They guy I’m dating is from Zimbabwe and speaks Shona and never mentioned this to me until I hear him speaking to his family on the phone and asked him what language he was speaking.. He said since he’s living in America he doesn’t plan on teaching his kids Shona and I think it’s crazy for him not to...
Hi LaToya thank you for supporting. I think it will be nice if he gives the kids a little bit of Shona.
What does Mai Kundai or Mai mean when added to a persons Name?
Hie Love Mellow thank you for watching Mai means Mom/Mother . When someone say Mai Kundai or Mai Rumbi or Mai Nyasha etc it’s basically saying Kundai’s mom. In Shona it’s common to call people as that usually with their firstborn’s child name.

Vata -sleep. Heya -ok? it depends on the context
Did you know that there's no Shona word for cousin
Isn’t it interesting? They are brothers and sisters because they are closer.
Hanzvadzi is a sibling of the opposite sex, simple as that. Fun fact: there's no Shona word for cousin.
i really didn't know half of these.💀💔
Im glad you learnt something new! Thanks for watching 😍
