Hey Garry, my vote is in. I have 2 Preppy's one an 02 the other is an 03. I once eyedroppered the 03, and even used an o-ring, but still ended up having issues over time. Part of the problem is the section of the Preppy doesn't have a proper groove to hold an o-ring, and it ends up out of shape when the barrel is tightened down. Sure, I put enough grease on the threads, but that was not enough by itself. I thought about a converter,, but that was all it was - a thought, and I went back to refilling a cartridge.
Oh my, it is like choosing between a hamburger, a beef roast and a filet mignon. All are good, even great when you include the price. I am choosing the P136. Lovely shape, size, ink capacity and reasonable price. Yes, the 2000 is forcmany an iconic pen but for me it is far too wet and you have to hold it in a certain position for it to work well.

Lamy 2000
The Preppy to eyedropper you have to silicone grease and use an o-ring to avoid any leaks.
I eyedropper mine and get no leaks that way.
