Hello, everyone. NASCAR fan, here, and I want to say that this is the first time I've seen GT cars compete in the same event as Le Mans cars. Even though they're at least 10 mph slower. 😂 I can't wait to see what the 2022 IMSA season has in store.
Totally agree. It is possible, but they have an existing system with works (even though it didn't for me on mobile this weekend 😭). It would take a few changes, not sure if it'd be worth for them.
Imagine in 1980, starting 72nd on a provisional, drivers Lynn St.James, Tom Winter, Mark Welch, and finishing 5th in GTU, 17th over all, that was my prepared #81 Trinity Racing Mazda
Guys you need to add an overall gt classification on the live timing because yesterday it was impossible to follow the gt field. GTD cars are elected to win the GTD Pro if they finish the 24h ahead of the Pro field? Hopefully yes
There is not an 'overall' GT class podium, it's specific to each class. You can always deselect classes on the live scoring page that you do not want to see, imsa.com/scoring.
That's a bad decision. There should be an overall gt classification and the GTD subclass, like in WEC or SRO. I was following a GTD Pro cars yesterday but there was no way to see the gap with the GTD cars ahead
IMSA.com/scoring displays 'Behind Class Leader' as well as 'Behind Next In Class'. If you have feedback you'd like to share with our Competition staff how how they should handle classes, please feel free to email info@imsa.com
can someone explain to me why the LMP3 class gets its own pre-show race in the Prototype challenge while also racing in the big race (where they don't fit in at all?)
It's not the same drivers. In the previous race it's purely am drivers who are usually rich enough to afford it. But LMP3 is kind of redundant when you consider they are around as quick as the GTD cars while being worse overall.
@@adamb3129 LMP3 cars with full AM drivers are 1-6 seconds faster per lap than GTD cars depending on the track. LMP3 cars would probably be faster or roughly as fast per-lap as the old GTE's if they had pro drivers, depending on the track. Next year, LMP3's are the natural fit for the LMDh era unless they slow down next-gen LMP2's in 2024. This can be seen with the problems that WEC has had with LMP2's being roughly as fast as the LMH's.
I just wish IMSA would get on board with the live, commercial-free UA-cam streaming that GT Challenge already offers. Watching a race days afterwards is a bit deflating, but don’t ask me to watch TV commercial marathons (I mean, TV “sports coverage”). Happy to see IMSA - eventually. 🏁
