- Technology continues to confound adults, but seems to come naturally to kids. In this episode of Scott Baio’s Take On Life, Scott remembers when he inadvertently wreaked havoc on a phone line due to a Mr. Softee truck distracting him, while Mark Jones often has to use his landline to locate his cell phone and George Saadi likens his efforts to scheduling these podcasts to herding cats. Check out our new installment, and see how Scott’s daughter came to the cell phone rescue. Questions/Comments: TakeOnLifePodcast@gmail.com.
My Wife's 14 year old Nephew had to show me where the Flashlight was on my i-phone 12! These kids, they're like IT experts..haha
Lol. My husband constantly turns the flashlight and needs assistance from our kids.
Our kids have become computer savvy starting with all the simple Vtech children's toys. They are way sharper in their minds at a young age. Meanwhile, we were playing tag in the street at the same age.
Ah. I miss the good ol "Operator... I'd like to make an Emergency breakthrough!" LOL
Hey Scott...guess what? I'm your age and NEVER had a cell (never wanted one). Just saw folks staring at them like zombies and freaking out if they forgot it and decided "No...not for me". Therefore, I'm free ALL THE TIME. Honestly, using my work and home land lines, I'm still easily accessible and when I'm out there are NO INTERRUPTIONS. My wife does the same as me. Life is what you make it. Just my take. THANKS.
I leave my phone behind a lot. And I yearn for a time when your phone stayed in the kitchen wall.
Hey its Bugsy Malone.
We have to bug our daughter to do everything on our cells too 😂😂
Without technology we would not have all these wonderful podcasts
The daughter bit is so hilarious and so common.
I saw Bugsy Malone the other day for the first time since I was a kid watching it in the theater. Where the Hell did time go? Glad to see you grew up smart and I enjoy watching your channel here.
Listen to Scott
Haha good video guys. Thanks for sharing! Yeah, I miss the days before cell phones, things. I don't know. Something different sbout it
I have a cell phone, a cordless phone, & a landline. During hurricane Sandy, my cell phone & cordless phone went out & were down for a couple of weeks. Only the lanline worked. The local electric company provides guidance. for what to do if there's an emergency or blackout. They tell you to have a landline to call to report the blackout & not to rely on cellphones because they can go down too. I will never give up my landline as long as i live. They'll never pry it from my hands!
My parents still have a rotary corded landline phone in their garage. When someone calls, they can answer it, but you can't use it to make calls.
Life was much simpler pre cell phones & computers. Kids do have a mystical technology knowledge. When my nephew was 9 he did not have his own phone, yet he showed me where to find items on my phone that I didn't even know I had. How the heck?😯 I have a landline too. A good backup.
GOOD KID MR.BAIO SMART KID NURTURE THAT BRILLIANCE .GREAT PATH SHES ON IMHO
Remember how pagers were high tech?!
Necessity is the mother of all invention.
We hung out at Burger King on Friday and Saturday nights. We actually had parents that would call the pay phone in the parking lot. They would ask whoever answered if "Sam Jones" was there. If they were they'd come to the phone.
I still have a land line...😎🇺🇸👊Hi Scott,Mark & guy I can't remember your name😂
Hi Dana, it's George.
Your land line is digital. Analog is gone, which is how they screwed us. I would take analog any and everyday if I could!
Landline is also needed for business owners even if home based, if you have anyone working for you. In other words if credit or any other form of contact has to be a landline.
My daughter is 15, I call her my secretary. 🧠📱
Personally, l carry my rotary phone everywhere l go.
current technology is very intuitive for younger generations as they've seen it from day 1. I had a TI99/4A when I was 5 and various Commodore machines right after and still use those as well as other 8/16 bit stuff without help. While I've keep up with technology all these years, the younger generation will still be better at current stuff than I will be but it would be kind of funny see what happen if you ask them how to load stuff in various 8bit stuff. They'll be asking CHatGPT how to do it which is kind of hilarious on multiple levels.
That is crazy Scott. But I get it my grandson is 4 1/2 and out does me on my phone. lol. I feel like a dinosaur. Btw I am exactly your age
I have a cell phone, but it never comes with me. I leave it on the end table where the land line used to be. (I'm 72)
Imagine being on a dark lonely road in the dead of night and your vehicle breaks down. That's the only reason why I got a cellphone. I will always have a landline. I know exactly where the phones are at all times and their always charged.
Think of all of the movies that couldn't have the same plot because now we have cell phones.......
Scott you hardly look like an old folk!
WENT TO WAUKESHA TRUMP RALLY....WHAT A BLAST
Ok well, yall created another Elon. Blessed.
My phone # is not 911
My son does mind
Im afraid I'll need help and not have my phone with me.
That actual situation wouldn't occur more than once or twice at most in your lifetime.
hahaha you guys are just old. its not that difficult lol
