Unabashed Peter Criss fan here. IMO, he was the coolest looking one in the mid-late '70s. He also had that great singing voice. Never understood the mocking of his cat makeup. For him it was right. To me he's always seemed like the most honest member. I'm sure he was a pain in the ass in some ways, but so were the others in their own ways. Love him.

I love this episode so much. Being a fellow drummer myself. I love Peter's drumming and you are so correct that he does not get the love and respect for this playing. He was so in tune with what was needed for a song as far as beats and grooves and fills. His dynamics are insane also. I think a lot of his lack of respect is the fault of Gene and Paul bad mouthing him all the years after he left. But there is ONLY ONE Peter Criss and ONLY ONE Catman. Also, do you notice that the fills that Peter does in got love for sale are sped of versions of the same opening drum fill he does for Shock Me? Once you hear it, you can't unhear it.

Another great episode as usual, guys! I have to concur with two excellent points made at the beginning: 1.) I'm not against the avatars, but as Peter perfectly pointed out, couldn't they have waited? For me, it did take away from the magic and impact of their last show and was kind of a bummer (If I'm being totally honest); and 2.) It's the end of the road for KISS, why couldn't they take a few seconds to mention every band member who made that journey a reality? LICK IT UP and HEAVEN'S ON FIRE have been staples for years... Everyone who picked up a drumstick or guitar pick more than deserved to be recognized. And I know you guys mentioned possible ideas for future shows... What about re-imagining album covers? DESTROYER, DRESSED TO KILL, LOVE GUN, and ROCK AND ROLL OVER are iconic, but then you have covers like DYNASTY, LICK IT UP, and ASYLUM... How would you guys give them an iconic makeover? (*HOT IN THE SHADE, however, remains as is!).

I love that you're giving love to THE Catman... the only living KISS member I still like. He helped define the great 70's KISS sound. To me, those first 6 KISS albums are as special as VH's first 6 and LZ's first 6. Not necessarily better, but as special.

Awesome episode! Peter was my big influence growing up. I learned the debut album on the drums at 6 years old 45 years ago and he had some cool fills and he was solid in pocket up until Kiss Alive 2. His drumming on Deuce is perfect

Peters so clever w his songwriting always noticed that part in 100k years but that Shock me drum track is completely lit! Was just watching Ace’s guitarist vid last night on Shock me that bend up to the g is killler

It is my honest opinion that ALL of side 4 of Alive II is Peter, even Rocket Ride. Anton himself has said it was not him, that he did not play on any KISS album before Ace's 78 solo. As much growth as we had heard Peter have from album to album and over the major tours (Alive and Alive II) I think it is totally possible for him to pull off anything that is played on side 4. And the sound of the drums (tuning and reverb) have nothing to do with Peter's playing or how he plays. I get tired of people saying "but the drum sound on side 4 doesn't sound like Peter" what does that even mean? I still hear some of Peter's past trademark style in these tracks along with some new tricks. Yes the drum solo at the end of Rocket Ride is something we have never heard from Peter before, but if you listen deeper you hear that he still has that 4 on the floor bass drum going during the drum solo fills and then that fast roll between the snare and toms that is played loose. Yep, it's Peter.
