I think that MVP is about sooooo much more than just statistics. They matter, but MVP is also about the intangible elements that numbers usually don’t show. Barkley is amazing but Allen clears in terms of MVP for that reason imo.
Yep. This is why wins have to matter and be counted. Some players contribute more to winning than others. @@carking07 Nick loves to say that there is no Brady/Manning this generation because Mahomes is both. He has the individual accolades of Manning and the rings of Brady. Lamar getting more MVPs or Allen getting some with a 4-4 all time heads up against Mahomes takes away that narrative.
He likes to say he's 'always right about the Bills' but he swore up and down for 6 weeks the Bills weren't making the playoffs last year. The only reason he was up on the Bills this year is because he didn't think they'd be a threat to the Chiefs 3-peat at any point, no one did.
@@aethere4l Nick is right… there is no Manning/Brady… it’s just Mahomes until someone else does something about it. Lamar is the only one even in the convo at this point. I hope Josh gets MVP this year but let’s stop acting like him winning an MVP changes annnnny narrative with Mahomes.
Last season was the year for the Niners. The window closed after they choked away the Super Bowl.
Josh is definitely the MVP
Why did Lamar win it last year, based on all their logic for Josh?
The Ravens had the best record & were 10-2 vs +500 teams, Bills have only beat 2 +500 teams. Saquon's the MVP.
@chim572 so it's a team award? Does Lamar or Josh play Defense or special teams? It's the most valuable player award. Take Josh off the Bills and they might win 2 games. Take the others off there's and they still have tons of weapons. He's the MVP and was last year too. Mahomes and Josh should have split the last 4.
The one year where Josh is inarguably having an all around fantastic year, let’s give it to the running back in Philly! 😭 Goalposts keep moving. If Josh doesn’t win it this year, regardless of what anyone else is doing, the award is biased. 🤷🏾♂️ GO BILLS!

Like 9:21 PLEASE give Kyle some blame. Wtf guys.
It's a team game, but that doesn't mean that certain players don't have an outsized effect on winning. Mahomes is one of those guys. Brady was one, too. And Allen is that guy now, as well.
That said, I think Barkley gets it if he breaks the record. You can't let an all-time great season on a championship-caliber team go unrewarded. It hurts the reward's value if it's always given to quarterbacks, no matter what other positions do.
Barkley isn’t just putting up numbers. This same team flamed out last year down the stretch. Barkley has clearly been the difference for this team.
