Shout out to all my fellow introverts. Most normies think that introvert means being shy, but that’s not what it means to be an introvert. An introvert can be shy or an extrovert can be shy. Introverts can be quite confident, but we tend to have a quiet, self-assured confidence while extroverts tend to seek external validation. A confident introvert operates on internal validation that comes from knowledge that comes from introspection, observation and deductive reasoning. I’m a skeptic who’s not at all impressed by someone sounding like they know what they’re talking about. I’m impressed by genuine competence and someone actually knowing what they’re talking about.
Bro its literally just when you feel mentally drained constantly being around people because it doesn't come naturally to you and thus requires more mental energy to have good social interactions.
As an introverted artist who tried and dropped out of an expensive art school and have been working in customer service hell to be able to pay the bills, I’m going back to school and ready to major in Computer Science. Its a remote tech job or nothing!! 😭
18:16 I feel so seen as an accounting major and an introvert. Yes, it is basic math but it's elegant arithmetic because you got to calculate things like the price of bonds, there are even equations that can detect whether there's fraud going on inside an organization.
When you discover you have "super powers" it helps build confidence, you go to college and meet people with the same interests, the world really opens up for you. Same thing in the workplace where people see you as talented and valuable. Introverts are everywhere in these fields.

As an introvert, starting work as a mail carrier was a bit out of my comfort zone. I am still very much an introvert, but I've gained more confidence in my ability to communicate with others and I think this was a very healthy challenge for me.
This was another information-packed great video Doctor Shane! As an INFJ with a strong (90%+) preference for introversion, I greatly appreciate your thorough and entertaining research. I certainly agree with you and Susan Cain that introversion can be a superpower. However, the methodologies are like a power stack which have to be combined. For example, suppose an intelligent introvert observes something special. Researching in solitude, the indivdual discovers a breakthrough. If the individual suddenly succumbs to an extrovert temptation, like praise addiction ("Hey! Check out what I did!"), it is too easy for someone else to steal this idea (which may have required long hours of analysis). This warning also applies for extroverted significant others that introverts have relationships with. Sometimes the extrovert just cannot help themselves. Prodded by one-upmanship, your project could be shared online to everyone. ("Oh yeah? Well my spouse has developed something much better than yours!") Billionaire Peter Thiel (one of the Paypal Mafia) wrote in "Zero to One" that there is significant power in secrets. These can be stacked over time, emerging as a "superpower" feat. Visualize hours of your hard work being applauded in the Powerpoint presentation of a competitor as their own, so that you do not have to see it for real. * During training or mentoring, you teach to produce adequate results. However, you never reveal everything.
Thank you for your video, It actually motivated me to keep studying on marketing, I wasn´t sure marketing was the best path according to my personality that is very calm and quiet. I will focus on digital marketing.
I disagree with Accounting being great for Introverts. If you plan on having a successful accounting career you would most likely pursue the CPA license requiring 150 hours in college or a masters degree. While finishing up those 150 hours I have realized that CPA roles are very intense with communication, if you are in Auditing you would have to consistently and effectively communicate with your auditing team and management applying tests using data analytics and giving presentations on your findings further explaining any abnormalities, you would also get constantly asked questions on Laws and regulations and the complexity of things you would know as a professional to form a successful economic entity, If you are in Tax Accounting i would argue that you would communicate even more, giving clients tax strategies, offering tax advice and planning for future retirement in terms of taxes you are constantly talking with clients about the internal revenue code and how it applies to certain people. You type memos, create presentations on financials and have to communicate as precise as possible to avoid any miscommunication that would further lead your clients to be mislead and break any regulations.
Just because someone is an introvert it doesn’t mean they can’t communicate. I think you’re getting confused on the meaning of “introvert”. I know a lot of introverts that love to talk to people and work with them, but at the end of the day they stay by themselves and recharge their batteries. Being an introvert doesn’t mean you’re socially awkward/anxious, you just need to take a break at the end of the day.

I would honestly just studying computer science or IT, they are a bit more safe than just a game design degree. Game design is hard to get a career in sadly, I at one point wanted it but after research realized it was not good.
Finance seems good for introverts but as a fellow introvert/ambivert going for marketing (kind of an extroverted degree), dont let your personality type affect what you wanna do)
The math is really not that difficulty, it's really basic math nothing too difficult just depending on the school. Most accounting degrees are not that difficult the math is overly rated and is pretty easy, just got to remember a lot of things though
at the beginning it may be a bit more communicative effective but as you gain experience you usually will work on your own, depending on your role and the company. because some companies have meetings like no other meaning you'll need to be ready to talk, but some are more laidback.

Shane would a game design degree worth it? what would you put this in a tier list?
I would honestly just studying computer science or IT, they are a bit more safe than just a game design degree. Game design is hard to get a career in sadly, I at one point wanted it but after research realized it was not good.

I've been interested in accounting but sadly, my math skills says no.
The math is really not that difficulty, it's really basic math nothing too difficult just depending on the school. Most accounting degrees are not that difficult the math is overly rated and is pretty easy, just got to remember a lot of things though
