The slide rule allowing the QB to force themselves down… it’s such a BS play. So a defender is naturally going to attack someone low so if a quarterback is going to slide and make themselves low, put two and two together and you’re surprised that this type of thing would happen? I’m sorry, but once the quarterback leaves the box and makes themselves a runner. They should have no special protection no other position can slide down like that especially if someone like Patrick Mahomes can use it to fake out a defender.
Slide rules are dumb in general. And im not saying that as some old head who misses the old days. These qb's are too big and too mobile. if they choose to run past the line of scrimmage they should be treated like everyone else.
I certainly have no problem with the way Jacksonville reacted. But there's no question that quarterbacks have it way too easy. As a defender, with the speed of the game, its near impossible to treat a specific player on the other team so differently. The way Mahomes runs around the field with nobody wanting to breathe on him is embarrassing. Whatever happened to offenses being intimidated by the defense anymore?? Can we please bring back mean defensive football teams??? 08 Steelers, 00 Ravens 13 Seahawks ????

@DanielRemsburg he timed it. He knew he was gonna slide and timed it and directly aimed for his head. This is a professional level of accuracy. He should've got suspended the whole season
Explain how he is dirty is it just because you seen video where he hit Caleb Williams that was still on the field a legal hit and people saying he dosent like qbs
As soon as he crossed the line of scrimmage with the ball, TLaw became a runner. Ppl hit backs and receivers like that all the time, but theres a double standard for QBs.
Demeco said this yesterday. He's defending his guy and also giving a different perspective. Stephen A. is talking to be heard. Oh and CJ got hit last year and suffered a concussion vs the Jets and the guy who hit him didn't get fined or suspended. The team here (who I normally love) are showing selective memory like CJ hasn't been hit already. Give me a break!!

Jalen Hurts got Hit OUT OF BOUNDS by a Jets defender - NO CALL . Double standard for this kid. He is big and was running at the defender and slid late. If you listen to Doug Peterson's press conference. You know he did not do what he has been coached to do when it comes to sliding.
So what the difference between when some tackled mixon illegally and he missed 4 games for injury so what’s the difference they didn’t suspended that guy for that many games !!
There's a reason QBs look skinny and unatheltic compared to their peers and it's because they kinda are, NFL doesn't like other players laying hands on them even if they make most unsafe plays or moves, if they keep going like this they might as well put ribbons on their hips have them play tag football while the rest of the team plays the real sport.

Rex Ryan literally said the exact same thing yesterday on Get Up. This is what Corey Holcomb is talking about.
SAS u. Tom
In my Soulja Boy voice Corey Holcomb, Corie Holcomb
The one angle from Trevor Lawrence's angle is especially damning. Trevor is already sliding, and Azeez is basically stationary, no momentum, and then he aims down with his forearm to club him.
Yea, if you slow the video down there’s no question it was intentional
@JayRoberts244 The whole conversation about fake QB slides doesn't apply here. The dude saw a guy literally going down and still wanted to hit him.
@@Mericaa47 my comment was simply that the illegal hit was intentional
@@JayRoberts244 yeah I was agreeing
@@Mericaa47 all anyone needs to do is look how low Azeez was when he made contact. There’s only one reason he broke down that low before launching, he knew he was sliding down. Unbelievable that people are disagreeing
Dominique’s take about doing what you NEED to do but not acting like it’s the right thing to do is perfect.
WTH was Foxworth even talking about?!
I get what Demeco is saying. Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes does it all the time. They take advantage then want to cry when they get hit.
Lamar, Allen, Mahomes, all the qbs do it. Let's not single out people when it's everyone. It's a terrible situation but the way the game rules say when a qb becomes a runner, then they should be able to be tackled as a running back.
Just shut up! It's obvious you are stupid and clearly don't know what you are talking about!

@@JackSlatersPontiacyou are the reason this sport is pussified.
Lamar Jackson doesnt do it, He take his hits like a man
While this hit was clearly unnecessary Demeco is not wrong. QBs are taking advantage of the hit rules. If you cross the line of scrimmage you should be considered any other player. Pat Mahomes takes advantage of it all the time
Trevor Lawrence didn’t do it in that play
@@trentl4395 I never said he did but thank you for your useless input
Doesn't matter if you like the rules or not you still have to abide by them.
True
If there’s a problem with late sliding or QBs trying to get cheap yards on the sideline, then start throwing unsportsmanlike flags for that. But keep penalizing hits like this heavily too. 11:11
They're all missing Foxworth's point as if they're trying to justify any old fights they got into. All he's saying is that there is truth in what coach said and these quarterbacks as a whole (across the league) are setting themselves up to get hit and it needs to be addressed from both sides of the field.
Hatin on Houston is unnecessary 💯🤘🏽.
I like DeMeco but if it was Cj I bet it wouldn’t be an overreaction 🤦♂️
That’s exactly what Shannon Sharpe said
Well that’s something Demeco will never have to worry about, considering that CJ either slides early or puts his shoulder down when he wants that first down.

What is a coach supposed to do? He supposed to defend his players?
Say his guy should not use his forearm to hit someone.
Defend him no matter what? So what if his team is taking steroids, beating up fans, illegal sports betting? There’s a time to defend, and a time to call out unacceptable behavior. If his guys were just walking around not playing football he definitely wouldn’t defend that. That’s why we have judgement.
@Anderson_Se7en they all do roads what are you 7?
No. When your player is wrong. All for supporting your players but support appropriate conduct first.
Nah, he is supposed to Coach, hence the title Coach.
If your player does wrong, you don’t blindly defend them.
The hit on Jameis last night was dirty too, but nobody’s talking about it
Yea Jameis is making only 4 million and is giving more production than Trevor who just got 300 million
I agree with the coach
Take off your brace and stop hitting people with it is one start
Flacco slid very late also
Very late! These qbs would have better chances of just taking a tackle instead of sliding.
exactly he running full speed wtf is the defender supposed to do
Flacco can’t even slide right. I remember one time he attempted to slide and broke his knee brace
You are right bro. I thought we play 11 on 11.
Hard to get all the way down when you’re 6’6”.
I get the suspension for previous incidents... but we've got to quit with these QBs! What are they supposed to do like DR said! Slow down and stop and wait to see if he goes down? Patrick Mahomes has been able to take advantage of these situations twice this yr that led to wins! The defenders are being hand cuffed! These stupid rules are leading to a worse game and more injuries! All that said, I hope Trevor is ok!
What are they supposed to do? How about not leading with their braced forearm to the head for starters? He could've broken his neck that way. That's why he was ejected.
That was actually very well said by d. Foxworth
No way lol

Easy fix, New Rule: Once a QB crosses the line of scrimmage and becomes a runner they CAN NOT slide or give them selves up. NOW EVERYONE KNOWS TO EXPECT TO GET HIT. IF THEY CHOOSE TO RUN YOU ARE A RUNNER. IF YOU DONT WANNA GET HIT GET OUT OF BOUNDS OR CURL INTO A BALL AND LAY/ROLL DOWN, LIKE RBs DO. Simple. Solves a lot if you think about it. It will reduce and eliminate these open slide hits, qbs will be more honest with intent and safer if everyone keeps themselves safe knowing impact is coming.
You gotta hit the Qb so they stop sliding late, QB are using these rules to their advantage.
Al-Shaair led with his elbow brace toward the head/neck, ridiculous that he isn't suspended for the rest of the season.
Your eyes don’t work go look again
Trevor literally hit a stutter step plant on his foot. If you tell me Jukes don’t start with a step closer than your stride, I’ll link tons of highlights. He said even then they had 5 yards. Average skill player runs 10 yards in 1.2-1.3 seconds, going together, that’s about .6-.65-.7 seconds of a reaction time before the hit. Which you can slow mo the time and the start of the slide and the hit occurs in the same second. Jumping would’ve likely got azeez injured because he’d have to think, plant both legs and jump within a second when seeing the stutter step Lawerence did which other qbs don’t do , or depending on how he jumped, his cleats could’ve landed on Trevor’s body, head or neck.
@@helper2708 .6 seconds is an eternity for professional athletes. Batters have to decide whether or not to swing their bat in .015 seconds against a fastball pitch. All the other players follow the same rules. Al-Shaair is a repeat offender, if this was his first time, there would be a fine and no suspension.
@@BigE-747 depends what you’re used to . A baseball player, that’s easy because you’re trained to have a fast reaction time. That’s like saying any nfl player can go on the field and hit a 100mph pitch that’s like saying the woman who Henry ruggs hit who died could’ve avoided the crash. Or do you want to make the case that a lot of ppl who got killed by drunk drivers should be alive. Google will tell you the average reaction time with research is 1 second and I can provide the article.
@helper2708 lol, so NFL players dont have fast reaction times only baseball players do, got it
It was a dirty hit by a repeated offender and he should have gotten suspended rest of the season it’s that simple all the other talk has no place in the conversation.

Azeez was already committed to the tackle. And it was a late slide.

Ummm Fox..... if a player can't play defense without mentally going into a cheap shot mentality, they're not equipped to play this game.
Going into cheap shot mentality because he can’t defend? So your saying from the time the ball was snapped Azeez was like hmmmm I’m going to cheap shot Trevor Lawrence.
Hes a Goon every team needs one!

There are good and bad people on both sides
Slide rules are dumb in general. And im not saying that as some old head who misses the old days. These qb's are too big and too mobile. if they choose to run past the line of scrimmage they should be treated like everyone else.
Here go Molly interrupting again. PLEASE and I mean PLEASE let them talk. She's so annoying
I LOVE how Coach addressed this in my opinion you couldn’t say it any better. And I also believe it’s true what he is saying is exactly how I saw it
I certainly have no problem with the way Jacksonville reacted.
You mean they don’t come with air lock brakes? 😂. People don’t realize how fast paced every down is.
Break this play down frame by frame and you'll see that Trevor does seem like he was intimidated. Seriously, watch any of the footage and pause second by second. This was malice disguised as 'defense' F Azeez....he knew what he was doing. You sound like a man that would love Rugby....proper Rugby would probably crush your dream NFL teams.
Agreed with coach. Just like the guy from Pitt with the fake slide a few years back. Now the defense is pulling off.
Guys will call The NFL Game today is Soft but then will say this is a dirty play. It'll always a no-win situation.
When the QB is giving up, you can't hit them. And he targeted the head.
@@Osideous I think he was targeting the waist. It just so happened the QB slid and PUT his head at waist level.
@DanielRemsburg he timed it. He knew he was gonna slide and timed it and directly aimed for his head. This is a professional level of accuracy. He should've got suspended the whole season
I like how he made sure to hit him with his arm that was padded so he wouldn't hurt himself.
Draymond green all over. Knocking people out giving people concussions and when they react now its a “over reacting “
Trevor slid late. Azeez is dirty.
Two things can be true and both actions need to be fixed league wide.
I agree. Man was already in launch by the time he started to slide. Ppl say he took 2 steps, but they're looking at it from replay. That's bang bang.
He shouldn’t been suspended in first place
Explain how he is dirty is it just because you seen video where he hit Caleb Williams that was still on the field a legal hit and people saying he dosent like qbs
As soon as he crossed the line of scrimmage with the ball, TLaw became a runner. Ppl hit backs and receivers like that all the time, but theres a double standard for QBs.
Amen!!!!!!!
lol how do you expect these dudes to stop full momentum with 3 yards between him and Trev when he starts sliding lol

Did CJ get obliterated by a linebacker while he was sliding?…. Yea that’s what I thought.
@@nikeguy2 I mean Brady even came out and said a qb needs to protect himself more. CJ got a cheap shot hit. Trevor could’ve slid earlier

This wouldn't happen if there wasn't many QBs taking advantage of that rule.
This has nothing to do with QB's. Azeez routinely does cheap shots on all players.
If his name azeez Jackson this conversation wouldn’t be this deep 😮💨
Jalen Hurts got Hit OUT OF BOUNDS by a Jets defender - NO CALL . Double standard for this kid. He is big and was running at the defender and slid late. If you listen to Doug Peterson's press conference. You know he did not do what he has been coached to do when it comes to sliding.

He not a wh ite boy quarterback with long blonde hair 😉
Was Mixon posturing on the field after taking a dirty hit to the head?
Mixon ain't a quarterback. Even a backup quarterback, or a journeyman is going to get the benefit
@@ammox4683 QBs are THE product of the NFL. You have to protect them. I don’t like the way it’s going, but it’s significantly better than watching back up QBs.
