Two stories from The Wedge. 1. Just moved to building in front of Balboa Pier from Seattle....didn't know about it's infamy, went body surfing, the bottom dropped out and I hit straight on my face. My whole neck crunched and I hung it up for the day. 2. Drank all day in N.B. with my roommates...all the sudden from the shore one roommate jumped in the water and took the other back in. Luckily the first was an L.A.County lifeguard and he could see the cold water/alcohol put the other one in shock. Those were '87 and '90 and I haven't been back there since. Wish I had but I thought "fool me once, shame on you", "fool me twice, shame on me". Wasn't going for a third fooling.
I tried surfing before opening day and I was arrested. And after the season ends. Their going to be imposing serious fines for anyone body boarding after closing day.

6:30 . . .Those lefts don't come every day, 4 days ago in search on surf line these conditions would have been a visit.
The force of that inside section crashing on your head has to be unimaginable. A lot of them go home with a wedge headache I bet lol.
