I would add: Nicolae Ceaușescu (Romanian dictator, instant loss of power, trial and execution with wife), Charles 1 (first king to be executed), Oliver Cromwell (was executed after death), Lavrentiy Beria (most powerful Stalin's butcher, was executed after his master's death (but not the only butcher to be executed)), Giordano Bruno (most famous executed scientist), Marinus van der Lubbe (first to be executed by Nazi's, that execution allowed Hitler to get the full power of Germany), Fyodor Dostoevsky (one of the greatest writers, was nearly executed but last second pardoned).

In the book Espionage during the World War, in which historians, officers and former secret service agents have collaborated, it is mentioned that "Mata Hari did great things for Germany; she was the courier for our informants installed abroad or in enemy countries... Mata Hari was well aware of military matters, having been trained in one of our best information schools... She was a brand agent. »
In 1937, "Miss Doctor", Fräulein Schragmüller, who ran the German spy center in Antwerp, published her memoirs. She reveals about Mata Hari: "Not one of the news she sent was usable, and her information had no political and military interest for us." She acknowledged, however: "The conviction was deserved and in keeping with the spirit of the military code."
    ...
Not useless at all. She was a spy so she was executed.

Not very famous around the world, but some gruesome executions:
Balthasar Gerards was tortured and executed in very brutal ways in 1584 after he murdered the Dutch leader, Willem van Oranje Nassau.
Jacopo de' Pazzi was also tortured and executed, but he tried to kill the leaders of Florence, Lorenzo and Giuliano de Medici. After his burial he was dug up and his body was dragged through the streets asides many other things because the people of the town were pretty angry at him too.

is Catherine Howard's really more famous/infamous than Anne Boleyn's? And Marie Antoinette probably more in/famous than Louis. Mata Hari more than Edith Cavell?
Walter Ralegh also probably had William Shakespeare poisoned.
You leave out Charles I of England/Scotland (a.k.a. 'Charles the Martyr' for some reason), who was negotiating how he would continue to rule England with the victors who were holding him prisoner, when he started a second civil war.
    - also Guido Fawkes, who gives the British a party occasion every November.
    - Joan of Arc?

in the history of the Malays in Malaysia, there is a very famous story of the death penalty, which is the killing of Mahsuri which happened in 1819. This story is not yet known as a historical event and even as a legend of the Malay nation. This is because it is believed that after Mahsuri was killed for slander by her own in-laws who accused her of committing adultery, she swore that the island of Langkawi where this event took place would be miserable for seven generations. The island of Langkawi and the state of Kedah, a state in the north of Malaysia, were attacked by the Siamese army. (Thai). This curse is believed to have just ended at the end of the 1990s, when Mahsuri's heirs, the seventh generation, were born.

The only time they dressed and acted like royals were during public events or when they had to take a family picture. Stop treating them like they deserved to die. The only ones who did were their parents, who screwed Russia in the first place. Also, of course, the little boy Alexi would be pissed. I only wonder what Louis XVI could have accomplished if he didn't have such financial troubles, as most of which was caused not just by his grandfather, Louis XV, and the horrible end of the Seven Years' War, but also his wife, Marie Antoinette.... and her Extravagant spending, largely due to her ideals of englithened Absolutism that came from her mother, Maria Theresa of Austria ( who is actually considered one of the greatest enlightened rulers )
Not to mention, he did become a constitutional monarchy in 1792, when he had given up his absolute power, but such an action came too late, and I honestly wonder what he could have done for France, had he lived... though we get a somewhat idea, as the short lived constitutional monarchy of France, lived through Louis XVI's brother, Louis XVIII.

10:24 Okay, PLEASE. PLEASE. Start researching more thoroughly!! While Elizabeth did view Mary as a POTENTIAL political threat, that WASN'T the main reason Mary was imprisoned and later executed!!
She was imprisoned because Elizabeth wasn't convinced that she wasn't involved in Darnley's murder; and harboring her without taking that precaution would only ignite more trouble with Scotland, because Scotland HATED MARY!! How would it look if a queen allowed a wanted criminal and murderer to just kinda hang around at court?! Scotland wasn't Elizabeth's biggest fan, Scotland hated Mary, so in order to appease Scotland, Elizabeth kept Mary under house arrest (in, might I add, pretty friggen sweet digs!!)
Mary was later executed because, in her INFINITE wisdom, she started writing letters talking about "I really SHOULD be queen of England. I think I wanna be queen! Yeah, I'm gonna be queen! Let's kill Elizabeth so I can be queen!" And SHOCK! SOMEONE FOUND THE LETTERS!! So she was executed!! Which is what a ruler DID when they had evidence of a murder plot against them!
"Oooo, Lizzy was THREATENED so the jealous WITCH locked poor lil Mary up in prison!" Absolutely not! In this house, we don't DOWNPLAY assassination schemes!!
