    Experiencing the Wu is one of the highlights in my life ever. Wu, Nas and 2Pac. I feel so blessed to been able to witness greatness like that in Hip-Hop. I can comfortabely say that they fathered me as a young man growing up without a father. Ive got a family now with 4 kids and whenever I'm feeling doubtfull about my ways as a man and as a father, I just fall back to what these brothers preached and teached. Thank ya'll!

    Very nice. Best rap group in Hip-Hop history. These brothers are young in this clip. But you can see and hear that they're all intelligent and very philosophical. I was 13 when the Wu bumrushed the game in '93 so i didn't understand all the lyrics. 20+ years later I'm still catching deep meaning in their material for the first time. That's why they're the best.

    Emerging in 1993, when Dr. Dre's G-funk had overtaken the hip-hop world, the Staten Island, New York-based Wu-Tang Clan proved to be the most revolutionary rap group of the mid-'90s -- and only partially because of their music. Turning the standard concept of a hip-hop crew inside out, the Wu-Tang Clan were assembled as a loose congregation of nine MCs, almost as a support group. Instead of releasing one album after another, the Clan were designed to overtake the record industry in as profitable a fashion as possible -- the idea was to establish the Wu-Tang as a force with their debut album and then spin off into as many side projects as possible. In the process, the members would all become individual stars as well as receive individual royalty checks.

    When you hear real music and then you hear the garbage you gotta make a choice so true that's what everyone wants right now that's why we're all like lets go back to the 90's mean while they're are get lyricist today but they get overshadowed by the bullshit turnup club songs

    • @hellespont5072
      @hellespont5072 8 років тому +3

      +Tyra Jeneen Yeah it's unfortunate that it didn't play out the way RZA thought it would. During the 2000's there was so much garbage being promoted by the industry that it drowned anybody who was being even a little bit intelligent and politically conscious with their lyrics. They traded well-crafted verses for catchy hooks, and the result is shitty club music that is quickly forgotten and easily replaced. If you're interested there are a few artists here in the UK that spit real knowledge: Akala, Lowkey, Logic. Search YT for "Akala Fire in the booth 1, 2 & 3". You won't regret it. Peace!
