Thanks for bringing back my childhood memories! Remember the first time having a clump of playdough in your hands? Your braying layers and layers just got me so excited! Thanks for getting me back into paints and stencils!
I enjoyed watching you create, gel press is still new to me so appreciate all the good tips on uses. The Delusion journel you used is my favorite journel to create in, paper is axing to work with
This looks so relaxing! I totally want to get the supplies now and try! I struggle with not wanting to start projects because I want them to be perfect, but none of this is perfect and it's fantastic! Thanks for sharing your process!
You already understand the problem: focusing on the result. (Takes some people a long time to figure that out.) Playing will free you from the disappointment of not creating what you want and, ironically, playing is the only way to get results you love.
I didn’t think I’d interested in something so creative but this looks so fun. I think this will be a great activity to do with my very creative daughter this summer before she goes off to college. Maybe she can make some for her dorm room. Thanks Ali! As always love your videos!
Wonderful! I can see me getting into the "zone" for hours (days?) playing with this stuff. Thank you thinking out of the box (and getting me to do it too)! Really fun.
Hi, Ali! Thinking it would be neat to release a paper pack of your papers? Although it is fun to create these, your results are fabulous! Just thinking out loud. Thank you for your inspiration!
Oh great! Now I have to go spend money again. 😆🙈 When I first saw the art journal stuff I thought ‚nah, that’s not for me‘, but then you showed the framed pictures and I was sold on the idea. LOVED the colorful prints in the simple white frames. Now I need to get to work. 😃
Good question - I honestly have no idea the actual specifics. The deli paper seems thinner than the parchment paper I have in the kitchen. Someone recommended this previously and it's what I've been using since!
Your framed prints are beautiful! I bought a gelli plate YEARS ago and have never used it. I love how you used it here! I will definitely be getting it out to play! Do you clean the plates when you are all finished? If so, what do you use?
I don't clean them mainly because I sometimes like the left over paint that will come up in future prints. You can totally clean them - I'd just use water.
Your framed prints are fabulous!! Julie is teaching a year long gelli printing class which I can highly recommend if anyone wants to take a deep dive into this process.
I know! He would not stop. If I make him leave the room he will scratch on the door the whole time too. It was around 3 in the afternoon and he was already ready for his 5pm dinner.

This is so great for that!
Love this and so excited to play more freely with these products!!!
So much fun, just playing. I always have an end result in mind and it never turns out as expected. I should just play.

I love that idea! It's really a fun, playful, imperfect way to connect your head + heart + hands. Have fun!
So so cool! 💙💚💙

EXCELLENT ideas! LOVE IT! (:
Thanks for the inspiration!! Love it and your cat!!
Thank you! The cat was definitely a little intense today - ha!
Thanks Ali, that was fun.
Thanks Carlee!
Great video! Such a cool technique
So loved this idea!
have you ever had like debris on your brayer after applying the paint? how do you work on your plate in such a way you never ever lift paint from it?
I totally love that wonky 'x' or plus sign stencil! Where may I ask did you get it?

It's such a nice break/addition to my other memory keeping projects! Love the chance to just play.
I thought the same thing and then loved the results
Hey would this work on recycled paper?
Amazing idea my friend 💕
How does deli paper compare to regular kitchen parchment paper?

@@AliEdwardsDesignInc Thank you!!
Niamh Baly and Robyn McClendon are also awesome resources for gelli printing.
Oh cool! I'll check them out too - thank you!

Awesome!
is it me or when you did the small x and o it looked like a head on top of the o?

Oh cool! I will definitely check that out!
Do you have a link to Julie's class?
You did Gelli printing in a One Little Word prompt last year. July maybe?
Ah yes! I think that was it - thank you!
@@AliEdwardsDesignInc yes! That was it. I absolutely loved it then and ended up making my own gelli plate 🤣 It's such an interesting new toy
@@abigaelmacritchie1365 Oh that's awesome! I'm having a hard time getting the other stuff done today that I need to do because I just want to play.
Could we use your brand of acrylic paint?
Of course!
Your cat has a lot to say, Ali. 😹😹😹

@@AliEdwardsDesignInc I love talkative cats. And I love when cats make an appearance in crafty videos. 😹😹😹
Soul Reign Art (UA-cam)/Queenpreneur (Instagram) does amazing things with a gelli plate! She is a great source of inspiration!
Yes! Thanks Carolyn!
