  • Kartoffel is a wild betta species called Mahachai betta. The lettuce started out strong, then ended up withering away. I can only guess that it’s probably b/c of from lack of nutrients. I added regular duckweed, and it also would not grow. I think adding the pearl grass made other plants not grow very well. It probably sucks up too much nutrients from the tank.
    The bumblebee nerite didn’t make it through the cyano phase of this tank. It wasn’t the slime stain remover’s fault. I was going to add another nerite, but I didn’t want it to get harassed by Kartoffel either. The bumblebee rarely came out because of Kartoffel the entire time.
    A snail egg must have been in one of the duckweed that I added from Dante’s tank. That same type of snail has spread like wildfire in there. Interestingly, Kartoffel never messes with it.
    Peppermint is doing great for now. Only time will tell if they’ll end up like the lettuce.

      Common causes are low flow/circulation, build up of organic waste and in planted tanks low (yes I said low) nitrates. A combination of manual removal, water changes, a 3 day back-out and the above should see it gone. Good luck.

    I recently took two cuttings off a mint plant, placed the bottom of the stems in the water and about two months later they’ve grown long roots (attached themselves onto the bogwood) and there’s now five stems that are over double the height they used to be! This is going to be my new way of growing mint as it grows so much faster than in a pot.. I guess it also helps with nitrates

    • @shoshiscaping
      @shoshiscaping 4 роки тому +5

      it’s also worth noting that the mint flopped over and seemed to wilt for the first couple of days then suddenly sprung back up again, but strange but it grew in the end!

    RIP nerite T.T I have the feeling Kartoffel hired a hitman on it and is the culprit behind the cyanobacteria so that he wouldn't be around when the hitman strikes, so nobody would accuse him.
