    cheers, I'm a painter in AU's, one thing I like to add is put your old bolts into the threads before painting so you won't break bolts because the threads are full of paint...you can also tap them but I prefer old bolts in to cover the threads.

    Excellent! You read my mind. I have been asking myself "where to start, how to start, what comes first? whats better first? what should I ask or look for during painting-hunting..." and you know.. every day I change my mind on what color I should get it painted.. Silver, Yellow, Red, Orange, no, no Metallic brown...

    I like to see the split window VW Bug with an aftermarket pop out rear window, fender skirts, and even tricked engine cover that look like it is going to fall off, including a "Paul Pope's Nose." That is applied to 1949-1952 VW Bugs.

    Hi Chris, enjoying your videos from Brisbane Australia. Finally fulfilling my life long dream of restoring a bug. Dubbie has been gutted and is a shell, and that is how I adopted her. Unfortunately the previous owners were not so kind on her and there is no catergorizing just parts all thrown in a box. It makes more of a challenge to get a parts list together and that is a bit overwhelming, is there a link to all parts required that I can check off at all? The step by step speedy list was fantastic. Now to type it up and try and get some schedule to my project. Thank you for giving me such order to the ciaos. So grateful for you sharing your knowledge. You command an audience to get that pen and paper out! All the best and keep the vids coming! Karena

    • @classicvwbugs
      @classicvwbugs  8 років тому

      Karena, there really is no formal list unless you had a true VW shop parts book parts. I just generally walk around each car and make a list. It will take time to get the list together and let alone sit at the computer and make a shopping cart. Just take your time, and make it fun.
