Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
That sunset...
Nice! Looking forward to this snack of a video!
Gorgeous gardens!
That large Hindu temple is the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple, which is built in a Dravidian (South Indian) style rather than North Indian. Interestingly most Indo-Fijians are descendent of North Indians from Bihar.
Hi Raz can i ask where are you from?I'm Curious 🤔

There is a sleeping giant in Barbados on the east coast
Cool
165$ per night? Is that avarage?
That was the cheapest room I found. But I booked it the day before, maybe you can find something cheaper in advance.
Everything in Fiji is expensive, we stayed in Shangri la resort during Easter holiday, two rooms four nights cost us 4500 AUD.
@@jimmeng2802 Whoa.
I wouldn't say that you are lucky because I see there's quite a bit of work in producing these great videos. Nonetheless, I'm envious and feeling improved that I get this great view of Fiji just my sitting on my duff for a while at lunch time.
Yup, you are out there creating your own luck and I'm appreciating your efforts and success.
I'd often thought that I'd endure those long flights and islands of isolation just to see some if these great pacific isle vistas. Those gardens are really amazing. It seems like it would really be worthwhile to just quit a boring bank job and go there and paint for a few years, or something. 🌲😎🌲
Woohoo 87 countries, Gabriel ⭐🕊️🌟☀️🌷🙌 Amazing sunset😊 what a kind and knowledgeable driver. Fiji looks so lush and green ☀️🌷🙌
Hello, Gabriel!! Just another thank you for all the work you put into producing these beautiful videos 🙏🙏❤️ Feeling stuck in the suburbs in America, some days they are the only thing that helps me keep my sanity, you are awesome 👏🏻👍🏻😘
I was stuck like you and moved to Mexico and started my UA-cam channel and happy now.
@@DougPVlogs You make enough from the UA-cam to not have to work a wage slave job?

South Sea Island is really cool. Amazing water. Also Blue lagoon island resort is where they recorded the old movie called blue lagoon. A really cool cave with fresh water
So happy to see you there! You are the one who motivated me to make videos and I also went to Fiji, in November!
I m not very impressed with Fiji. Maybe we see some hidden jems on next videos. I loved your Australia & India ones btw! Thank you for letting us travel with you through your videos
This video alone sure doesn’t make it look worth the time, trouble and expense to go there but I suspect the best parts are on other islands.
Eaxacy what I thought . Not blown away by any means
If you drink Kava, you will think differently 😅
Most of mainland Fiji is a dump, the outer islands is where it’s at
@@peregrino9154 Thats what i think also
The first Hindu temple I ever saw was this one in Nadi. Very mind expanding.Glad you are finally in Fiji and there are many island nations still to go.
Gabe, you can't leave Fiji without trying kava! You can book a tour that includes a kava ceremony. Let us know how you feel afterwards 😊😊
Anyone who can name the 87 countries Gabriel has visited, will receive a nice prize 😊
Got lucky with the weather, I think it's the tail end of the rainy season there
Yes its coming to an end for Cyclone Season in Fiji.
Please, visit some other Pacific countries, like Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Tonga, Samoa or some Micronesia countries. Love your videos.
French polynesia
Just wanted to add PNG to the list, Papua New Guinea, then checked that PNG is 4000 km from Fiji😉
@@danielawillbold880 Oh yeah, definitely. I forgot to put PNG.
17:18 kudos to you for referring that taxi driver Gabe and giving a kind workingman his due 👍👏👏
You need to take more time and visit the outer islands, Taveuni or even Lau.
That sunset was spectacular
Whilst in Fiji, Gabriel, you got to try drinking Kava. It is a drink that makes you feel high and is made from the ground roots of a plant found in the South Pacific. It is totally legal in Fiji, although I wouldn't advise you to take it to America, as it maybe banned there.
On some of smaller islands I remember the kava, BBQ, playing volleyball with the locals, eating amazing pineapples, drinking beer, great beaches (watch out for the dangerous fish you can stand on??) and great walks to watch the sunsets.
The main tourist hotel and condo area in Nadi is at Denaru these days. The older hotels at Smugglers Cove are usually used by budget travelers and back packers. If I am passing through Nadi for a few days, I like the hotel just across the road from the airport. I can walk there with my wheel bag and I can catch the local buses out front to go into Nadi town or Lautoka. There are also long distances buses, e.g. to Suva, that leave from the domestic area of the airport. My favorite place to visit in Nadi is the local produce market.
Yes, the outer Islands are the best places to stay in Fiji. Thats where the white sand beaches and swaying palm trees are. But so are the prices. The main island is like North Queensland minus the infrastructure.
The Garden of the Sleeping Giant was started by the late actor Raymond Burr (Perry Mason, Ironsides) and his house he shared with his partner is nearby and is now a restaurant. Better beaches are at Denarau Island, about 10 mins from Nadi, use to cost $1 on the Bula bus to go to Denarau from Nadi. Australia is the largest provider of foreign aid to Fiji, approx $88 million which goes to support ventures such as APTC (The Australian Pacific Training Coalition) for trade training. Taveuni is my favourite island in Fiji, so pretty, the International Dateline runs through it.
Thanks for the info !
I used to watch every Perry Mason on TV, and later Ironsides !
@@charlottethien3749 look up The Fiji Orchard, that was his former home. When I was leaving Fiji after a six month stint working there, for my farewell I was taken there for dinner. It is absolutely stunning, very peaceful.
Nadi is pronounce "nan-dee". Coming from someone who who Australian-Fijian and who has visited a handful of times 😊
Looking at the beautiful green rainforest and lush jungle on Fiji Mr Traveler, who would actually think that the Planet was on the cusp of an ecological and environmental disaster ? Astonishingly beautiful and healthy paradise island ! The world could learn a few lessons from Fiji for sure ....

Gabriel you have to India multiple times. You never go around the temple anticlockwise. Don't ever do that , Its disrespectful
Gabriel, wow so beautiful Island. we are waiting next video. Enjoy your adventure be safe. chaos
colorful sunset, nice greenery, 'no racism here'... - that's my takeaways, great video, man
At least one of their military coups was entirely based on racism.
Consider slowing down the camera work to truly take in the flowers and beautiful scenery in gardens. Savory the landscape and lush trees. So lovely! Breath in the beauty. 😊
Yeah good suggestion
Hi good afternoon, seriously consider South Africa, I live in Western Cape Province, town called Paarl surrounded with the most beautiful mountain. The rest of South Africa including Namibia/Lesotho/ Botswana/Mozambique is a must to experience. Some of the best accommodation you will find, the South, East and West Coast are unbelievable beautiful.
Great content here. Great hearing the cab driver's info
Great scenery Gabe 👍🏻 such a beautiful part of the world, nice job 👍🏻😎 safe travels to Hawaii dude
Let make a trip together
Nice Video about Fiji ❤Gabriel
Something about island life; the less developed and humble the better. Tropical islands are probably the only place I would be willing to live in poverty.
Nice video on Fiji. So much greenery there. Nice beaches. Consider visiting Newzealand also which is nearby and a beautiful country
Next you should try Papua New Guinea (PNG)
The capital city in Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 is a heaven for carjacking and robberies 😟
Fiji is Melanesian. Tahiti is Polynesian. In no way the same. Why would they speak the same language? Seriously, what Fijian taxi driver isn't university educated? How do you think he thought when asked this question?
He probably thought he was a foreign tourist. Which he is.
@@peregrino9154 He claims in his bio to be "wandering around the world for over three decades". Not a tourist who would be uninformed and insensitive to the way he speaks to others.
They speak Parlez-vous francais in Tahiti 🇫🇷🇫🇷
@@JackTaudi The islands of Tahiti were first settled by migrating Polynesians as early as 500 BC and later discovered by European explorers during the 16th century and then colonized by France. Fiji looks cool to visit. -21.041529891788098, -178.84453222679446 i found Gilligans boat lol some boat is on this island southeast of Fiji. Looks crashed. There is another boat out in the water half submerged. I wonder if that's normal.
Curious if a family has more than one son and all the families live together? Very interesting! Great tour Gabriel thank you! ~Cara 😊
It’s fully greeeeeeen, Fiji, so you chose right colour💚 for your intro pic🤛👏
Had a stopover there on the way to New Zealand. It was the time of year for the annual monsoon rains so no wonder it is so green.

I forget to say how much I like your shirt. The pattern and colours on it are brilliant.
And, all really suit your skin tone.
"The largest Hindu temple in the southern hemisphere". Because Singapore is just barely north of the equator.
Its lovely to visit Fiji and enjoy nature itself.
Awesome vlog! Great presentation. Gabriel’s vlogs are always fun and interesting to watch. I like the way he is very humble and has an excellent style of narration. I am addicted to his vlogs. Greetings from Plano, Texas, United States.
It is interesting to see all the Indian influence in Fiji. Another island with such surprising Indian influence is Mauritius near Madagascar in Africa (there are even more than 50% of people Hindus, so it is even much greater Indian influence, also on the Southern Hemisphere), another tropical paradise with amazing coral reefs, clear-water beaches and mountains. I was fascinated by that land as I saw one of documentaries from there, here on UA-cam. But Fiji also looks good, nice.
I have a friend from Fiji and he is Muslim Indian (but has never been to India). He says I should go vlog for my channel in Fiji
I believe the British imported many Indian laborers to work on the sugar plantations as they could not get enough native Fijians to do the work. Relations between the two ethnic groups has been at times a bit bumpy.
Indians immigrated across the Brit empire. Why Trinidad, South Africa, Jamaica, etc have a lot of Indian families that have been in those places for generations. Btw Mauritius had a bad oil spill that messed up its beaches. I wonder if it’s clean up yet?
For those who like visiting Temples there is one south of Sydney in Helensburgh, the Hindu Sri Venkateswara Temple. A Buddist Temple, the Nan Tien, is located around an hour further south in the suburb of Berkeley, Wollongong.
Hope you get out of that hotel tourist trap asap. Go to Denarau and then to the small islands off the coast with turquoise waters and white sandy beaches. Enjoy.
That's exactly what you'll see in the next video.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos thanks . Happy travels !!!

Nighthawks at the Diner is a classic, haven't listened to that in a while. Big Clash fan: ua-cam.com/video/HQIxmPG_9bw/v-deo.html
Why pay so much for hotel? I’ve found hotels for 24$ enquiring minds want to know hotel is smugglers cove
There wasn't much left when I looked, that was literally the cheapest place I found.
Hey mate, just be mindful. You are taking in bit wrong image of Fiji. Most of the culture in Fiji belongs to Local Fijian people, Not Muslims or Hindus. There are lot of Fijian stuff like handicrafts, Kava, Village life, their good attitude. So i would suggest to meet Fijian people instead also all the resorts along Denarau island and Mamanuca islands are one of the most beautiful places to see in Fiji plus Pacific Harbor, Suva, Beqa island plus there are 300 islands in Fiji 😂 so Fiji have lot of things to explore which cant be seen in 3 days. Anyways Enjoy and have a good one
Plus Diving, Snorkeling and Shark diving
Thanks for the info. I will show some local Fijian music and dancing in the next video.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos All good, Thanks for your incredible videos.

Lot's of love from Muzaffarpur India
Beautiful😊, one of the best sunsets I've seen.
Nice Video we have a huge Fijian population here in California and growing. Fiji is a really nice place to visit and also you will find the most friendliest people ever.
Why would Fijians be moving to California? I thought millions were fleeing from California. California is a "Socialist State" while Fiji is an Independent Sovereign Country. I live in WA. state and am working toward moving to Fiji to retire and I don't 'plan on coming back. "Bula!"
I wish you would show more pictures of the local people as well.
I completely agree ! And that goes for most or the travel youtubers !!!
Definitely agree
I don't have a problem with people believing whatever they want to believe, and I understand that beliefs will generally be dictated by your geographical location, so therefore you are going to get beliefs having majorities of different races.
But I just can not understand why people use the word "racism", or in this case "no racism" when referring to religions.
It just doesn't make sense.
Buddhism is not a race. Scientology is not a race. Taoism is not a race. Sikhism is not a race.
The taxi driver is probably referring to potential tensions between native Fijians (who are Melanesians and are black but not Africans) and Indo-Fijians (who are of Indian descent and follow Hinduism and Islam. Although there are some who converted to Christianity)
Hey Gabriel! Thanks for the awesome video. I am actually headed to Nadi in a couple weeks and i'm curious which hotel you are staying at? It looks great.
The Smuggler's Cove Beach Resort. Cool place. Not cheap , but seems there's nowhere cheap to stay around here.
How can go this country to live forever
Shame you had a short stay - so much more to see 😂
Congratulations Gabriel on your new country!! Always wanted to go there. I’m a big fan of the tv show Survivor and they shoot almost all their seasons around that area, and Vanuatu, west of you. They shot one season in the Cook Islands, east of you. Prost! ❤ 🥃
Fun fact: I applied for the second season of Survivor in 2000. No luck. I recorded a video for it, from what I remember it wasn't great, I wasn't used to being filmed and didn't know what to say.

That beach looks like it’s made of clay. Not very inviting.
I’m sure not all beaches in Fiji 🇫🇯 are like that
FYI for travellers living near Vancouver: there are now direct nonstop flights between YVR and Nadi !!!
Did the Vancouver to Fiji stop years ago. It went via San Francisco and Hawaii as the 747s in use then did not have the range to do it in one flight. Went on to New Zealand later.
where are the tourists if it is such a Paradise...?! not even many locals around...strange !
The locals are mostly living outside of urban areas except Nadi, Lautoka and Capital Suva. Plus it is off-season currently for most resorts in Fiji.

Super beautiful.
Great videos. I think Fiji looks a bit run down and unimpressive after the beaches and rainforests of Northern Australia.
Next video will show a much better side of the country.
Australian Beaches are too good . I'm someone who was born in Fiji and now live in Aust . The only difference is the water is too cold in Aust .
Horrendously expensive? I never would have thought Fiji would be so expensive for hotels and food..
