  • Sitting on the ground instead of in chairs is one of the best ways to add more healthy movement to your life with no extra time. Ground living/floor sitting is an amazing movement 'hack' that helps your mobility, strength & metabolism, and nourishes healthy knees, hips, core, spine and pelvic floors.
But, it can be tough to get started!
It's common to find that it requires too much strength, or that isn't comfortable for your back, or that you just don't have enough mobility.
This series is designed to help you get started with this amazing movement practice!
Today we're working on building MOBILITY for floor sitting - enjoy! You'll need a solid chair, wall or counter to hold for balance, a yoga strap or a scarf, and maybe a half roller or yoga block.
If you loved this, make sure to check out Part 1 (Strength) & Part 2 (Support & Comfort) of this series.
Mobility work is amazing and you can build a really strong foundation by learning the Controlled Articular Rotations (CARs) that I teach in my Joints for Life program: bit.ly/3zuQCM7

Great video, lots of helpful tips on how to get mobility into our hips! I've started floor sitting at a low table to eat my meals!

Would love to see examples in your life of how you floor sit. Maybe another video in the series. You mentioned eating, prepping food, watching tv. Other ideas would be reading, working on a computer. It would be helpful for me to see different options of positions to use during the activities.

Try watching the bolstering video - it has lots of position ideas. After that, be creative and explore which works best for you in different activities.
