    to Parents: childhood until puberty is the most important time of all. it builds our personality and the way our brain works.. so this means all the things that you do will effect the mental/brain function of the chidren/teenager. This also includes our feelings.

      totally agree with you. I've been trough many bad things since elementary-high school. those bad memories won't forget easily. still haunting me until now. and the worst is all those things affects my psychology, perspective, the way I see this life. I hope I can be a nice, wise and caring mother when I have child

      i could relate to you..... i was bullied when i was a kid and my father always stops me for whatever that i may wish to be.... so these memories stuck up to me until today.... maybe that is also the reason that a teacher told me that i have no insight of future and i am pretty pessimistic.... which are both true....

    I know how does it feels a bit. because my parents especially my mom used to love my niece more than me. everytime she get good grades or something good by her own, she always praise her, and in the end of the day she would scold me, like "why you can't be like her?" "get good grades then I'll praise you in front of your sisters and niece" and it hurts me so much.

    Favoritism is usually the root cause. Normally in Asian culture the older brother is considered more important cause he's predicted to be the breadwinner of the family in the future. So Asian parents will favor him more it's ridiculous. I'm an older bro in an Asian family and my parents used to favor me over my little brother but when I was around 13 I started to force them to think of my little bro equally. When we went shopping my parents said to just buy me clothing and give my old ones to my little bro but I forced them to buy clothing for him too or I wouldn't buy any for myself. My family treats us all equally now and me and my siblings are extremely close. I'm glad these two brothers are talking again because there's noone more important than your own siblings.

      Not just the older ones get treated better than the other sibs. We are 7 in my family 6 girls and 1 boy but whenever we need something they always favored my brother and he's not even the eldest. You can really feel that there's a gap between the affection they give to him and to us, their daughters. And until today, I still feel that they treat him differently. Btw you're so sweet to your little bro.

    My younger sister and I first did not speak for 1 year, spoke again for like 4 months then did not speak again for 1 year so we spent 2 years of our lives not talking and the root of everything was also favoritism. :(
    Luckily, we managed to fix our problems but I just wished parents loved all their children EQUALLY. All kids deserve love.

      @Ash sttarlightts It seems like she's suffered enough having her kids not speak in so many years, if the fault lies with the mom why didn't he just stop talking to her instead of taking it out on the brother? I think everyone is at lease a little at fault in some way honestly.

    • @artistflare9072
      @artistflare9072 4 роки тому

      Am i the only one who thinks its not the mother's fault. What does her actions have to do with them both not talking to eachother. It's kinda like saying this teacher pays attention to this student more so I'll never talk to them. Also, let's say its the mother's fault. The bed and army incident happened when they lived alone so why did they not talk to each other when the entire family lived together. Just because the mother scolded the younger for swearing? Just because the eldest clothes got passed down? Because of trivial things like these one brother wouldn't wake up his brother if a fire takes place but would call his mum first. Even strangers will help eachother in situations like these. This has nothing to do with the parents in my opinion

      Kpop Lover puberty is when you start noticing things and begin making more mature and frikin rebellious choices.. its basically turning point of becoming a physical adult. theres hormones, shit going on that makes you feel more dramatic. so it sets the kind undertone of the rest of your life from then on.

  • @laleriii

    The only thing puberty does is make you more feel more angry. You can't just blame puberty and do nothing about it. The stage of puberty is when you should pay the most attention to children because they can't control their feelings very well and they overthink your ignorance and think that you hate them

    People keep talking about how handsome the older one is but they look very similar. The younger brother just isn't as fashion forward as the older one with his hair, clothes, etc. I think he has the potential to catch eyes too he just isn't upping his game
    I do believe the mother favored the older simply because of his looks. To say she forgot about him asking for a bed shows that he isn't as important.

    This is why I like Hello Counselor. Normal counselors wouldn't do this sort of thing. People always used to say that u needed a proper counselor on the show which made me angry (most of the time because sometimes people actually did need proper counselors) because people didn't think that they had consulted a counselor beforehand and it hadn't worked out. People probably used the place as a last resort. Sorry - went of topic a bit :) Coming back to the point, even if they are still awkward now, they have both interacted and spoke which would at least loosen the awkwardness around them a little bit. Bringing out into the open seemed like a really good choice for them to get closer.

    • @shjns_
      @shjns_ 7 років тому +14

      Swetha K Not really. Sure it worked well here but there were a bunch of times where the hosts make light of the guests' problems (which i get because this is just a show) and it does more harm than good to be honest.

    • @swetha.9108
      @swetha.9108 7 років тому +4

      Yeah, I know. That's why I said most of the time because hello counselor is also comedy orientated like you said. I'm talking about most cases like this one. There was one where a father always went to amusement parks and even forgot his daughter's name. That one didn't go so well as this one. In this one, the two brother's weren't necessarily bad to each other and didn't refuse to change so it was fine whereas the father I mentioned above refused to change and was basically forced into saying he would change. I guess it kind of depends on the sort of problem people face, people's personality and if they're willing to change.

      There is family therapy that would bring the brothers together and have them voice their concerns, and parents as well, so therapy would have actually been beneficial. There is actually a lot of role-playing things in family therapy that look like having the brothers facing each other, saying their thoughts, hugging it out, having a meal together, etc.

    • @swetha.9108
      @swetha.9108 6 років тому

      whodoyougohometo First I apologise is I spelled your username wrong. I know there is family therapy and I feel like Hello Counselor was a way to sort out the problem before they actually went. In this, they helped the family discover what the problem was between the brothers. If they went to a family therapist after this, it would be more beneficial because they what the source (or partly) of the problem was and could work to make it better. I feel like this problem was more of them finding out the problem rather than helping them grow closer together which can be done at a family therapist like you said.

    This seems like a mess of a bunch of different factors that just got dragged on for way too long. Starting from the parents' bias towards the elder, the surprising fact that the younger never brought it up judging by the reactions of the parents, the older brother's apathy and the younger brother's ego. The fact that they never confronted each other directly only seemed to fuel the fire, and over time, both brothers just developed a large ego of not conceding to the other. Notice that they used the term 'awkward' a lot throughout the discussion and the fact that they were envious of others who are close to their siblings. Good to see that this pushed them to be closer to each other though. They clearly needed it. The fault seems to lie largely in the parents' unfair treatment so it would have been essential that they had each other's backs at least. Alas, they were young and unassuming once upon a time so they lacked a bit of tact in that sense. It sounded dramatic at first glance, but the concern is not as serious as it seems.

If you can love all your children and give them what they need equally why have kids.

    I think I understand how the younger brother feel like. I still remember how my parents really excited when my first older sister continues her study to one of the best university in my country and my dad rather drive for 9 to 10 hours to send her away to the university. And then 10 years later, I enter the same university that my sister enroll, but they were not excited like they did before. I moved to other states for the first time in my life, without my parents accompany me, but I'm glad that my first older sister was there with me to send me away. I know my mom and dad love me eventho I can feel the different, but I do believe that their love are just same for me and my sisters. The gap of year between me and my sister are 10 years, and we are really close eventho she now 30years old and already have 2 sons. On the other hand, I'm still a student. Hahahaha. I think I can get close to all my sisters just because we all are girls, and girls communicate to each other easily (lol I guess so)

      . its the parents fault
      my older sister is 24 and im 19 and now we dont talk and we just fight .. the problem is i have always felt my parents love her more and people and friends say she is prettier than me and smart and sociable but im not.. and i was always wearing her old clothes .. when i try to wear her clothes she gets angry about it and even hit me ... but when i buy some new shirt or pants and she wears them first i act normal and dont get angry about it ...
      i know my parents love me but u cant help but feel jealousy because i know they care about her more ..
      actually one day my mom told my sister not to tell me the places she goes to eat at because she thinks i am jealous ...i didnt like it because my mom talked behind ny back.
      one day it was my birthday 4 december and she didnt bring me any gift or just say wish me happy birthday even tho she have a job ... but we were hanging out with her friends and she payed for herself and told me to pay for my self even the little things like street food or a snack ... but tomorrow was her boyfriend birthday and she bought him gifts (clothes and a watch ) and prepare a surprise party in our home cake and stuff .... and when i told her why u didnt buy me anything im your little sister she told me she dont have money and later she was at work and she send me a message she would give me some money if clean our room because her boyfriend comming ( she told me she dont have money but she have money now bc her bf coming )
      actually now we dont talk at all and i do really hate her and i dont respect her at all ...

    I genuinely understand the younger brother on a personal level. Initially, as a sibling who unconditionally loved their older brother and looked up to him, he could not stand the mean actions coming towards him, so the hate going back was inevitable sooner or later. I got the perception that throughout the younger years of childhood, the older brother started to become annoyed of his younger brother and began to act indifferent towards him while the younger brother continued to enjoy his presence and wanted to hangout with him. However, as years passed by, not only did the older brother become indifferent, the parents are showing more love towards the older sibling. As a result, the hurt is evident in his eyes and as a person who has been through the exact same scenario, it is just extremely hard to live with a happy demeanor and want to love those who hate me especially when they are family and despite the fact that we both put continuous efforts to be happy, at this point, it is extremely difficult. :( Sorry for basically sharing my life story but this mental abuse has ruined us and my older brother and I are on the path to become like these boys here..

I hated him and my parents growing up but when we were a lot older he casually mentioned that his teachers compared him to me a lot and wondered why he was stupid. IMO the little brother didn't show respect to his hyung because his hyung didn't really act like one. I agree with what eunwoo said, it would be better if the hyung also shows some interest for his little brother and takes care of him. Anyway, they're both adults now so they should act like ones and deal with each other instead of running away from each other. Their poses are so cute btw haha

    I cried a lot while I watched it. It was just reminds me about me and my father. I used to loved him so much back then, but things got messed up and I stopped talking to him when I was 16. We even threw punches at each other.
    Now, it's almost a year when we starting to talk again, but we can't get as close as we used then. He still easily lost his temper at some moments and sometimes I can't hold myself to not fight him, but as the time flies, I tried to get a hold of myself. It's not easy, because my father has bad temper and always cursing towards me and mom whenever he got angry. It hurts me and my mom so much, she even told me that she got shocked in their 14 days of marriage that my father cursed at her badly for things that actually not thay bad. As the only child, I've been going through on this for my whole life. I've been frustated, depressed for many times, especially when I was in 8th grade because I got bullied in school, too. I also got jealous when I saw fathers were so close with their daughters, but the wounds from my childhood restrained me to forgave him.
    There were sometimes when I wished they never get married at first. I told my mom that she should've married another man or get divorced, but she remained.
    Yes, people think that it's impossible to stopped talk with your family members, but actually it's not. We want to talk again, but the wounds won't heal.

  • @stephanieanne842

    really this concern isn't that deep if u exclude the part that they haven't talked for 8 years to one another and like the younger one said he was waiting for the older one to talk to him first, all they needed was courage because they don't hate each other in the first place they just didn't know how to start a conversation. if the parent didn't give up on the idea of them mending things on their own then it would have worked out because she said you do this on your own and just hanged up when she should have sat both of them down like they did on the show which was done so easily. The people around them gave up on them so easily that they thought that the relationship between them would never work out as well. if others give up on us so easily, what's more if we do it to ourselves became their mindset. I cried because i have an older brother and a younger sister and I love talking to them and our anger literally ends within a day and no matter how annoying we get I still worry for them and I love our little laughter and inner jokes. I wish those two stay close to one another and lol give props to both men they are both hotties😉

      I think he's cute, but I honestly am more interested in the stories than looks. Stop worrying about looks people lol
