didn't share the information. It was an awful case that didn't need happen. There were many slip ups by law enforcement including the deal made with Hamalka. Most people in 🇨🇦 have a really hard time accepting the fact she is now free.
@@Scornonthecob Oh My God.... I could imagine how the people of Canada feels .... I never knew the couple.. I've seen clips, and interviews, pictures but never really watched the story if the couple and the crimes they commented until I saw Autopsy... and the documentary talked about the couple, how they're met, and the killing of her sister.. which I was livid about. Then the murders of the 2 young girls... the cement and the parts.... they showed a still photo of the girls head... I was just outdone, angry and crying.. I never knew thus couple was that evil
Not surprise to see Bathory high on the list. She was considered one of the worse serial killer that predated Jack-the-Ripper (meaning she wouldn't be recognize as a serial killer until after Jack the Ripper murders, but instead as an evil female killer), Too be fair, Jack the Ripper pretty much change history of how we view all killers by introducting world to serial killers like himself, so it's understandable before him someone like Bathory would be underestimated at just how evil they are as what we now consider serial killers.
problem with Bathory is while it's certain she killed *someone* in her castle, the evidence we have shows she didn't act alone and A LOT of her crimes were likely exaggerated. And considering people only really had a problem with her behavior once she killed another noble, it's reasonable to suggest her predilections towards cruelty and murder towards the common folk weren't TOO unusual among the aristocracy.
in season 1 episode 1 of the series deadly women, it is theorized that her crimes were actually a frame job that was started by the king of hungary due to the fact that she inherited land and the king owed her a debt which would no longer exist if she was arrested.... i dont know how true that was, nobody really knows, but as history has shown us, people of noble birth (up to the days of the current era) were taught that their people were merely like rodents beneath their feet, meant to serve them and nothing more... some of them were benevolent rulers who cared about their subjects.... bathory more than likely was not one of those, considering that she was told from a young age that she was above her subjects, not equal
@@kyuven Of course it wasn't. The Aristocracy always considered themselves above the common people so much that they could get away with anything. Even if the church were to condemn them, the king or queen ain't gonna do shit to them unless what the noble was doing was like REALLY bad (like Gilles de Rey molesting children and then killing them for satanic purposes) and even then the noble would be given a lighter punishment than if they were a peasant murderer.
What surprises most of us is the question, "How could any woman do such horrible things?" That this was a woman involved in such crimes confuses the most. Once you consider she's human and flawed, your answer emerges.
Myra Hindley’s mugshot is permanently etched into my brain. It is the ultimate expression of feminine evil. EDIT: It chills me so much in fact, that one of the villains of my novel has a giant, backlit image of her mugshot above her throne. Just to show how her domain is essentially a shrine to evil.
There's a documentary on Channel 4 about the moors murderers. They bring their mugshots to life. That's freaky. Worth a watch but be warned! Her black cold eyes move in a way that no horror movie could ever re-create.
I don’t think anyone is worse than Gertrude and Paula Baniszewski! I’m horrified at how easy they got off after the horrifying things they did to Sylvia Likens! *Edit: Ok, you got me with Delphine LaLaurie…forgot about her; But I say those 2 women were the WORST!*
Angela Nova Karla Homolka drugged her 14 year old sister so her Boyfriend oat the time they married later after Tamy's murder but before the other 2 ould rape her then Karla smothered her with her own hands so she could not tell anyone and out of Jealousy over Paul's sick obsession with the sister Karla was mad he was more attracted to her sister than to her !!!!!!!!! Karla even called leting him do that to her baby sister a Early Christmas Gift to him!
@@aprilgosa5779 OMG Yes, that’s really sick; You got me. But Sylvia Likens was BRUTALLY TORTURED for MONTHS - daily, systematically,…just definition of evil in my eyes. and her tormentors barely got a slap on the wrist from the “justice” system; OR SHOULD I SAY “Legal System”, (because the two are Not synonymous in my opinion)! But also, I know I should not be framing it like it’s a competition; ALL victims suffered unimaginable horrors that hopefully, none of us or our loved ones will ever know! Sylvia Likens story just hit me personally and made me sick to my stomach in a way worse than some of the others; I think it was the on-going, systematic torture - but these are ALL horrible of course! For anyone that wants to hear a possibly EVEN worse story, AND HAS A STRONG STOMACH! - there is a little talked about story about a woman in the UK who was tortured terribly, not only physically, but psychologically - google “UK Chucky torture victim” or something to that effect - they used the doll “chucky” as part of the torture. I couldn’t get it out of my head for DAYS after learning about it. I dare say it might be the same or worse than what Sylvia Linkens went through. 😖 *TRIGGER AND SICKNESS WARNINGS! Please do NOT google EITHER the Sylvia Likens or Chucky torture case UNLESS YOU ARE SURE YOU CAN HANDLE IT! 😣
If I can recall correctly, I heard that Gertrude Baniszewski forced her daughter Paula & Jenny Lykens into torturing Sylvia Likens up to the point where Sylvia eventually died. It doesn’t excuse Paula for her actions, but if she should have anyone to blame for her getting sentenced to life in prison before eventually getting released, it’s without a doubt her mother. Why else would Gertrude Baniszewski be labeled as 1 of the worst mothers in history, let alone 1 of the most evil women in history now? Any mother can be evil, but of course almost never this evil.
Last I heard Griselda Blanco's youngest son is still alive and have not taken part in the family business of the drug cartel. Considering his interview with Evil Lives Here with how she tried to raise him to be ignorant to the drug cartel going on around him, I say that might actually be what Griselda wanted for him.
I first read about the Likens murder years ago, and I saw the movie about it called "An American Crime," as well as a film entitled "The Girl Next Door," which was a fictionalized version of the case with the names of the principle characters changed (no doubt to "protect the innocent," as they used to say on "Dragnet"). Even the year was changed. I also saw the actual case being dramatized in a segment from "Born Bad," which was an episode of "Deadly Women," on the Investigation Discovery (I.D.) cable network.
@@codeblackfanandthegooddoct7070 Would it surprise you if Gertrude was labeled as a sadist after a psychologist had Gertrude draw a self portrait as a form of psychological exam and Gertrude draw claws for her fingers. At least that's what was said in Deadly Women.

I forgot about Aileen, but I was surprise Knight wasn't mention as well. There are just too many evil women out there. The show Deadly Women is proof of that.
The sylvia linkens case made me angry and also glad that death sentence still exists in my country. Such a mess the justice system in the usa had failed that little angel
The death penalty is a joke I say if your convicted and sentenced to death penalty you die that day. But no. There are people that sit on death row for so long that they die of old age It’s fucking ridiculous
@chyndb death penalty is justice. The joke is that a murder who tortured a 16-year-old girl to death has been released from prison. The joke that a monster like dahmer didn't get a death penalty 😑
I will not argue that there are people who deserve to die for what they did. But, until we can guarantee that not one innocent person is executed, we should not have it. Currently, conservative estimates put the number at 4% of death row inmates being innocent. That's conservative, it's likely much higher. Imagine a bus full of people. These are murderers, people who have done awful things, people like the women in this list... except for two of them. Two of them are completely innocent. You cannot tell one from another. You have two choices: Either push the bus over a cliff, killing everyone in board, or sending everyone in it to prison. And here's a question: If we, the people, execute an innocent person, doesn't that make us murderers? Shouldn't we all be executed, then? There's also a race discrepancy. A Black man killing a white man is far, FAR more likely to get the death penalty than a white man killing a Black man. How is that just? What are your answers to these problems?
@@chyndb Even with the current long wait, we end up executing innocent people. What you're suggesting would end in many, MANY more innocent people dying. The youngest person executed in the 20th century was a 14 year old Black boy, accused (most likely falsely) of killing two young white girls. From the time of the murders to his execution, only around 80 days had passed. Conservative estimates say at least 4% of people on death row are innocent. It's likely much more. Many have been proven innocent thanks to DNA. What you are suggesting will absolutely KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE. That makes all of us, including you, a murderer.
I feel like I predicted the future. I wanted 20 evil couples and thought about it, and there it is. And then I thought about the 20 evil women recently, and here it is. I absolutely love listening to Rebecca narrate videos about true crime. It’s fascinating.
Also it was said Elizabeth Báthory drained women of their blood and she took baths in said blood, in an effort to remain young. That's how she was later nicknamed Lady Dracula
I was waiting for her to show up. And I don't buy that stuff she was framed. I was kind of hoping those old women who murdered homeless men would show up, but since they just killed two when they were arrested, they would have been small fry in this company.
I am a "baby boomer" guy of German heritage , I don't hate Jews , and my father was in the U.S. Army Air Force fighting and killing our crazy German cousins during the "ANTI-HITLER WAR" of World War Two . I don't know how many people he killed , but apparently it affected him so bad that he became an alcoholic . I saw him beat my mother ( he never beat us three kids) and she left him and divorced him when I was five . I think that it was horrible how Germans could mistreat and kill millions of Jews during the war ! The movie "SCHINDLER'S LIST" filmed in black and white really and honestly gave a perspective into the horrors of that war ! It is interesting to note that not all cruel Nazis were men !
Not only that, but she made it happen in a time period of six years. And one has to remember that Madagascars population before her rampage was just 5 million. In relative terms, she just might be the bloodiest ruler in history of mankind.

It seems like these “crimes against humanity” should be automatic life sentence. Some of these women got very light sentences for there crimes. Especially number 1.
I absolutely agree! I can't believe that some of these woman are out living normal lives. Life sentences for all ,and in some cases, the death sentence!
My friend sent me this video because my Master's thesis was on the genocidal aspects of the Bosnian War. This video scratched the surface of how evil Plavsic was. 1) Before the war, she used her career as a biology professor at the University of Sarajevo to justify genocide against non-Serbs, particularly Muslims, by stating that [paraphrasing] "only people of 'genetically-deformed material' would be attracted to the religion of Islam." 2) She facilitated the movement of paramilitaries from Serbia who pulled a lot of weight in razing Muslim villages and carrying out executions, including the Srebrenica genocide. 3) She was vice-president during the war but as soon as she became president after Radovan Karadzic, she threw Karadzic under the bus to usurp political power for herself and became the center figure of a political crisis that nearly resparked civil war in Bosnia. 4) She only plead guilty and wrote that speech about remorse to get a light sentence but she would later go on to admit *after her sentence was over* that she lied about feeling remorse and that she only plead guilty as a necessary sacrifice for her male compatriots (i.e. she expected them to thank her for taking the fall for them). She hoped for a light sentence on the basis that she was the only woman sent to the ICTY and that her speech would make the jurors think that she only participated in the war to gain political favor with Republika Srpska's male leaders. She's still alive today at almost 93-years-old and is free to walk around. Several academic articles and interviews have been written about the way she weaponized her individual femininity to get away with committing Europe's second most devastating 20th century genocide.
The list could have been filled solely with Nazi guards. I don't think many people know that there were several women in charge at the camps that some prisoners said "were worse than than the men".
Yep... 1800's was not a good time for a certain group of people whom BTW That constitution still labels them as non-human, but as the old saying goes Karma is a b!tch...
They left out my ex-boss. I was terrified of her, I felt sick whenever she was in the room. She'd humiliate me at every opportunity. I couldn't sleep because of her, I lost loads of weight because she wouldn't let me have a break. (I could feel my ribs 😭) The journey there and back took almost two hours, I'd always arrive exhausted. I lost my job after I had an epileptic absence (I don't remember, all I remember I was panicking. I needed help in that moment, but couldn't ask) and she made out like it was my fault and I had to be interviewed by the company. Oh, yeah, like I can control my epilepsy! Thank Jesus the company relocated me to a different branch. (10 minutes from my house, too. WHOO!!!) Everyone there is so kind, they actually support me with my additional/learning needs and I love working with them ❤
Sheesh! Your former boss sounds like a real life Miranda Priestley. If so; I hope that reading the 2003 novel "The Devil Wears Prada" or watching its 2006 film adaptation doesn't bring back those bad memories. Still, I am happy for you to have found a new job with coworkers who support you and it's a lot closer to your home. I have seizures myself but I am able to keep them under control with medication. When I first watched "The Devil Wears Prada" I ended up being convinced that gray, silver or white hair can be stylish or visually appealing even though Meryl Streep wore a wig to get into character.
Paula Baniszewski, now Paula Pace used to live in my hometown after she was paroled. She was a teacher's aide in Conrad, Iowa until her past was discovered. It is my understanding that her mom, Getrude also lived in small town of south of my hometown in Iowa.
I wonder how those two managed to find anyone to employ them with their pasts, how did they explain away the years where they couldn't account for themselves and what they were doing... unless they were honest and said they were in prison for murder, but Paula was not honest about it, which was why she was fired.
@@gailmiler2797 They both went by different names and yes Paula lied. Paula was paroled in 72 and Gertrude in the 80s, background checks would have been different then.
BTW, Misha Collins is so freaked out by the role of Bernardo that he played in the movie, Karla, about the Bernardo case, he doesn't include the film in his resume!
When you abolish the death penalty because you consider it too heinous for criminals, so, when the most heinous crime is committed all you can do is stand by and realize that the sadistic murderers of children are going to rot for life on your dime. Yep, nothing like making a permanent decision in the middle of emotional furor.
@@sirtaelellevalerie1056In addition; it is much more costly to sentence criminals to be executed as opposed to giving them lengthy prison sentences due in no small part to the numerous appeals death row inmates file.
When reciting the nursery rhyme "Mary Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow", one would normally think of a flower garden and not a burial site for religious martyrs.
A Walt Disney cartoon called "The Truth About Mother Goose" wrongly said that the "Mary Quite Contrary" rhyme was based, not on Queen Mary The First of England (AKA "Bloody Mary"), but on Mary Stuart, better known as Mary, Queen Of Scots.

I’m done with True Crime. Our thirst for murder outweighs our search for human decency. We value the killer over the victim. I was a fan so I have no room to talk but I’m ready for peace in my life.
As this story went on I realized my jaw was clenched and I was actualy trembling . My personal values and vision of women as caregivers/ nurtureers I is at odds with these women's behaviors . . Realistically I know women can be just as viciously murderous as men, and it's hard for me to believe humans can be so inhumane to others. My parents have never hit me and I'm able to say I've only raised my hand to another one time in my life. At 75, it's one thing I can feel no shame about as I look at my life. It truly has brought me some peace and satisfaction about some of life's choices. It was harder to refrain from verbal aggression.!!

What's with the justice system? When found guilty of crimes against humanity, there is no redemption for you. Why do people get parole eligibility for crimes of this nature. Makes me sick that a person convicted of crimes against humanity would ever see freedom. It's called paying a debt, and when you take lives, you pay with yours either in death or unending servitude.
Great video! Interestingly, I believed I knew most serial killers. But this list of yours I only knew about Rose West and Fred West , Griselda Blanco , and madame Delphine Lalaurie ( but i thought she was created from TV show American Horror Story, so that doesn't count ha-ha). Do you take orders? If so, do for the African cannibals. Man, I've read some sick and crazy things about them.
And yet Milosovec, a man, was treated more harshly. Biljana Plavsic should have gotten life. The Sylvia Likens story is one of the most horrific I have ever read of. To this day, I can't listen to or read about the horrific abuse she suffered. That her siblings, the other children and even the neighbours all participated in the abuse speaks to the general horror of the human condition, and just how gross and cruel we humans are at our very core.
It was already done; and (Spoiler Alert) Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold are number one on this countdown for their having perpetrated the infamous shooting at Columbine High School in 1999.
Another woman you should take a look at adding to your list, "Nelda Stark" from Orange, Texas. The book, "If the Devil had a Wife," is an account of all of the people, husband and many others she killed and stole from. It is an unbelievable true story that culminated not to long ago.
Dear friends of Watchmojo, maybe you could look for the story of Íngrid Olderöck, aka "The woman of the dogs". Maybe she would have earned a place on this list
Not so fun fact: Mary killed far fewer people than her sister Elizabeth, but the latter is a hero and the former a devil, because history is always written by the winners. Mary had a very sad, horrible life, and, while this dosen't excuse burning people at the stake, she's no more brutal a ruler than her contemoraries.
There’s so many but Brenda Spencer better be on the list. Period. As evil and twisted as evil comes. Edit: she should’ve been on the list. Look her name up if you don’t know the name.
Or even Amy Jo Bishop. Amy Jo is responsible for the shooting at the University of Alabama Huntsville campus in January of 2010. She was motivated to do this as revenge for being fired. Amy is currently serving Life in Prison at the Julia Tutwiler Prison for Women in Wetumpka, AL.
Wu Zetian is an odd choice for this list. I feel you added her for "diversity" or something. She was a ruler who acted as cuthroat as any other ruler in such times.
Well, i heard she was quite notorious even by chinese ruler standards... Then again, maybe it was just because they didn't expect such level of cruelty from woman?🤔
Carla was DISGUSTING what she did to her little sister on Xmas night what she allowed her husband HORRIBLE to do to her Minor little sister what THEY DID TOGETHER TO THAT GIRL WAS HORRIDOUS
Hungarian authorities at the time destroying all evidence of Bathory's alleged crimes can mean only one thing, a cover up. Considering her inherited wealth, the substantial amount of land she owned, and the fact that the Hungarian king at the time was financially indebted to her, it is obvious that she was murdered by order of the king. Because her castle contained an oubliette, she was probably responsible for a handful of murders. Because every noble had an oubliette around that time, and every noble used them. Regardless, the crimes that she was accused of seem far too outlandish to have been true.
Why is Elizabeth Bathory on the list if, as even the narrator concedes, many of the charges against her were never proven, and that they were probably made up for political reasons? In other words, she may have been innocent. So how can she be considered one of the "20 most evil women in history"?

Who the hell would marry Karla Holmolka like she's disgusting she did it to her own sister
@AlexMR oh its even worse than you think it was the brother of her attorney so he knows ful wellwhat she was accused of and still married her and had 3 kids by her 🥹Mindblowing!
He loves his women SUPER toxic smh

The male version of any one of those bitches sending love notes to Ramirez AKA the Night Stalker...

She should've at least got a mention, because she didn't just kill her boyfriend, she cooked him up and ate him.
Also Katherine Knight was a deranged angry woman and very possessive of all the men she dated.
She put out name cards for his kids too, she planned on feeding them their own father
Katherine Knight is also the only woman in Australia that is serving life in prison. Hopefully she is not allowed to work in the prison kitchen.

Martha Beck who was 1/2 of the Lonely Hearts Killers (with Raymond Fernandez ) was suspected of 17 murders deserved a dishonourable mention. She was convicted of one murder and executed in 1951. It was the basis of the movie The Honeymoon Killers
I'm glad that Tammy Homolka is remembered here. I would often find articles talking about their "two victims". It was like she never even existed.

@@mdeysenroth exactly.... she killed her sister wtf

She was pretty nasty. But, don't forget Vlad the Impaler. Not a woman, as far as I know (most rulers were/are gender benders), but still nasty.
It makes me wonder if creatures like Werewolves, Vampires and Skinwalkers were ancient explanations for serial killers.
in season 1 episode 1 of the series deadly women, it is theorized that her crimes were actually a frame job that was started by the king of hungary due to the fact that she inherited land and the king owed her a debt which would no longer exist if she was arrested.... i dont know how true that was, nobody really knows, but as history has shown us, people of noble birth (up to the days of the current era) were taught that their people were merely like rodents beneath their feet, meant to serve them and nothing more... some of them were benevolent rulers who cared about their subjects.... bathory more than likely was not one of those, considering that she was told from a young age that she was above her subjects, not equal
What surprises most of us is the question, "How could any woman do such horrible things?"
That this was a woman involved in such crimes confuses the most. Once you consider she's human and flawed, your answer emerges.
Myra Hindley’s mugshot is permanently etched into my brain. It is the ultimate expression of feminine evil. But Sylvia Likens was BRUTALLY TORTURED for MONTHS - daily, systematically,…just definition of evil in my eyes.

But also, I know I should not be framing it like it’s a competition;
ALL victims suffered unimaginable horrors that hopefully, none of us or our loved ones will ever know!
*TRIGGER AND SICKNESS WARNINGS!

The sylvia linkens case made me angry and also glad that death sentence still exists in my country. Such a mess the justice system in the usa had failed that little angel
The death penalty is a joke
I say if your convicted and sentenced to death penalty you die that day.

I was waiting for her to show up. And I don't buy that stuff she was framed. I was kind of hoping those old women who murdered homeless men would show up, but since they just killed two when they were arrested, they would have been small fry in this company.

My friend sent me this video because my Master's thesis was on the genocidal aspects of the Bosnian War. This video scratched the surface of how evil Plavsic was.
1) Before the war, she used her career as a biology professor at the University of Sarajevo to justify genocide against non-Serbs, particularly Muslims, by stating that [paraphrasing] "only people of 'genetically-deformed material' would be attracted to the religion of Islam."
2) She facilitated the movement of paramilitaries from Serbia who pulled a lot of weight in razing Muslim villages and carrying out executions, including the Srebrenica genocide.

What? No Lizzy Borden or Aileen Wuornos??? 🤔
The Lizzy Borden situation is blown way out of proportion. Yeah she killed them or whatever but the whole 40 whacks thing is very overshot.
Lizie was found not guilty we have no proof she did it her uncle could have too
@@chyndb were you with her do you know she did it ?
@@aprilgosa5779 Shut up
@@aprilgosa5779 She was acquitted
I'm surprised Aileen Wuornos, Juana Barraza, and Jodi Arias didn't make the list
Same with Patty Colombo
What about Lizzie Borden?

The only thing I learned was they all got lighter sentences than men with smaller kill counts

The Duluth model,

I honestly believe Belle Gunness faked her death. I mean the female skeleton was the only one corpse decapitated and it was smaller than Belle.
Human Remain Tea cakes & soap!? Holy **Censored**! 😳
Mojo: They endured horrible acts.

The one aspect that comes out of this was that these women were not just murderous but the cruelty they directed towards their victims.
Evil has no Gender.
I agree
Thanks Captain Obvious.
Two words: Casey Anthony
Yes!!!!
Yup
keep up the serial killer videos, do top 10 craziest dictators next (updated).
And yet Milosovec, a man, was treated more harshly. Biljana Plavsic should have gotten life. The Sylvia Likens story is one of the most horrific I have ever read of. To this day, I can't listen to or read about the horrific abuse she suffered. That her siblings, the other children and even the neighbours all participated in the abuse speaks to the general horror of the human condition, and just how gross and cruel we humans are at our very core.
how about louise turpin?
Yup

Eleven years for crimes against humanity? JUST 11 years?
Top 10 most evil children/adolescents in history.
I think that's already done, but only top 10
That should be the next topic in this course of evil people in history.
It was already done; and (Spoiler Alert) Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold are number one on this countdown for their having perpetrated the infamous shooting at Columbine High School in 1999.
These aren't the most evil women in the world. They are the most evil that have been exposed.
They made a movie about Gertrude called An American Crime. One of the most disturbing movies I ever seen.
It’s amazing how some of these events and people inspire the horror genre
Another woman you should take a look at adding to your list, "Nelda Stark" from Orange, Texas. The book, "If the Devil had a Wife," is an account of all of the people, husband and many others she killed and stole from. It is an unbelievable true story that culminated not to long ago.
Dear friends of Watchmojo, maybe you could look for the story of Íngrid Olderöck, aka "The woman of the dogs".
Maybe she would have earned a place on this list
I see what you’re saying. She was that bad! I had to google her to find out
Not so fun fact: Mary killed far fewer people than her sister Elizabeth, but the latter is a hero and the former a devil, because history is always written by the winners.
The Boomtown Rats song,
"I Don't Like Mondays" is about her.
I wonder how many people
who've heard the song know that.

Wow, i thought Aleen warnos and the manson ladies would be on this list
Hungarian authorities at the time destroying all evidence of Bathory's alleged crimes can mean only one thing, a cover up. Considering her inherited wealth, the substantial amount of land she owned, and the fact that the Hungarian king at the time was financially indebted to her, it is obvious that she was murdered by order of the king. Because her castle contained an oubliette, she was probably responsible for a handful of murders. Because every noble had an oubliette around that time, and every noble used them. Regardless, the crimes that she was accused of seem far too outlandish to have been true.
Yay Elizabeth Bathory is on the list!❤❤❤
That woman is probably the most sadistic serial killer I’ve ever read about
She like the OG evil woman
Why is Elizabeth Bathory on the list if, as even the narrator concedes, many of the charges against her were never proven, and that they were probably made up for political reasons? In other words, she may have been innocent. So how can she be considered one of the "20 most evil women in history"?
