you clearly read all the comments on your UA-cam channel, Idk how long you can keep that up with your current view rate, fun seeing the machining and hard work that goes in to fixing even a single piece of the behemoth machinery that comes in to your shop. I would love to work in a shop like this or out welding on an oil platform, I try to balance money hungry bastard with being a good person, clearly, machining is a good place to do both, as the costs are not cheap, and repairs are defiantly the spot to be when manufacturing is mostly done over seas, or more close to home when lobbing huge pieces of steel around.
I'm willing to bet that you were happy to have that job out of your shop. I wonder how many shops saw the condition of the thing and said NOPE before you took it on. Cheers from the USA, thanks for uploading vids of your work

@@pgids5886 Years ago, I used a regular sandblaster. Dusty, sweaty work and if there was any grease, the sand just stuck to it. Then I bought a wet blasting nozzle for my pressure washer. Changed everything. Just remember to put on a regular nozzle when you're done and wash everything down. Otherwise there will be grit left on the work that will rust. Once it's washed down, there will be very little rust. Good luck.

They would still send it, it's a maintenance write off and they may not have the time equipment or manpower to clean it. In manufacturing, you must keep focused on keeping the equipment running or you may have 50 or more people getting paid to sweep the floor at a loss, not to mention, getting behind delivery schedules and raw materials backing up causing bottlenecks in production. Shipping issues, you may have 5 trucks a day contracted to ship your goods and if you cancel them due to being down, you may have to pay for them anyway. So if Kurtis charged for cleaning they would probably pay it.

Like the set-up with the parting tool onto the shop made bar very practical be safe God bless you all @20:30 I saw that
The scale of your projects makes even the most mundane operations fascinating. Cheers.
That boring bar was a great idea!👍👍👍👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cheers mate!
Great video mate, your missus does a great job on the cam, she's a hard worka too:)
And once again, what appears at first glance to be an easy job, turns into something much more difficult. Been there, done that. Well done!
Customer drops off piece of crap.
Instructions " little off the top "
Kurtis you left with putting a shine on crap.
You got some good quality inserts to hold up that interrupting cuts.
Australia engineering at its finest Mate.🦘🇭🇲💯👍
Cheers mate! Was happy with how it turned out in the end. Was using Palbit inserts they go well considering the price 😎👊💥
It might look crap to outsiders but I’m sure the owner did not consider it so.
you clearly read all the comments on your UA-cam channel, Idk how long you can keep that up with your current view rate, fun seeing the machining and hard work that goes in to fixing even a single piece of the behemoth machinery that comes in to your shop.
Customer: what's this extra charge?
Kurtis: don't bring dirty shit aka the dirty shit charge
😂😂
This reminds me of my first job as an Apprentice Engineer. Right down to the " Industrial" language. You have a new subscriber.
Awesome. Making my Fridays.
😎👊💥 awesome
I'm willing to bet that you were happy to have that job out of your shop. I wonder how many shops saw the condition of the thing and said NOPE before you took it on.
Cheers from the USA, thanks for uploading vids of your work
My internet is really bad and limited and slow. These videos are some of the only ones I will let youtube load and wait for at 1080p. Thanks!
Thank you for that support glad you can enjoy them in good quality viewing 😎👍👍👍
Your attention to details and level of knowledge is exceptional.
Not a machinist, but can appreciate your the work you do.
Pleasure to see a pro work. And tackle extream issues, resolve them.
Great work mate and great videos. I'm no machinist but I'm learning a lot from your channel. Keep it up!
Hey mate thanks for watching!
Slo-mo's and outtakes were excellent! Great video. Thanks.
Sand Blaster looks like its on the cards for " tools I need Darling " :)
Just as long as you have a super sized air compressor and air drier.
@@markfryer9880 Please don't scare the bride ! That comes later :)
A wet blaster for use with a pressure washer does wonders on things like this.
@@davidsellars4327 tell me more, sounds like something I could use in the driveway on my truck frame and not piss the neighbors off too bad😂
Good luck.
The slow motion shots are great to fully appreciate the impact of the metal cutting!👍🏻
nice job and the video(editing) is, as always, amazing.
Thank you!
Well that was a great example of something warped - the amount of runout was crazy! Nice job of bringing something back to serviceable again. Cheers mate.
"Don't bring dirty shit to me"
Mate,
Ya gotta buy the Giggler a pressure washer....🤣
She doesn't agree with this comment 😂
@@CuttingEdgeEngineering Get a pink one... " for your birthday "
@@ChrisR2517 for "her" birthday.

I meant He is saying "it's for your Birthday"
@@ChrisR2517 my mistake. sorry
Thanks for the video. It helps me stay in touch with the real world since retirement. Keep a good thought.
That's one of those where when they come to get it. They pay for it. You really have no idea if it will work. You did what they asked. Good job.
Love your work, and your show, and your life. You are a lucky man.
Great to see that big lathe of your up and running. It’s an absolute monster compared to my Colchester mate. Good job on the repair work. Cheers 🍻. Aaron
Hey Aaron! This isn't the big lathe that we videod unloading this is the smaller one of that 😂 we going to sell it if you interested? 🤣
I like your dog! I can tell he's looked after by good people. He's a good dog.
It doesn't look like a precision bit of kit with angle iron welded to it. PS nice use of the parting blade.
The way you perform your work dude, you must be fighting customers off with a big stick. Great to see a young bloke with these skills...
Customer: just take 2.5mm off the outer diameter
Kurtis a few moments later: its not even funny anymore
that means 1.25mm off the radius, right?
@@interesting7906 yup, 2.5 off the diameter means 1.25 off the radius.
Alot of people(non-machinist) don't understand what it takes to just take off 2.5mm, I do durability testing for one of the big three here in the states which requires machining, fixture buillding.....we have engineers that don't understand why things take time.
.GOD BLESS!!
@@michaelguinn5736 same goes for alot of trades. For instance I'm a welder, any idea how many times I've heard "just need it welded"🤦♂️
@@interesting7906 your damn radius thing is as hard to understand as the imperial system
Hi, Curtis. Well, that is about as close as I've seen to making a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Miracles happen every day! Pay attention! Happy New Year! Thanks for sharing! Stay healthy!
Nice work. That tool was scary close to the face plate towards the end. Can't believe how quick your vids go. Half hour vid seemed like 10 mins
The face plate was cool. Talking about getting the job done right. Very nice job 👍👍👍
Let's just say this, Engineering rate $250.00ph Cleaning rate $900.00ph see how quick they clean their shit.
Exactly....i gotta clean it?...your gonna pay for it!!! No exceptions!!!
@@be007 true...very true...but anyone who uses a tool like this...knows it needs to be at least half ass cleaned...its common courtesy...in this type of trade
Probably Bogans
They would still send it, it's a maintenance write off and they may not have the time equipment or manpower to clean it. In manufacturing, you must keep focused on keeping the equipment running or you may have 50 or more people getting paid to sweep the floor at a loss, not to mention, getting behind delivery schedules and raw materials backing up causing bottlenecks in production. Shipping issues, you may have 5 trucks a day contracted to ship your goods and if you cancel them due to being down, you may have to pay for them anyway. So if Kurtis charged for cleaning they would probably pay it.

@Foster Lewis Keith Fenner's sign in his shop: SHOP LABOR RATE - iT'S NOT THE COST OF REPAIR. IT'S THE COST OF THE DAMAGE YOU CAUSED.
