Always take measurements from the original and measure to size before tack welding the end onto the barrel. Yeah we rarely show the measuring stuff because it's pretty boring 🤣
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering this was kind of my question as well. Because you're removing material and creating a beveled edge and then a counter beveled edge are you not losing a few cm/inches in the process? Heck even using the grinder you lost about 1/4-1/2 inch if material.

Hey don't forget to stay warm. There is a village in Siberia that gets down to something like MINUS 45 deg Celsius in the depths of winter. Kurtis, the next stinking hot work day send this guy a shout out and explain to the viewers the temperature and geographic locations just for fun.
Getting my hydraulic cylinders for my tow truck repaired and these people are taking a "Lifetime" I honestly believe sending both of these cylinders to Australia having you repair them and send them back would have been less time consuming. They are very slow over here in Utah
I have been a master tech, welder and fabricator for over 40 years. This is a class 1 repair. Done the correct way. If someone has a problem with this repair, well then you must have a degree in rocket science and you'll be happy to tell me how it should have been done. I won't hold my breath because this is how it is done. Go ahead and hang it out there and school is all. I mean hell, most young people nowadays can't start a lawnmower so go ahead I'm waiting.

Agreed. I saw the video and thought, “Oh, it’s Friday!” (Teaching virtually really messes with your mental calendar.)
Never seen someone change out a chuck so quickly lol, loving the vids Curtis. Keep em coming
Thanks for watching mate glad you're enjoying them! 😎👍
You know you're in Australia when even the dogs are wearing high vis.
That’s cos a lot of the animals want to kill you, you have to make the good ones noticeable
@@sarahhardy8649 I knew there was a very logical reason for that vest, thank you for saying this.
You do some of the 'cleanest' work -- a pleasure to watch and learn
Live the class of the videographer and the Professional repairs done and especially love the Bloopers !
Holy shit I found my new favorite UA-cam content
Will it matter that the length was reduced by a few centimeters when truing up both ends?
typically not, the rod end on the shaft should have some adjustment if it needs it.
I had the same thoughts and what's with the interior?
Hey mate I can see why you'd think that. The barrel length didn't change, it was the previous weld I was machining off and the original spigot was long enough we kept at correct length and filled with weld 😎👍
Love it, great job. As always thank you for sharing. Looking like he's enjoying his new uniform
Thanks for watching mate yeah he likes to stand out and get attention 🤣
Here we go another awesome repair done. Thanks for showing your expert workmanship
This was very relaxing/enjoyable to watch - and I'm studying medicine. So unrelatable - relatable it was.
I see the shop steward keeping his eyes on you guys once more, and setting the OHAS standards as well/
He's always watching and really happy to stand out in his high vis haha 🐕👍
He's just making sure pop stays safe. Doesn't want to worry about his next meal.
Parabéns 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🇧🇷
É um trabalho de primeira linha.
Muito bom 👍
Как всегда отличная работа, друг! Привет из Сибири! Собаке тоже привет! Great job as always, friend! Hello from Siberia! Hello dog
Wow long way away thanks for watching mate! Вау, очень далеко, спасибо за просмотр, приятель! 😎👍
Приятно видеть русских зрителей!
@@pridonki на классную работу приятно смотреть... Даже не зная языка...

The new safety jacket is great! Really good honest "outtakes!" Did you drive the part to the customer when it got done?
Hey mate thanks for watching. Not sure if you noticed but that was actually the part from last weeks video 🤣 This one the customer collected from our workshop but my misses wanted to add in that little ending with safety officer shop dog haha 😎👍

Тысяча ЛАЙКОВ, привет от коллеги из России.
Привет, дружище, спасибо за просмотр и лайк в России!
I feel great satisfaction in seeing works in metallurgy like the one you did, congratulations on your dedication.
Thumbs up to Karen for some good camera work !
Great team work with an awesome safety inspector !
Greetings from USA...
Homie is cool. I have learned from watching you. Also enjoy the slow motion clips during cuts and the explanation of each insert.
Great repair, next time you see it the eye will buggerd ,
Cheer mate thanks for watching 😎👍
i really like your work. just a question. when you face off the end of the barrel the stroke of the cylinder gets slightly shorter. isnt that an issue?
Hey mate thanks for watching, I can see why you'd think that. The barrel length didn't change, it was the previous weld I was machining off and the original spigot was long enough we kept at correct length and filled with weld 😎👍
That’s a good point, Wilmar. I thought about that also... I reckoned there had to be some means to ensure it was the correct stroke length.
Ok
The dog heard the welder and was like
"Is someone cooking bacon?"
lol
Then he smelt the welding fumes and said Damn no bacon this time. :-(
I bet that dog knows what welder, type of gas, and amps are going in just by the sound of it by now :D
@@alexandersotirov7607 LOL he comes out and barks the amount of wire feed speed needed
Well, when a spark jumps into the welding gloves, it also begins to smell like a bacon.
Excellent repair, i love the bloopers at the end of every one of these that I watch and the antics of action dog.
I love your dog. The perfect breed, just the right size. Big enough to run somebody off, and doesn't take up too much room in the truck. Staffordshire Terrier, or just plain old Pit. A friend to the furry end. Best dog I ever had.
All you add is love..
Can you show us the overhead crane sometime? I’m assuming you made it
Hey mate will do in an upcoming workshop video, it's actually being replaced with a 16M wide gantry crane soon 😎👍
Just subscribed, great content and nice repair.. I like the PPE on your pup, all he needs is a hard hat, but I don’t know if they make one big enough to fit on that head!
Hey mate welcome to the channel and thanks for subbing! haha yeah no chance there's a hard hat for his big head 🤣 Cheers, Kurtis 😎👍
1st time watching this channel. The outtakes had me pissing myself laughing, subscribed instantly! 🤣🤣🤣
ABOM lite
As a truly English metal head... who has worked in NZ and Australia I can safely say, the outtakes are the best bit, they crack me the f**k up everytime
Credit where its due being a welder i have to say that your work is up there with the best welding I've done and seen.
The outtakes prove that welding is easier than producing a video.
Nice job 👍
Thanks mate! Appreciate you watching it straight up 😎👊💥
Safety first for mans best friend wearing his vest. Lol
I can't imagine the time and effort that goes into such high quality videos - I really well done!!
Simply amazing. I have been told that I am a master craftsman. You make me look like a rank amateur.
