Hello Feedback, I'm Brazilian. In the sixties, our military government tried to build a road in the Amazon called "Transamazonica" that would go from the ocean to Bolivia, lots of people died during the construction due to diseases, heat, and lack of proper supplies. Workers would be without communication for weeks during construction. It was supposed to reach 8000km (about 5000 miles), but they stopped after 4000km, as the forest was growing back to the place they started it was an endless job and a very high maintenance road for pretty much nothing... So until this day, the road hasn't expanded, only maintained, it's still at the same 4000km. That said, there are no trains in the Amazon, but Brazil is the second country with the largest amount of airports because you either fly or swim through the Amazon. The Brazilian military runs frequent military drills regarding logistics in the Amazon. it's a top priority in Brazilian military strategy to be able to transition units quickly from South to North

Thank you for the information
There are many highways through the amazon one that goes from the Peruvian coast to the Atlantic
@celdur4635 You're being too optimistic when you say that there are "many", please bear in mind that although there are highways in there (5), this territory is twice the size of central Europe or half of India.
So indeed there are highways, 3.46 million kilometers of paved roads in the Brazilian Amazon, but the territory spams 6.7 million km², as a comparison, Germany has 0.35 million km² and a road network of 0.65 km of paved roads.
@@henryquecabral9357 Can't compare like that because the Amazon doesn't have the same population as India or "twice the size of central europe"
If it did, it would have many more highways

I wonder if this should give hope for the Belgian (and others) trees in the "bigger" expansion later this year? Belgium, Austria, rework some other European powers?

“It’s weird they added a communist path for Paraguay” Paraguay starts communist in the game since it came out. Of course they have a communist path.
I always found it weird it's commie considering the communist party never got in power. Maybe they are swapping what it starts as.
yeah but i think it became communist part way through 1936 idk since i usually play brazil

8:50 Canada didn't get Newfoundland "back". Newfoundland was a British colony and then briefly a dominion, always separate from Canada. It was basically bankrupt after WW2 and voted to join Canada.
Minute history
If I recall, even the vote was a rather tight one, as not only were there movements to keep Newfoundland independent, but also one to join USA instead of Canada.
Guess newfoundland lost out
I mean, it was as separate from Canada as the various Australian colonies were separate from each other. It was always considered as apart of Canda in the informal sense.

Heres some ideas I have that could add flavor and make south America more interesting.
1. Adding immigration mechanics where the different countries can attract immigration from europe (recieve manpower and maybe factory output for hits to stability and ideaology changes)
2. Adding a mechanic for the US to try to get these countries to join the allies. While the axis fights to keep them neutral or even to join the axis.
3. Interconnecting wars so for example if Argentina joins the axis then brazil and chile can join the allies and fight Argentina etc so that you're not just sitting on the other side of the world not fighting or doing anything.
Essentially take notes from kaisereich please the devs at kaisereich made Latin America very interesting and fun to play
Argentina having those decisions to attract immigrants from different countries in Kaiserreich is cool af, they should definitely try to implement it
It's a really good idea.
17:15 argentinian here, that guy made like a cult leader idiology that is still around in argentina, he was the most influential man of the 20 century and mostly aligned with the facist but peronism is whatever it has some kind of power in it, crazy he is goin to be in hoi4 tho
1. It's true that many Argentinians worshipped Eva Peron (his first wife) and some fanatics even tried to steal her body after her death?
2. What's your opinion of Milei and his economic ideas?
Sad theres nothing for Colombia
I think they are saving them up for a later DLC. That way they can focus on giving the current nations a more detailed focus tree
Uruguay and Paraguay instead of Venezuela or Colombia 💔
I guess that if the DLC does well then they will come back to the continent with something like big trees for Colombia Venezuela and Perú and small trees for Ecuador and Bolivia. That way you cover the entire continent in two DLCs
it makes more sense this way ngl, they could more easily group colombi with central america given gran colombia literally has a cores on panama
peru or colombia*, we have enough with one new granada country
@@MiniSugus Bolivia was at war with most of their neighbors and had a terrible military. I think they deserve a decently large tree with all the expansion they can do. Plus a second war of the pacific could be cool
Uruguay doesn’t need to hold those states for a year to white peace. They need to take them within a year.
Unpopular opinion - honestly I'm a excited for the impassable region for Brazil. I'm loving the multiple chokepoints, and definitely the air region change. Before it was just a few GIANT regions for air and it was very problematic. And yes I do build supply and railway in the Amazonas. When I was first starting out with HOI4 I refused to play the major nations until I grasped the core mechanics. Brazil and South Africa were my two nations I used to learn the game at a pace I could understand.
I like the feature. I just don't like having to baby sit my battleplans in that region thats all
@@DaveFeedBackGaming yeah I hear you, not everyone wants to babysit battles. I'm wondering if they want to encourage more special forces use through that. I would use marines to invade from the other side then gradually squeeze them in. Might be some good spots for paratroopers too.
I think kaiserreich has had impassable land in the Amazon for a while, and that seems to work well
Love the content no matter where its at mate. Also whatss going on on IRL chan...

I hope that they would expand rivers as supply network, because right now supplies flowing through rivers are very limited. Maybe adding production of tugboats as the trains but on rivers..?
i find the use of command power pointless because any sort of traits u give generals eat it all up. u need a cap of 900 it just to limited and too expensive.
Yes command power can be a pain in the ass
18:00 The war of the triple alliance was not "just prior 1930", it ended in 1870. The effects on the population seem a bit strange, Im not sure that the devastation was still present in this level in 1936. However, they were still indebted to the allies, being pardoned by Brazil in 1946.
90% of the Paraguayan male population was killed, it is more likely that the problems were greater than they will be in Hoi4.
You could argue the devastation was felt until late in the 80's. Before that, Paraguay was nothing, couldn't even be called a country.
Well, Paraguay lost 90% of his male population, i think the devastation is still present somehow even today
@@ivantorres641 No, you can easilly search for current Paraguay demographics and you will notice no abnormal discrepancies. The male/female ratio is about 50%. Also, the "90% of male population" is disputed, there is no evidence of such great casualty rate, and it seems to be government propaganda. I've seem better estimates range from ~10% to ~70% of the total population, it might be somewhere in the middle (the war was still really devastating). It is hard to calculate the real casualty numbers, and it may actually be impossible!
@@leoguarizo2 Argue with what? Also, before what, the war? What do you mean by "couldn't even be called a country"
As a Paraguayan, I love that Paradox is giving so much attention to my country in their games (not only in HOI4, but also in Victoria 3).
If I had to say some small negative aspects, it is that Franco was not a communist, but at the time his followers (called Febreristas after the revolution that took place in February 1936) did not end up defining very well whether they were fascists or communists, and in the press He was accused of being one or the other. However, I love what they are doing to give more attention to South America.
i think u should get cores on parts of colombia and brazil but u need to go to war to get them. so u can have limited stake state conflicts. i would prefer lots of smaller localized skirmishes than super allies all world join in
Central America, Cuba and Hatti should all be able to form a Caribbean empire being able to integrate all islands and everything surrounding the Caribbean sea, although I'm looking forward to more formable nations, I'm pretty disappointed that it doesn't seem like that will be possible
Like a Pirate Nation with op naval boosts
Dude your hair looks NICE, like really nice

Same

Soumds lika a Paradox DLC alright
The update is looking really good but it became dreadful for me to read when I realized they added those two breakaway republics for Mexico, now a lot of peace deals will punish Mexico by releasing those two for no reason, they don't even have real ethnic precedents to exist, it's just people that were revolting against Santa Anna's dictatorship who tried to set-up their own (actually) free republics, which happened not too far away from the American-Mexican war
Paraguayan and history major here, just to explain some things here:
1. 19:17 The february revolution of 1936 that puts Franco (communist) in power, ousting the liberals (democratic) was something that i apreciate they added and very truthful to how it actually happened hustorically.
2. 18:38 this is were i start to have problems, Franco was ousted by the liberals once again in august 1937 under Felix Paiva who would rule the nation until the 1939 elecciones were José F. Estigarribia (liberal) would be elected.
Only after the death of Estigarribia in a plane crash in september of 1940 would Higinio Morinigo (fascist) be declared provisional president
In what i understood, if you pull out the troops from the Chaco it immediatly puts Higinio Morinigo in power, skipping 4 entire years of liberal control
3. 18:52 One example of the spudity of this is that Estigarribia was the president that started colaborating with the US, form what i understood you can do it with anyone which i pretty much don't like
4. And bassically, all the politics and the reasons and ways presidents were ousted and put on power are completely wrong
Franco was ousted by a coup because the people didn't like how radical he was
Felix Paiva governed after him then was replaced by Estigarribia after the 1939 elections
Estigarribia ruled until his death in 1940
Then his War Minister Morinigo asumed provisional power but became a dictator with Republican suport
The republicans then betrayed Morinigo and ousted him from power after the 1947 civil war in which this 2 fought both the febrerists and liberals
And then the republicans ruled the country until 2008
Keep these type of videos coming!
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police isn’t divisions. It’s an agency…that’s why it says “Agency Created”
I still can't believe that they didn't add a Bolivian focus tree. Bolivia lost so much land and it would be interesting to like take back Bolivia's coast line or to invade Paraguay or maybe form pure Bolivia. There's just so much potential for a Bolivian focus tree it surprises me that they won't add a Bolivian focus tree in the next dlc.
Canadian railway company should give some kind of production buff for tanks they were a key weapons manufacturer during Canada's war effort

It's cool that they're tweaking Canada but the other together for victory nations need a overhaul.
press f for belgium focuse three
Well.
First: i really like your content and i think is really funny the jokes about who the games works.
Two: like a Brazillian guy I've been waiting for this dlc since the game came out. In fact, it's funny to think about how much of a broken and screwed country Brazil has been since its independence and how it makes you want to correct it and transform it into a mega power in a game. There is also the factor of having several mods that touch on Latin America.
Three: The fact that the game gets more complicated for some nations as DLC's and patches are released is a bit annoying, in addition, several nations that should do a better job are simply generic (like Belgium and Austria) or that should be reworked (like Japan and Germany).
Finally, in Brazil, Paradox games and dlcs have increasingly higher and crazy prices. And personally I feel deep pain when I remember that I have to make several conquests with mega complicated countries (like Communist China or Hungary, which depend a lot on RNG). AND THE SONGS IN PRE-ORDER IS A DIRTY SCAM!
I have to assume, based on their work here. That Paradox will make another DLC (probably not the next one, but soon-ish) that will focus on Venezuela, Colombia, & Peru... PLUS, minor trees like these for Bolivia & Ecuador.
It must be a similar amount of work. I am sure with Colombia there there will be some West Caribbean island updates on the map with disputes over them and parts of Panama with the USA and maybe some Panama updates with the focus in that region.
Venezuela could have a much more Fascist Historical Focus Path with disputes over the ABC islands and Guyana (and maybe even bits of Brazil in the jungle.) Similar to how Paraguay is a Communist Historical Focus Path at the 1936 start (and they have that in their "mini-"tree.) PLUS, their distinct role of oil production the in the ABC islands, their role in refining it.
Then with Peru they could add more to what they are doing here with the post-civil war issues and territorial war in 1941 and any issues between old borders with Bolivia and of course what they have here going on between Peru & Chile. (I know the least of this area at the time tbh.) Plus, there little connection to the Axis & how they (out of these 5 countries) is the only nation with a navy (atm or at least in the game at present.)
BUT I could see them making lines of impassible mountain ranges in Peru & Colombia, as well as, updates to Marshes and such in Venezuela. Then Victory Point updates (which I hope they are doing with this DLC too.)
With the minor trees, Ecuador you could add to the added conflict here they subsequent demilitarized zone from the 1941 conflict. Their heavy lean on Democracy.
PLUS, I mentioned Bolivia a few times now, but their issues with Chile & Peru in terms of no coastal access. But, i know they supplied half the world's tin during the war, had a coup that gave rise to a Fascist leader, but never did much as the Allies keep them him in check during the whole of the war.
the Amazon has already had "demilitarized" zones in Kaiserreich for quite a while and i have never had a frontline issue there in my years of playing KR Brazil. Having this in vanilla hoi4 will just make fighting in south america much better.
There must be senior Hilter path come on devs
For the modding stuff, wasnt there something that prevented the 2nd Finland soviet union war getting bigger?
So nice to see minors having wayyy bigger focus trees than majors. Thanks Paradox.
They call that a mini focus tree, but they still won't fix the 10 focuses per path that Japan has? Come on Paradox, fix the east.
me still waiting for austria and beligum focus tree
13:42 It branches off of Superior Tactician, and it's called "Mine craft". Very cheesy indeed.
With the River Plate Battle, I would assume letting the Graf Spee stay at port will have economical consequences, just as the UK threatened irl to stop trading with Uruguay if we did.
Canada should have a mechanised Moose division template
Too OP. Maybe polar bears?
Im glad we are getting mini focus trees because now we can justify having more nations that really shouldnt have focus trees but shouldnt be neglected like Nepal, Cuba, Austria, etc.
I mean, Ethiopia, which was historically annex rather quickly (from the 1936 start) has a large one, so really nothing is off the table now.
Calling Juan Domingo Peron "Popular" is right but kind of weird at the same time.

I understand the point about frontlines in the Amazon and I mostly agree with it but personally I think for an area with that much impassable terrain you shouldn’t be using frontline because it would be far easier and probably better to just micro the units through that area. It’s similar to Madagascar in TNO. But yeah I want frontlines to be fixed
