We have a lady at work that comes from Zimbabwe, my main aim was to freak her out with some Shona, but I ended up really enjoying your videos so I think i'll carry on learning it :)
The way I love learning Shona. Can't wait to attend this lesson. I want to surprise My Zimbabwean friends speaking there language. Thanks for the lesson. Uganda
I really like your videos and the way you repeat the words so I can hear the right way to say them. I'm looking forward to the next set of videos you make.
Great teaching. Very few UA-camrs start teaching from vowels and consonants to build words, which is the right way to learn Shona reading, writing and pronounciation. Zvivaka mazwi or mashoko.
Not sure if we have "-dg-". Intead, we used "-dy-". Not sure if language experts have changed. Does this also mean we now have "-bg-" instead of "- bw-" as in "zvobgo" and "zimbabge".
Thank you very much indeed for this video! Could you put lesson three online? The two lessons that are available so far have helped me a lot! In case you were wondering who is learning Shona out there: I'm a German who wishes to learn some Shona so I can talk to my sculpting teachers from Zimbabwe in their mother language. Therefore I would be especially interested in expressions with which I can address my teachers with respect.
Thank you for making these nice videos they are very useful, but you made a mistake in lesson number 2 on the word Kudga it should be kuDYA. Thank you.
+jdykstra3365 My girlfriend is from Zimbabwe, to greet your girlfriend's parents you can say "Makadi Henyu". Ma-ka-di Hen-yu. It means "How are you" in a formal way. Good luck!
fodya ....... fodga. Kudya .......kudga . Yes you are correct since you are using other shona languages , we have more than 10 shona dialects. I think you should stick to the common, simple shona . so that it will be easy to understand
