LOL, so much hate for the ebike in some of the comments??? What about the 99.9% of us who can't go to Whistler or jump on our MX bike? As a dad of 3 kids, wife to keep happy and 2 jobs, ebikes are literally a time machine. 2 hours night ride a couple of times a week is more than I could ride in a whole weekend on a traditional bike. Let's try and be a bit more open minded... however, don't get me started on Surrons riding up the DH trails :(
That’s the best argument I’ve heard so far. That E-bikes allow you to get more laps in set period of time. I just bought my first bike after having to rent for years. It’s a solid full suspension trail bike that I’ll have for the next 5 years or so. This got me thinking of upgrade time and what I’ll go to next. I keep thinking E-bikes will have more downsides, but after this and other reviews I’ve seen/read it appears it does just as well or better than a standard bike. I thought the weight would take from the fun, but even pro’s like Remy seem to have a good time and watching the footage its a proper mountain bike experience. I can see myself being the old man and sticking with no motor power for gravity sports, maybe upgrade to carbon, but E-bikes may be an option. It’s not just that technology allows us to access more power, it’s how we channel it, and even at this stage E-bikes seem to do it well. “Assist” not motor power, with a little extra weight, but weighted down low. It’ll be interesting to see where it goes and hopefully trails won’t be full E-bike, but I suspect cost and who knows even Lithium supply will be limiting factor. Either way it’s a recreational activity for me so I’m going full fun factor. If that’s a new carbon bike that is an upgrade to me then cool. If it’s a new E-bike that are becoming popular and let’s more people enjoy the trails, respectfully, then that’s cool too

An e-bike is an incredible addition to anyone’s quiver! For me it’s my “third” bike, but I ride it just as much as my trail bike. I work a very physical job, and typically only road my bikes on the weekend. Adding an e-bike has got me out for extra evening rides after work, exceeding 1000m vert, and still able to go to work strong the next day. So this means I’ll get two of three times as much riding in during the year…… why people are so down on these tools is beyond me Thanks for the video🤘🏻

I've tried many.. and they are indeed heavy; also felt and react differently on the trail than my usual big bike. As soon as the prices go down, I will own one but, not until they become cheaper than actual motor bikes... because, for the money of a regular bike and an e-bike, I can have a regular bike and a motorcycle.. basically, doing two completely different things instead of two very similar ones.

What an amazing review and the clips were in this video was just amazing also The hills and the amount of laps you can do Saves you a lot of money buying uplift passes but the downside is you have to buy any bike which are very expensive but it’s worth it in the long run
Honest question, no hidden hate (I'm keen on getting an E-bike myself)! When I see these epic trails down the mountains Remy ride I can't really imagine how you get up there in the first place. Is there gravel roads up the mountain you can ride up? Otherwise it seems like hiking and carrying your bike is the only way and then I'm assuming a light weight carbon bike is much preferable instead of a heavy E-bike?
I really love enduro bikes old and new. But if I Had the money I would by an Ebike. The fun part is downhill and if you don't live on bikepark or tow the bike on a trail it's a lot of time and energy wasted going uphill. You should be a Monster to do the same trail or a long day bike with a normal bike. An Ebike is a very good weapon to have fun. 90% of the people only want to have fun and most of them are out of shape. Ebike for most of the people are the best choice. Now I can ride with people on ebikes and I know in normal conditions this Will be impossible. Just Focus on positive things and the good things that this bikes gives to normal and pros. Have fun. Enjoy the ride ✨⭐

Great video and thanks for the run down. Any reason you didn’t go for the reverb axs dropper? It would seem a logical option with all the other asx stuff and one less cable. Also do you use the autoshift and coastshift funciona or do you use full manual gear setup? Thanks again.
I was like the E-bike hater before. Until one day, went to the bike shop bought the accessories and the bike shop boss let me have a chance to test ride the E-bike. The moment when I test ride it,it completely changed my mind. If you change a different view minded of E-bike,it basically a fun bike and definitely help a lot of injured and illness people to find back the fun of the bike. I wa injured my back and dislocated arm before, can't ride my bike aggressive and not so many times anymore.Until I test ride the E-bike, it completely changed my mind. I will say I like both now, the traditional MTB and Ebike definitely are my both favourite now. If I had a chance in the future and enough budget,I will definitely consider E-bike in my wishlist. I definitely like riding both, both have their own riding style and fun! So ride what you like Remy, this is your own choice!(๑و•̀ω•́)و (Sorry for my broken English xd
After putting it off for so long,my moment was afan forest on my normal mtb,at 55 it killed me! My asthma was the key,i eventually bought a decent e bike ( cube stereo) in march, and went back to afan, what a game changer for me,no more leg cramps,no more getting badly out of breath, ive cycled all my life, but health has dictated buying an e bike Iam enjoying my riding again,i have my mojo back, best thing i did,as im riding even more now!
Hi Remy, thanks for your videos - Did I miss the weight of your bike or it is not mentioned in the video ? Thanks in advance, Bonjour du pays des fromages qui puent 😉
Remy ,good point about tapping the brakes I've been doing this for years, my kenevo wants to change up tech climbs ,so tapping the brakes keeps you in the sweet spot😊
Can you talk about pros and cons of coil vs air shocks? Thanks. I looked at this bike but still wary of SRAM/Brose motor reliability (supposedly it's better now but still belt driven I believe). I went Crestline with Bosch race motor (yes I know it's noisier)
I’m kinda weighing up getting an ebike. My dad has one and it’s unreal amounts of fun. I still prefer how a normal bike rides on the decents but I can’t argue with the fact an ebike makes up for its minor flaws on the downs with stupid fun going up. And for me bike parks and uplifts don’t exist locally so it would make sense……..but at 23 I worry I’ll get lazy with it 🤣
Since I have an e-bike, I ride a lot more and sweat more. It's fun and find new trails that a traditional bike wouldn't cover. But, I ride a traditional bike once in a while when I miss it.
Great video.. bike looks killer. Question: what camera and mount are you using for your pov riding videos? looks like a helmet mount looking down? 360 camera or?
I only hate e-bikes when they pass me on climbs. 😅 I rented one in Squamish this past summer. It allowed me to see so much more than I could have on a non- e-bike.
If you want a brutal injury Carry my 2014 glory A couple miles or go street riding on a JB in wind and rain wet leaves on the ground I think having many heart attacks counters Brutal injuries😂😂

What an amazing review and the clips were in this video was just amazing also The hills and the amount of laps you can do Saves you a lot of money buying uplift passes but the downside is you have to buy any bike which are very expensive but it’s worth it in the long run
Glad you like them!
@@remymetailler You’re welcome
Its about time propain brings a good ebike cf version🎉
Awesome looking bike. Great review.
Nice review! I own an Ekano 2 AL and I love it
what about servicing? since it's an on-line brand...
Any Sram retailer would be able to service the motor.
How much does it weigh?
Breaks my heart watching biking riding had my bike stole July this year heart broken but those Propains looks sick 🙌
Sorry to hear that
@@remymetailler Thanks bro appreciate that, had saved for 3years but I love MTBing so imma start saving again 🙌
Hey Remy, I have a video idea for you. Do a which is faster, Propain Ekano 2 vs Spindrift on a downhill trail.
There are up hill trails to pedal on
@@remymetailler thx so much for replying! Those must be a proper workout!!
I bought an ebike last spring and I'm for sure a better rider because of it.
Dear Remy,
Thanks for the great video. I would like to buy one Ekano2CF but your discount code is not worming anymore. Could you provide a new one?
Thank you and best regards
Christian
Great video and thanks for the run down. Any reason you didn’t go for the reverb axs dropper? It would seem a logical option with all the other asx stuff and one less cable. Also do you use the autoshift and coastshift funciona or do you use full manual gear setup?
Thanks again.
i use the One Up dropper. I love it and how I can use it as a 170,160 or 180
See the Kross Moon graphic, almost identical hinge kinematics, and the frame is 6 years old.
So ride what you like Remy, this is your own choice!(๑و•̀ω•́)و
(Sorry for my broken English xd
The problem has always been price. I can afford a 2k full suspension but there's no comparable e-mtb until you pay triple that
Quality video! Well thought out and put together!
He rips and I love all of that terrain he's riding!!!
After putting it off for so long,my moment was afan forest on my normal mtb,at 55 it killed me!
My asthma was the key,i eventually bought a decent e bike ( cube stereo) in march, and went back to afan, what a game changer for me,no more leg cramps,no more getting badly out of breath, ive cycled all my life, but health has dictated buying an e bike
Iam enjoying my riding again,i have my mojo back, best thing i did,as im riding even more now!
Screw the haters! Only post ebike videos now to weed out the idiots. Keep ripping remi!
Right on
When will the new GDH grips be available for us normal Mountainbikers? I‘ve only seen them used by sponsored Ergon riders
Oh I'm not sure
Great Content Remy!!
Great video, loving that Ekano 2 CF. It says that code is expired. Do you have a new one?
Can you talk about pros and cons of coil vs air shocks? Thanks. I looked at this bike but still wary of SRAM/Brose motor reliability (supposedly it's better now but still belt driven I believe). I went Crestline with Bosch race motor (yes I know it's noisier)
I’m kinda weighing up getting an ebike. My dad has one and it’s unreal amounts of fun.
I still prefer how a normal bike rides on the decents but I can’t argue with the fact an ebike makes up for its minor flaws on the downs with stupid fun going up.
And for me bike parks and uplifts don’t exist locally so it would make sense……..but at 23 I worry I’ll get lazy with it 🤣
Hello Remy, can you tell us what riding pants you wear? I’m a shorter rider and it’s difficult to find pants with a shorter inseam. Thank you.
The 7mesh Glidepath
@@remymetailler thank. I will order using your backcountry link. What backpack do you use for riding? Thanks again!
I'm going to design an E-bike park.
Great video. Curious, what stand is that you’re using for the new bike? Looks like it sits under the chainstay?
It is a Topeak stand
Hi Remy! Do you use the same tyre pressures on e-bike and convencional bike?
Thanks!
About 2psi more and on DH casing
Thanks!
Since I have an e-bike, I ride a lot more and sweat more. It's fun and find new trails that a traditional bike wouldn't cover. But, I ride a traditional bike once in a while when I miss it.
Great video Remy.
"Hey, Remy. That's awesome. I just ordered an EKANO 2 CF. I'm curious, why did you choose to use such a long dropper post? 170mm or 180mm?"
Great video.. bike looks killer. Question: what camera and mount are you using for your pov riding videos? looks like a helmet mount looking down? 360 camera or?
Great Bike! Maybe i missed it, but : what size and how much it weighs in that setup ?
Size M, 23kg
Shredding is shredding 🤙
If you were 6'2" would you go L or XL and would you go mullet or full 29? thx Remy!
XL
Remy, what bike stand are you using in the yard ? Thank you
I only hate e-bikes when they pass me on climbs. 😅 I rented one in Squamish this past summer. It allowed me to see so much more than I could have on a non- e-bike.
When I saw the title I was expecting a brutal injury 😂
Hopefully not!
If you want a brutal injury Carry my 2014 glory A couple miles or go street riding on a JB in wind and rain wet leaves on the ground I think having many heart attacks counters Brutal injuries😂😂
Hi Rémy! What is the weight difference between the E-kano and your other bikes in general? Thanks!
E Kano has a motor. It's a Ebike
@@remymetailler Rémy,Je le sais que c'est un EB!!! Je te demandais juste la différence de poids entre le E-Kano et un autre de tes vélos favoris sans moteur!!! Merci 😉
What is the brand of your yellow hoodie?
7mesh Anorak Chilco
It's on my shortlist when the prices come down.
it cant be just me that thinks the bike looks huge for him. Super gld he uploaded tho, I was going crazy when he left
Bikes fits me well. Love the geometrie.
@@remymetailler how much does it weigh?
about 23.5kg@@ZachLifter
Hey Remy you ever ride hardtails?
Keep Going, nice to see EMTBs shredding 🤪👍
You didn’t mention what rear shock you had…?
DVO Jade X 500 lbs spring
I like the human powered purely mechanic thing on bicycles. Ebiking is more close to moto and has not the vibe of connecting to nature for me. Even if i think emtbs are a lot of fun ,it makes me sad that so many good bikers advertise them so much. For me mtbing is about fun and adrenaline but also being alone in the nature with no need for a engine. But its my feeling and i know you guys feel different. I realy did like your content as a mountainbiker and i have learned a lot from your Videos!!! (I will never come even close in my lifetime) I wish you a good time in the ebike segment!!!!
Don't worry I'll be posting a lot of regular bike content. This channel is for all kind of bikes!
Thanks for your answer and i am stoked to hear that you will still be riding traditional bikes
Well done Remy!
I got an ebike 2 years ago and its way better to ride than a regular bike for all day rides! I can do multiple loops and triple the milage i can normally do. I love mine! And this fall i crashed my DH bike at trestle and broke my collarbone 4 ribs and tore a hole in my lung and collapsed it! I was off the bike all of october. This month ive got back on and im still getting my lungs back! The ebike has got me back out on the trail allowing me to do what i love
Outch, heal up.
It's not that more mileage are more fun, I think. Not more of everything is better!
Will it be available in a frame only purchase option? 🍻🍻
I think so
E-bikes are amazing! They truly are the future of mountain biking opening up whole new worlds to explore ❤
Are you getting one? I'm in NC
Which weakness of ya riding do ya mean @ 7:58 :D there is none!
I hope that one day they will be more affordable though. I want one xD
That’s now . I got one for 3k off
When are they coming to Australia? 🙈
Hey Remy, do you know if the jade x shock also fits into the ekano 2 AL version?
Yes it should
