*'It'* is a simple pronoun used for non-human objects and especially in cases where the sex of the object is unknown, in the English language, humans are referred to as object too, direct and indirect objects, its. It's not that deep man lol

We have to remember that words have meanings and that we agree upon those meanings to be able to have a shared experience and reality that can be described. In your comment, you are humanising animals; the definition of "person" is a *human being or individual* , and the suffix 'hood' means *the state of being* , yet you're applying 'Personhood' to animals. We evidently don't live in the same reality of have a shared experience of the world, so may have to disagree 🤝🏾

I've personally known psychopaths and they walk among us -- they are not redeemable, at least in their present life - they have much to learn and will be forced to return. Death is only the "enemy" if you don't believe in an Afterlife, and time is just an Earthly concept.

I think what happened here was Mel didn't realise she was debating against a full-on troll here.
Eg. Saying things like "you maybe haven't thought about this stuff before" and "I was like you once". I assure you, you were never like this woman who has clearly spent a *lot* of time thinking about this but instead of doing so honestly she's spent that time soaking up the entire anti-vegan playbook from somewhere or other. Her responses weren't coming from a place of ignorance - she was well-informed with all the favourites. Probably spends a lot of her time debating vegans on Facebook and recycling all the tired old debunked anti-vegan arguments.

Great outreach Mel. You're so strong, it's impressive. When I argue with people, it's so rough sometimes as some people just lack the empathy to think past their own experience. It is frustrating how people attempt to poke a hole in your moral standpoint. I myself usually say what Dutch politician Marianne Thieme used to say: "I'd rather be inconsistently right, than consistently wrong.". This takes away their medication arguments because you can't compare 0.5% milk in some medication which you might use a short period of time with consistently buying animal products and actively contributing to animal abuse. Also, next time that someone tells you that you do this for content, you could tell them that you'd rather not be making this content and that you do it out of necessity, as people seem to not understand it. That in an ideal world, people would know this and you wouldn't need to stand there. Steve and you are amazing people. 🌱
