@ShaneHummus what do you think of University Of The People would you recommend it to people?
Do you think medical laboratory scientist is considered as an introvert type of job?
Will digital marketing still be available in a depression or economic collapse?
Do you think that digital marketing will not be replaced by Ai?

As an introverted artist who tried and dropped out of an expensive art school and have been working in customer service hell to be able to pay the bills, I’m going back to school and ready to major in Computer Science. Its a remote tech job or nothing!! 😭
@@dibritto1298 for sure software development and IT is a lot better paying and very mentally rewarding go with comp sci

You literally do not need a degree to get into tech, just do a portfolio and network and constantly improve and you’ll get a remote job

Very informative. Thank you for letting us Introverts feel seen!☺️
You are so welcome!
when I was about to step into college, it was confusing experience for me especially on what degree to take. if I could turn back time, your channel will greatly impact my decision. great info shane. keep making videos. best of luck to your channel.
18:16 I feel so seen as an accounting major and an introvert. Yes, it is basic math but it's elegant arithmetic because you got to calculate things like the price of bonds, there are even equations that can detect whether there's fraud going on inside an organization.

Shane, one suggestion: If possible, put timelines in the video.
Please make more of these. Introverts Unite!!!
Extraordinary Editing!🔥
This video was great! The editing, cuts, and music are great! I'm not extroverted myself, but you've got to make a video for them too!
Thanks for all your work for us!
Nice to see that you're improving the edits of your channel day by day

Informative video as always!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for your video, It actually motivated me to keep studying on marketing, I wasn´t sure marketing was the best path according to my personality that is very calm and quiet. I will focus on digital marketing.
Out of these I think I'd most likely pick marketing. I prefer stuff that doesn't have a lot of math and it has a lot of practical uses.
Shout out to all my fellow introverts. Most normies think that introvert means being shy, but that’s not what it means to be an introvert. An introvert can be shy or an extrovert can be shy. Introverts can be quite confident, but we tend to have a quiet, self-assured confidence while extroverts tend to seek external validation. A confident introvert operates on internal validation that comes from knowledge that comes from introspection, observation and deductive reasoning. I’m a skeptic who’s not at all impressed by someone sounding like they know what they’re talking about. I’m impressed by genuine competence and someone actually knowing what they’re talking about.
Bro its literally just when you feel mentally drained constantly being around people because it doesn't come naturally to you and thus requires more mental energy to have good social interactions.
Please do a video where you account for the future proofness of these careers!
Awesome video on the best degrees for introverts! 🎓👍 Your insights on the various fields that cater to introverts' strengths were helpful and informative. 🤓 I appreciated how you explained how introverts excel in certain areas, such as writing, research, and analysis. 💻📚🔬 Your tips on finding a degree program that aligns with our interests and personalities were also spot on. 👌 Overall, great job and thank you for providing valuable guidance for introverts seeking the best degree options! 🙏

This was another information-packed great video Doctor Shane! As an INFJ with a strong (90%+) preference for introversion, I greatly appreciate your thorough and entertaining research.
I certainly agree with you and Susan Cain that introversion can be a superpower. However, the methodologies are like a power stack which have to be combined. For example, suppose an intelligent introvert observes something special. Researching in solitude, the indivdual discovers a breakthrough. If the individual suddenly succumbs to an extrovert temptation, like praise addiction ("Hey! Check out what I did!"), it is too easy for someone else to steal this idea (which may have required long hours of analysis). This warning also applies for extroverted significant others that introverts have relationships with. Sometimes the extrovert just cannot help themselves. Prodded by one-upmanship, your project could be shared online to everyone. ("Oh yeah? Well my spouse has developed something much better than yours!") Billionaire Peter Thiel (one of the Paypal Mafia) wrote in "Zero to One" that there is significant power in secrets. These can be stacked over time, emerging as a "superpower" feat.
Visualize hours of your hard work being applauded in the Powerpoint presentation of a competitor as their own, so that you do not have to see it for real.
* During training or mentoring, you teach to produce adequate results. However, you never reveal everything.
When you discover you have "super powers" it helps build confidence, you go to college and meet people with the same interests, the world really opens up for you. Same thing in the workplace where people see you as talented and valuable. Introverts are everywhere in these fields.
I have pre health profession degree so I’m so glad you brought this up

I got a question not really related to the video. So you said in multiple videos, that a physics degree is worth a lot, but I wanted to ask what your opinion is on that degree in germany, because from all I heard it isn't nearly as good as in the US.

What is the name of the book mention @4:44? You went way to fast with the pic too.
accounting major might suits introvert if you are not going to be an auditor as it requires a lot of communication with many clients.
My problem with comunicación is this: i speak in spanish, spanish is My native language... But i think in English.. all the time i think in English.
So, sometimes i have hundreds of responses and conversation and topics to talk about... But when i talk, i stumble because I never taught of the Words un spanish.
I strugle to talk, because My speach language and My thinking language are different.
Im gonna have to move to an English speaking country.. or try hard to think in spanish.
Dude I just realized this was my problem too. Thanks
Wow I didn't know this could be a thing. Maybe try reading books in English. To get your brain used to hearing English in your mind. 🤷♀️

For introverts CS is best(basically any STEM degrees)
Seth's class applies worldwide?
I disagree with Accounting being great for Introverts. If you plan on having a successful accounting career you would most likely pursue the CPA license requiring 150 hours in college or a masters degree. While finishing up those 150 hours I have realized that CPA roles are very intense with communication, if you are in Auditing you would have to consistently and effectively communicate with your auditing team and management applying tests using data analytics and giving presentations on your findings further explaining any abnormalities, you would also get constantly asked questions on Laws and regulations and the complexity of things you would know as a professional to form a successful economic entity, If you are in Tax Accounting i would argue that you would communicate even more, giving clients tax strategies, offering tax advice and planning for future retirement in terms of taxes you are constantly talking with clients about the internal revenue code and how it applies to certain people. You type memos, create presentations on financials and have to communicate as precise as possible to avoid any miscommunication that would further lead your clients to be mislead and break any regulations.
Just because someone is an introvert it doesn’t mean they can’t communicate. I think you’re getting confused on the meaning of “introvert”. I know a lot of introverts that love to talk to people and work with them, but at the end of the day they stay by themselves and recharge their batteries. Being an introvert doesn’t mean you’re socially awkward/anxious, you just need to take a break at the end of the day.
I always think about this when I hear accounting is good for introverts. My bf is an accountant and is constantly talking to people and constantly around people which for me (an introvert) would be extremely draining and I’d get burnt out very quickly.
@@theking-og4oe introverted people usually like to keep to themselves and don’t prefer to communicate with others. I don’t understand what your point is. My explanation is simple, accounting roles are not good for introverted people if anything your getting confused because I never mentioned anything about introverted people “not” being able to communicate, bro I literally typed it out. Lol
@@alex7585XxThat's called being a loner
I see a lot of tax accountants running their own businesses and primarily engaged in 1 on 1 conversations, so I imagine it depends on the characteristics of the job.
So you're basically limited if you're an introvert who isn't good at math and science 💀

Hi Shane. I could use some advice. Right now i am a extroverted 22 year old from europe who basically wasted the last 3 years doing nothing. So right now i really want to focus on getting a degree. Unfortunately all the degrees that somewhat suit me are either worthless or take too long to complete like pharmacy. My parents told me to just take Computer Science but i have like no skills or actual passion for it. It does seem interesting and obviously it's a incredible degree but i suck at maths and problem solving. What should i do? I could really use some help please 🙏🏻
What type if subjects do you like
I basically wasted 4 years too since graduating high school, but I'm now enrolled in college for cyber security. I have no background knowledge whatsoever, but still think it's worth a shot. My passion is baking but I know I won't make enough money with that, so I'm going to attempt to do this. You should look into it!
As a CS Junior, I feel like you just need to try one CS class before you commit to the degree in your case. Problem solving is a big part of CS but the problems have already been solved before, so don’t be afraid to ask for help from professors.
I feel so seen and can definitely relate to u last year I just went YOLO wanted to travel and basically didn't do shit while my mom basically dragged me ass to turkey cuz she wanted to buy some property there I just turned 22 on the 5th feels so weird being in the first semester and yet I still feel like I don't wanna stay in my south Asian country for uni reverse culture shock and depressed 😔
I wanted to do CS but rn business data analytics a good mix of management data science

But it’s actually great for me, because I get to connect with each of the workers one by one and it doesn’t bother me at all also WFH introvert with anxiety’s dream lol
Marketing??????? Party goer.!!
Why do you always insist that Computer Science is just "coding" it's not just "coding" it's understanding computers from the ground up. Software Engineering is just "coding" either it's understanding all aspects of what makes an application or piece of Software. Software development is the less technical version and is typical more front-end than Software Engineering, but they are typically used inter changeably.
This is mainly because like all engineering degrees you're a specialized technician or tradesman.
Shane would a game design degree worth it? what would you put this in a tier list?
I would honestly just studying computer science or IT, they are a bit more safe than just a game design degree. Game design is hard to get a career in sadly, I at one point wanted it but after research realized it was not good.
What was Dr. Dre's degree?
I did dentistry as a dental assistant cna rehab aide medical I’m so glad I quit those fields. They are a joke cut throat ba fake
What about aviation sector? Can introverts find a place there?
9:00 So damn based
I am not just "not good" at math..I am a complete disaster.
A deadly disaster '-'
Obviously if you have that attitude. The key to improving maths is having a growth mindset (not closed). Maths is a subject that gets easier with time. The more you do it, the more familiar you get with it. Work on the basics first.
@Sam Walsh Trust me. There are such things things as aptitudes. I had countless hours of tutoring and retook algebra several times.
The "attitude' was that I really wanted to learn but no matter how hard I tried, just didn't get it.
So am I that's why I stay away from Calculus
As an inteovert who used to be a nurse, I am uurprised BSN is included. I want to step away from it.
Is nursing not worth it? Can you tell me about your experience? I’m considering going into nursing and I’m also an introvert so it would be helpful for me to know
Please help me Shane, I will worship you as my lord and even as my father!! I just switched my major from Mechanical Enginnering to Painting, can you encourage me by telling this is a very wise decision because my parents and relatives think that I was stimulated by something.😭
You're trolling, right? I'm not Shane but in my opinion, that wasn't a wise decision. Although difficult to obtain, a degree in mechanical engineering would have you locked for life, probably. And even IF your passion is art/painting, most things you'll learn in college can be learned through the internet and through practice. In addition, you won't have to spend thousands of dollars to do it. If you're CERTAIN that you want to pursue painting then I'd suggest doing it outside of college.
Even you guys are criticizing me for my decision! I feel like I am making the right choice. I know there are lots of courses in my university that I can learn on the Internet or in other institutions, but the problem is I am borrowing loans and grant and scholaship from my university and the government, which means they are offering me money to take their courses and give me times to practice my skill. If I learn it in another institutions instead of the university, I will not get the scholarship from the university and either the government, in fact, I have to pay for their lessons instead.
@@littlecardboard825 Hope you are trolling, otherwise it is a bad decision
@@enesyazc7317 nop engineering degree is useless
@@enesyazc7317 Ok, those math courses that I learn in my college can also be accessed on the Internet for free, in fact, I find help from organic tutor when I am struggling on some problems, I am not looking helps from my professors because they are busy and their office hour time are short.
