Once again Remy proves why he’s the gentleman mtber, stopping for the injured rider at the beginning shows the true spirit of mountain biking. I love these vids and learn something every time I watch them.
Been passed by a whole group of people before while I was gasping winded and nauseous from a crash. Couldn't even say anything and they just rode past. Couldn't believe it 😬
Hey Remy! Love your videos, can you make a video on how to transfer weight on the bike, corners, jumps, whips, stoppies, manuals, and overall bike control like being light on your feet so you can move the bike around? If so, I'd love to see it! Keep up the great work bro, you're inspiring many people!
When I say making yourself light, I mean unloading your weight of the bike (almost slowly jumping but while keeping the bike on the ground). And when I say making yourself heavy I mean compressing the suspensions and applying all your weight on the bike on a centered manner.
Hey, this might seem obvious but I think these weight transfers are better learned with practice. It's almost like cornering, watching 50 videos isn't gonna get you far, but trying to corner changing your technique each time will eventually get you going fast out of a corner. It's the kind of thing you gotta go by feel imo.
@@ZhengZL69 Exactly. I watched so many videos, it didn't do anything for me until I had a full season of riding hard trails, riding them repeatedly and compressing harder or unweighting more. It's safe when done incrementally, just push yourself barely past your comfort zone every time you ride
Thank you for the in depth walk through. I've never really taken the time to make a session out of a obstacle. It really helps to see you do the run up first to make sure you have the line and the speed correct.
I love this video because it highlights the importance of walking the sections and analyzing the correct line to take. Also, that getting older does not mean you have to progress less. Thank you, Remy!
"you dont see so well in the dark". Welcome to the club. as i age (54 now) it really sucks going in and out of trees... light / dark. tough to adjust. Great Vid.
I love everything aboout this. I know you probably have an amazing bike pump but honestly one of the best purchases I've made lately was the Milwalkee M12 Compact inflator. You press 2 buttons and it pumps whatever you want exactly to the right PSI.
Me and my friends watch your videos all the time. we are too old to ride anymore and it is so much appreciated that you do these rides. It's almost like being there ourselves thank you so much for your videos we share them with our friends please keep making more and thank you again
I really like your videos, they are so much fun to watch. And I like the very analytic way you deal with new features or drops. This helps really very much to get confident. Although I am 49 years old, I was able to clear several big drops with this type of riding style! So thank you very much for your fantastic videos, they are an inspiration and a good guide for me to improve my riding.
The last feature is ridiculously gnarly!! I just recently bought a mountain bike and it's been so much fun ripping around the trails, building my confidence and skill, and taking myself out of my comfort zone. Very happy to have found your channel, love the content!!
I love watching your analysis of features. I like to be similar (much smaller features mind you!) so it really reassures me that the pro's go though the same process. I find it hard when you're with others to do that process as I feel like I'm holding my friends back whilst they wait which is why I do much alone - much to your point in between 2 baguettes!
I am always amazed of your skills, specially when I watch really talented riders do a feature and then you just do the same at 3 times the speed or even faster ...!!
"I'm definitely not jumping this bridge" almost spat out my coffee laughing Remy! 😂 Great video to watch as I'm building up my first big squish bike in a long time this season, and confidence building is going to be very important. I'll be thinking of this video (in 2 months once all the snow melts!), thanks!
Super sick, Remy! Stoked to see you back :) FYI you'll know you're getting old when you start slowing down because you have to, not cause you want to. At your speed I figure you got about another thousand years or so before you gotta ride like a normal person. Stay fresh mon frère!
Love your content Remy!! Never once thought your thumbnails were boring, guess it never mattered cause your content is 🔥, but you nailed it with this one. 🤘🏼
Hi Rémi. Glad to see you back on the trails and those features. Thanks for the explanations you give before hitting those jumps, rocks, etc... I think it's important, mainly for kids, to understand there's a lot of preparation (fitness), and thinking before jumping over those rocks.
Thanks for the amazing videos and even bigger thanks for nudging me towards Propain. My Tyee AL 29 frameset with the Formula MOD coil finally arrived last week and it’s now built up. Such an epic epic bike; not only does it handle bigger stuff (my standards not yours 🤣) but it’s also incredibly agile and playful whilst doing it, to an extent I didn’t think was possible for a longer travel bike. Who knew?!? 😁 Keep up the awesome work, the honesty and explanations you give really help us when we are trying to attempt new features!
Not bad, "old man"🤭. If that is like getting old I'm all for it😁. Your analytical style of approaching features is what captivated me and made me subscribe and continue watching your videos. Thank you for sharing with us.
always saying to myself - you aren't old! when I need to do some scary stuff and I hope this is the right way to safe or get more confidence! Thank you, Remy! I hope one day I'll come in Canada, took my camera and we can take some awesome shots if it possible! Thank you for videos and motivation! better to be an old skilled guy than young lazy one xD
I’m 48 and I went to Squamish last summer. I rode a lot of things I didn’t think I would be riding but Remy’s lines we’re just a whole different level. You have to see it in person to realize how gnarly it is…
19:18 nevermind the steez factor, you’re clearly dripping with it. But, the way you enter into this transition is absolutely surgical! Not even a hint of tire slip, perfect braking control. Repeat, repeat, repeat!
Realizing I have some similarities in the way of thinking as you gives me confidence. Thank you Remy, the precision is amazing and inspiring to say the least. Excited for what I can do with some Remy brain now in mine 🤓😎
Great instructional video and great riding! BTW, somewhere I have a killer picture of you doing an improvised gap at the bottom of WBP slope style course in front of the GLC. It’s probably from before 2010. Was wondering if you’ve ever gapped anything bigger? It was by far the biggest I’ve seen !
Tu pourra faire une vidéo sur le steez parce que t'as tellement de flow sur les jump, avec les genre de scrub etc ? Ce serait cool ! Sinon les vidéos mental comme ça c'est super
Hey Remy, thanks for another great video! I gotta know, who makes the hoodie? I got to get my hands on one of those, looks great for cold, damp riding!
Good question. With the enduro bikes being that good now, DH bike is only necessary for me when riding a tone of laps in Bike Park where I need more reliability and something more stable. Adding travel comes handy when it's really rough and fast too. And of course for racing a proper DH track.
@@remymetailler thanks for responding! I’m very new to MTB and last season was my first season (but I’ve been watching you and many other riders for a couple of years) and I’ve been lucky to find a great bike, it’s a 2021 stump jumper trail bike with 140mm of travel. I come from a skateboarding background and have ridden a BMX bike before so I feel really comfortable on the MTB and I use my bike at my local bike parks, I’ve tuned it for my weight and riding style but I wonder if I could benefit with a longer travel more stout bike. I have been able to ride blacks and the blue jump lines (few crashes here and there but it’s a lot of fun) keep up the hard work and thank you for sharing all this with us!
Great video as always. You have brought up core strength several times. It's become super apparent as I've gotten older how important that is and how I've neglected it. What sort of exercises are you doing for core strengthening and what do you recommend for someone looking to build core strength?
