I am getting sick of those concerns about pedestrians or cyclists. I see every day how cyclists drive on crossing 30 km/h (or about 20 mph) without even looking if car is coming or if car has enough time to stop. Same is with hoverboards and one wheels and other stuff. They constantly drive at max speed without ever looking for cars and now we have to worry about them. How about first reminding them a law that says they must not enter the crossing faster than walking speed and that must check first if car has noticed them? Did you essentially say that if only people respected the rules on the road no accident would ever happen? Either that or you seem to think that anytime a pedestrian or cyclist is involved in an accident it's never the car/drivers fault? I think you need to look up the definition of "accident". And it's really a disgusting look to show how self centered you are that because you seem to have unchecked anger towards cyclists you suddenly don't care if auto manufacturers have to design their cars with pedestrian safety in mind. Go see a therapist for that road rage before you're the next idiot that rams into a cyclist because 'you had the right of way'.
Haters are so desperate to discredit Telsa vehicles, that they've stooped to calling everything that makes them superior, safety hazards. lol Jealousy makes you ugly, and drops one's IQ by several points.
There are those that plain "hate" Teslas, then there are the folks that actually reason about things. And if a Tesla fanboy actually reasons successfully, they would find Teslas and all of Elons other endeavours fatally flawed on multiple levels. This "excuse" for a pickup truck is flawed on so many levels, I can't count that high.
@@AndieBlack13 Haters are so funny. I admire your ability to ignore reality so hard. I'll take a dependable Tesla truck of any kind over the ship GM and Ford are pumping out, I have had 1 of each since 2018 and both were such junk I have to drive a 3/4 ton diesel I barely need for better dependability. Cybertruck on order.
In many ways these are much safer than this design. They also require special licences, have more rules, lower speeds, ect ect. They are also proffesional vehicles that are essential to life. The cybertruck is mostly build to carry 1 person from A to B in or around a city. In basically the most unsafe and inefficent way possible. No one is driving a dumptruck 140kph on the highway to work in 5 days a week, or parking an 18 wheeler in the city to get a coffee. Which is what the cybertruck will be doing for about 98% of the time.
This hit piece is full of FUD. Just plain lies. Customers complaining about fit and finish, zero only a few customers and all reports are that it is excellent. Lack of tortional rigidity, far more rigid than ALL other trucks.
All stupid questions, zero answers. Waste of time. Like you say it's heavy? No shit, Sherlock. It's a f*cking truck, weighs the same as an F-150 Raptor. And far less then a Hummer EV, and I think even the Rivian is heavier. Also, news flash: "getting hit by a truck" is an expression for a reason. At least Tesla has the best active safety systems in the world, so it's far less likely to hit you than a gas guzzler truck. Also, there are crash test videos, you know, the crumple zones work as intended.
I'm anxious to hear about fender benders. If it's an exoskeleton, that means the 'frame' gets wadded-up first and it sounds like repairing this new stainless will be problematic. So just like Tesla batteries (a small amount of damage to a battery and you're out $25-50K), if you have a fender bender in one of these, I predict they'll be written-off vastly more often than normal (repairable) vehicles. I don't get the hype... besides, it's just plain fugly. My opinion only, of course.
Considering you can't repair stainless a door ding could potentially total the vehicle much less a fender bender. The thing overall is a rolling lawsuit.

Considering how labor to blend paint is one of the greatest expenses in a body shop today we might likely find the plain and simple to produce Martinized Stainless Steel panels without a lot of compound curves might be cheaper to replace than the paint cost alone on more conventional vehicles. Tesla engineers also explained to Sandy Monro, when they showed him the manufacturing process, how different thickness stainless steel was used in various parts of the vehicle to allow for pedestrian zones with the less rigid material on those impact zones and to also better define how to more accurately control crumple while maintaining a safer cabin space for the occupants. Minor damage that results in an expensive trip to a body shop will most often will only need some polishing perhaps at times with a Scotch Bright pad. When I asked the locals the answer was consistent, everything would be stolen from the back anytime the truck stopped for anything. @@TheEdmaster87 That's a baseless assumption. In it's current form it won't be legal, but not for safety issues. It's like the color of the turn signal, and other minor issues. Different charging standard too. Tesla is working on an European version, but it's not a priority as they have a multi-year backlog from just US orders.
They were saying crumple zones, braking and suspension issues especially in winter. Plus the sharp edges and break neck acceleration make it a death chopper to pedestrians. It slices and dices.
What absolutely 100% of commentators are missing is the software. Cybertruck, like all other Tesla vehicle has "Autopilot" as a standard feature. That software has automatic crash avoidance - and it works. So rather than building some kind of a vehicle with the ability to survive collisions - how about building one that doesn't collide in the first place? Isn't that MUCH better? Tesla's fatal crash rate per billion miles driven is more than 12 times better than the US average. Why isn't THAT figuring into any of your commentary? I've experienced that feature first hand - when a large aluminum ladder fell off of a truck in front of us at highway speeds. My Tesla had already figured out a way to avoid hitting it - while not hitting another vehicle in the lane next to us - so it changed lanes amazingly quickly - and accelerated to give the vehicle behind us in the new lane sufficient stopping distance. We had already passed the ladder by the time my slow-old biological brain had even fully registered it's existence. I don't know what happens when a car hits a ladder at 75mph - but I'm guessing it's not good. My point being - that I'd MUCH prefer to own a car that doesn't hit some other vehicle than one that crumples elegantly to lessen the damage. Of course it SHOULD do both - but completely ignoring the "NOT HAVING A CRASH IN THE FIRST PLACE" thing makes for a pretty bad summary of what's going on here.
Is there not a 2 million car recall currently in place for tesla cars because the auto pilot does not work.... I don't think we should be letting the machines take over just yet.
The only reason that ADAC (Avoidance Detection and Collision) works better in the USA is because you guys are dumb, don't have proper driving lessons, and go about texting or using your phones while driving, instead of actually driving the car and pay attention to the road.
Wenn Sie gedanklich nicht ihrem Auto folgen können, sollten Sie gar kein Auto als Fahrer benutzen dürfen If you can't mentally follow your car, you shouldn't be allowed to use a car as a driver at all
I feel less threatened by a "Frunk" where on most trucks a massive gas powered engine block sits. Electric motors sit lower, and are safer on impact. Less body roll too! Tesla is just a baby of a company still, and has to get its technology to their public test market for them to decide what can be improved. It's a great concept and is the fastest way to advance new ideas. Sacrifice must be made by someone to revolutionize the auto industry and make car manufacturing more efficient and responsible. Art and design is a big part of Elon's thinking, which makes life far more interesting, but more challenging in the process. Otherwise Tesla would be selling only bubble shaped cars AI mathematically generated for us. "Why is everyone making gas powered and hybrid cars look more like Tesla's all electric cars?" Cybertruick broke free from the mold as a gift of functional art and it should be celebrated, even if it's not one's preferred aesthetic. Not all art has to be understood to be appreciated. The Cybertruck will spark bold and creative designs from other car manufacturers, and safety will improve with public criticisms. "Form ever follows function." Louis Sullivan "Go Tesla!"
Ideally a person would slide right up the smooth hood and glass and probably end up laying on the tonneau cover when the truck quickly stopped. The smoothness means less rough uneven spots to beat up your body. Imagine a motorcyclist falling and sliding on a smooth road without hitting anything else, versus sliding over reflectors and road bumps (all the bumpy parts on a regular pickup truck) that would cause significant impact injuries.
The one thing Elon did a really good job at. Is create an army of sycophants who believe every thing he says, and have the most optimistic view on how things will pan out. Meanwhile, back in reality. The hyperloop was a total failure. We were supposed to have people on Mars already (and yet starship can't even achieve orbit). Actual "FSD" in current Tesla vehicles will NEVER happen. And just to make sure he runs out of money before he can achieve any of these things. He casually sacrificed 44B of his wealth so he could feel like some kind of meme lord. But yes, thank god for true visionaries like Elon.
@@OneRedKraken Hater's cope. 1. Meanwhile back in reality Elon never got around doing Hyperloop, too busy with half dozen other businesses. FYI Hyperloop's little brother, Loop, is very successful in Las Vegas. 2. Also Tesla worth more then the rest of the industry combined, the Model Y is currently the best selling car in the world, SpaceX launches 80% of all mass to orbit, and owns half of all active satellites. 3. No the original target date was 2024 for human Mars landing. And delays in the space industry are normal. Do you have any idea how many years SLS was delayed by? Also most of the Starship delays were regulatory roadblocks. Potentially politically motivated, since Elon is being attacked by the Biden administration in every possible way. 4. The second Starship test went way better than the first, and was inches away of reaching orbit. At this rate the next flight will be perfect. 5. FSD is already working wonderfully. Not reliable enough to drive unsupervised, but getting very close, and the next major update is already being tested by employees. That one has a very good chance to be the One. 6. You know, being able to waste $44B is the sign of extreme success. Do you know how few can just shrug it off? 7. Also X(Twitter) is very successful already, and would easily be profitable without the constant political attacks. FYI, according to recent stats, they get more organic traffic than Instagram. 8. Elon has been the Meme Lord for many years, he didn't need to buy Twitter for that. He did it to protect free speech, which is increasingly suppressed everywhere else. You realize that there's no democracy without free speech, right?
@andrasbiro3007 On every single one of those points. You either embelished things or flat out lying (perhaps out of ignorance) Starship being inches from orbit? Dude top altitude was 40km at last flight. Space starts at the Karman line around 100km. Also you said "orbit". But if something reaches an apogee of 100km that's not achieving orbit that's just a sub orbital flight. Your perigee needs to be above the Karman line to be considered an orbit. And calling FSD working wonderfully is just also another nice cope. Tesla just got a recall on amost all ofl its vehicle for concerns about FSD. But thats just a sign of things working wonderfully right? Can you remind me of when we are going to be able to use the robotaxi feature again? And if you think Elon bought Twitter to save free speech. Look at what he did to the platform. Engagement is worth nothing if you can't monetize that. And Elon is so deeply intelligent he in the same interview/panel told advertisers to go fuck themselves but that he also needs them if the site will survive. He legit bit the hand that was feeding twitter. And now hes pretending as if killing the site is some act that will have an impact of free speech. With Brembo's and regen braking, I doubt braking will be much of a problem. UncleSam is forcing the OEMs into EVs. None of them are doing better than Tesla at the moment. As for the current state of the truck world, most trucks are already bought by non-truck people. Few trucks on the road are hauling, or towing. This thing is competing with half ton trucks that are barely up for the task anyway, especially when it comes to braking. It will certainly have its problems as a new vehicle but compared to what the others are producing I suspect the only thing to keep it from being a market leader (Full size EV truck) will be the styling.
Tesla is making these highly paid "experts" less required as time goes by. The truck is a ground up design. It will get modified for the European market. If it's ....overall......injury rate proves to be better than comparable trucks then isn't that a win? This seems to be a bit of a hatchet job.

Yeah - the harm that Tesla are doing to the German car makers (in particular) is a source of serious concern to Germany. Germans are inordinately proud of their cars - and to see an upstart from America take them down is very painful to National pride. Of course that's the fault of their slow-moving car industry - not the fault of Tesla. The bias that creeps into their government processes is palpable. For example - Mercedes have the world's first "Level 3 Autonomy Car" - according to German government regulators. Tesla are "Level 2 Autonomy" according to the same standards. Wow! So what can the Mercedes do? Well, it can stay in lane and modify speed - but only on carefully mapped autobahns - and only at speeds under 40mph - and only if there's no roadworks - and only if the weather is OK...er...excuse me? UNDER 40mph - and ONLY on Autobahns? Well - *that's* useful. My FSD Tesla can drive on unmapped dirt roads, on ANY freeway, in busy downtown streets with pedestrians an parked cars, it handles roadworks - pretty much everything...and it can do it at speeds up to 85mph...and has automatic crash avoidance. So what the hell are the regulators saying? The Mercedes system is somehow much superior to Tesla's? **NO** It's straight up protectionism. Germany is seeing it's badge of honor - producing the best cars in the world - being eaten by Tesla. VW is in trouble, BMW are in trouble - they're all seeing their sales fall while Tesla makes the fastest production car in the world (for under $90k) - and the most popular car in the world. This hits German pride - and if they can use safety regulations to keep Tesla at bay - that's what they'll do.

Like those guys completely ignore the law and now we car owners can't buy Cybertruck because of safety concerns. Safety of those who themselves don't care....

Haters are so desperate to discredit Telsa vehicles, that they've stooped to calling everything that makes them superior, safety hazards. lol
Jealousy makes you ugly, and drops one's IQ by several points.

Haters are so funny. I admire your ability to ignore reality so hard.
I would ask you why is that Elon's companies absolutely dominate many industries then, but I'm sure you have a series of crazy conspiracy theories to explain those away.
I guess if everything you do is fatally flawed, you end up as the richest person on the planet. That's how the world works, right?
I'll take a dependable Tesla truck of any kind over the ship GM and Ford are pumping out, I have had 1 of each since 2018 and both were such junk I have to drive a 3/4 ton diesel I barely need for better dependability. Cybertruck on order.
Remove all 18 wheel trucks, dump trucks and busses.
My opinion only, of course.
no $hit sherlock, if you get homer to design a car for north american morons, then you will end up white elephants.
Will be near uninsurable.
Considering you can't repair stainless a door ding could potentially total the vehicle much less a fender bender. The thing overall is a rolling lawsuit.
@@whichgodofthousandsmeansno5306
Considering it won't be easy to "door ding" it (or key it)...I don't think that'll total it. A fender bender remains to be seen
@@OveToranger Yep a lot of what if speculation and fear mongering on this one with little to no substance. Edison also put out a great deal of prototypes that didn't pass muster before he came up with final products which he openly admitted was how you learn what not to do or as we put it today "Identify failure modes."
Too many getting their exercise from jumping to conclusions.

Its possible to import it to Europe, no problem and its legal. Cybertruck is not
@@TheEdmaster87 I noticed in my travels that no one drives an open pickup truck in Europe. When I asked the locals the answer was consistent, everything would be stolen from the back anytime the truck stopped for anything. I didn't really believe it to be that bad but was then directed to look at all the alarm systems that seem to be on every private residence.
@@TheEdmaster87
That's a baseless assumption.
In it's current form it won't be legal, but not for safety issues. It's like the color of the turn signal, and other minor issues. Different charging standard too.
Tesla is working on an European version, but it's not a priority as they have a multi-year backlog from just US orders.
What safety requirement does it not meet?
It is not in the talks because Tesla has the WORST AI in business, years behind their competitors.
The only reason that ADAC (Avoidance Detection and Collision) works better in the USA is because you guys are dumb, don't have proper driving lessons, and go about texting or using your phones while driving, instead of actually driving the car and pay attention to the road.

Nope. It's a piece of crap. My old F-150 is a better truck and can haul more cargo.
One of the most idiotic vehicles in history...
"Form ever follows function." Louis Sullivan
"Go Tesla!"
@@OneRedKraken
Hater's cope.
You either embelished things or flat out lying (perhaps out of ignorance)
Starship being inches from orbit?
And if you didn't think this Twitter acquisition wasn't a totally vain thing on his part. Explain to me the rebrand. That would be like someone acquiring Coke, Ford or Mattel and renaming it FizzyX, Xmotors or Xtoys. Complete brain dead move
Unless you are a moron and are doing it to boost your ego because you have some obsession with the letter x.
And lastly. Calling the Vegas tunnel somenkind of success Is just. Wow.

Cybertruck looks better than any modern pickup truck, but is a ridiculous vehicle. It's not even allowed on the roads (which is good, considering it'd kill pedestrians), it's way, way, way too heavy, the paramedics can't reach you due to its windows, and so on.
Hyperloop is a fucking joke. Anyone who is not below the average AI understands it has no way in hell of ever becoming more practical than the alternatives.
As for the Boring company tunnels... There's a thing called the subway, which for the most part works a hundred times better.
SpaceX, on the other hand, is a phenomenal success in pretty much every way. Not just in rocketry, but in any field. That's what Musk should focus on 100%.
