  • This is an extract from my 2 hour Ceramic School Workshop. In the Ceramic School Workshop I demonstrate many of the techniques that I use and talk about the materials and tools that I use. I also explain how I develop ideas and where my inspiration comes from.
This is what people have said about my workshop-
“Thank you Craig for turning on the lightbulbs. Your course was a masterclass and packed with information and inspiration” Anne Sauer
“Your session in the Congress was so inspiring and opened parts of my brain I did know were there.”
    Linda Penrose
“I was one of the lucky individuals who took your workshop during the Ceramics Congress this year and I’m writing to say thank you. There’s really no way to explain how much I got out of your generous teaching and philosophy about your work.” Sandy Rousseau

I build up layers of engobe and slip on my ceramic pots, this helps to add a depth and richness to the surface. In this video I show how I apply these layers and explain what I’m attempting to achieve.

Love your work. It inspires me to follow my inner voice. I’d like to hear u talk about finding one’s voice or style and staying true to it.

I’m loving your videos. So creative and fun! I’ve never heard of engobe. What is the different between engobe and slip? How do you make engobe? And the thing you called “pastels that you made” that look like chalk writing on a black board? I love your pieces and hope you offer classes :)

Thanks for the feedback. I’m thinking of doing a video to explain what I mean by engobe and slip. I’ll get round to it soon.
