    This is a very clear and articulate video. I had a 350z and had to do the same thing but I took the whole drive shafts out to clean and grease them. It worked.
    Now I have a 370z and it too makes the same noise so I will try this method.
    Thanks.

    I just finished fixing the clicking noise on my Infiniti FX35 Sport. I did it the exact procedure Nissan/Infiniti recommends. They recommend to use the same lock nut and same washer. You only need new cotter pins and Brake Caliper Grease which contains the Moly M77 material. It cost me $11 to fix it and it runs like brand new. You can do it yourself. Don't hesitate!

      I have a 2012 FX35 doing this. I'll add it to the maintenance list. I just did my fuel level sensor fix for a few dollars. This axle thing is truly just a band aid. It seems there is too much play in the splines and all the grease does is make it a smoother transition from one end of the play to the other vs snapping all at once.

    Found this fix on a G37 forum, ordered the parts and was planning on doing this today. So I was looking up videos, and found this video. Ha I appreciate it!

    How long did this fix last? I’ve done just about everything and it’s only lasted a few thousand miles at best. I’ve removed the axle completely, cleaned and wire brushed all the splines, fresh grease, went in with oem parts first time around, second time around I went with the Kawasaki castle nut and it went back to clicking. There has been no remedy I could find that works permanently.

    • @johnvas4173
      @johnvas4173 5 років тому +1

      FYI. I just saw this vid. ua-cam.com/video/3ipx1OWx3kk/v-deo.html
      They removed the axle, cleaned the splines and added thread lock. Their logic was the splines are wearing out and creating a gap. Grease won't solve the issue but locking it down would. I didnt see a follow up if it worked or not for the long term.

    This is more of a bandaid type of fix. The issue is most likely the bearing design. Until an updated bearing comes out with a new part number, this is the only remedy. NTN makes the bearings for Nissan. They are usually really good.

    I tried this method with the kawasaki axle nut. I used three new spring washers on each axle as well as new cotter pins. Torqued the axles nuts down to 80 ft lbs per multiple sources. The axle clicking went completely away for a solid 2 months but the clicking is coming back. I've read multiple forums stating to also re-grease where the axle meets the back face of the hub... so I may try that out. Is anyone aware of a more permanent fix for this situation though? I know Nissan has come out and said the axle clicking on the 350/G35 and 370/G37 is normal but I would still like to resolve the clicking. Would replacing the axles with aftermarket solve this axle clicking??
