Giraffe Build Series! This is the part 3 of a multiple part series on building giraffes!
Today is Day 194 of the Metal Relic video challenge! The script is mine, the voice is AI's.
After using the bolt cutters to cut up some duplex nails to use as the tails, I drop them in the vice. These get bent near the mid point and then the very end gets a quick shot of weld to round it off.
Fun Fact: Giraffes have hearts the size of basketballs. They also have elastic blood vessels and one-way valves that allow them to bend over to drink without affecting their brains with their high blood pressure.
I make what people normally call the horns or nubs out of a link. They are actually ossicones which are boney projections of the skull covered with furred skin. Both female and male giraffe have ossicles and the makes use them to turn their heads into a club.
Here is the jig I made to hold the body in place and allow me to connect the legs. It works perfect!
