Just wow! Thank you both so very much. I relish the way Simon didn't dominate the conversation, and allowed his Dad, Michael, to come forward. That is a real talent, I feel. And Michael gave practical advice about tea breaks, and having a "today list." I remember from a workshop once, many years ago, and the speaker said a "to-do list," also known now as a today list, is time honored by house wives...that's how they got things done. I know, I'm dating myself! And, Simon, the passion shines through in your eyes. Thank you so much, and to Michael as well, for your generous sharing. Hope you will save a chair at the table, Simon, I'm getting warmer about coaching with you.
Thanks for such lovely comments Linda and I am glad some of the tips made sense. I am sure my dad will see the comments here and he will love reading what you shared.
You are not lucky Michael Chapple you are a sensitive and courageous example of a man who has been through a great deal and has shown true strength by talking openly about the passing of his wife. I believe many men find talking through their feelings very difficult and I hope this video will comfort and strengthen them. You and Simon have also repaired the 6 years apart. Awesome. Thank you both Simon and Michael.
Thanks for the lovely comment - I agree, many men find it hard to open up and this took a lot of courage to do, I hope it helps inspire a few other people that being open and sharing can hold great power.
What a beautiful video of you and your dad. Love the tea tactic, you talk about it on the Zoom calls sometimes now I heard it first hand. Truly lovely video. Thank you Simon and Michael xo
This was so touching for me to hear today. I didn't have a great relationship with my dad so hearing this from you two is amazing. My dad passed away in 2015 and I was fortunate to have spent 3 months with him before he passed. But it was also a very hard time with lots of judgement from him. So glad to see you and Simon connecting on a beautiful level that I wished I had had with my dad. Micheal you have a very kind heart and so glad you chose to do this today it really puts a perspective on dealing with grief. My regret is that I never got to have any kind of close relationship with my dad but to see it with you and Simon is such a blessing. May you have a great day and a blessed one at that. Barb
This is so lovely, and having a very wise and supportive Dad back in your life. I have a feeling Michael will be appearing more in your videos. He gave good advice about dealing with isolation. Sending him love and thoughts on this anniversary. Inspiring video, thanks Simon.
You are a lovely, warm person Simon and you have a lovely Dad. It has really helped me to listen to your podcast, it was real life and I could relate to you both. Thank you to you and your Dad (even though he’s a Man. Utd. fan 😂) x
Love this podcast of father & son ❤ especially hearing at end about them reconnecting 😊
Small world Michael or rather a small island ! I live in Upper Ventnor about 4 miles down the Road !
What a touching video - got me right in the feels. Two wise and wonderful men, being real, and inspiring others. Brilliant.
Aw thank you that means a lot ❤️
